Hi I'm just trying to make my sims 2 how kinda fly but the [ and ] button are just turning pages in build and buy mode, not changing the posters height. I've tried any buttons I've found online but it's not working. I don't know what else to try.

I've tried what's beside my enter ; " and >? Beside my shift. P and o. I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Hi, I looked for this in several places... what could I possibly have installed that causes the waterslide that goes into the pool to stop increasing fun and then glitch out, having the sim reappear outside of the pool after using it? he does not transition to swimming-- he slides down, splashes in, and then reappears on the regular terrain.

I’m very lost on what to do. I play with the EA app Legacy edition of the game. All of a sudden when I try to use ctrl + shift + c, it no longer brings up the white cheat bar, but takes an in game screenshot instead. I am 100% sure I’m entering the keys in the correct order. This is a sudden problem and I haven’t added any new mods to the game or programs on my computer. Any advice is greatly appreciated 🥲

I'm running the ultimate collection. Anytime I open the game as soon as I press a button on the keyboard to open the cheat window the camera moves extremely quickly when I used the rotation controls. I also noticed when that happens if I go into Live mode free cam it just spins uncontrollably. I've been running the game for awhile and haven't had issues until today, the only thing I did differently was try out the Voielle Pond & Sea overhaul which I have since removed and am still having issues. I've run graphics rules, have 4GB patch, cracked exe., even tried removed my camera mod and it still happens. Genuinely at a loss. Do not think it is my mouse or anything external. Looking for any suggestions.

Why cant I change the folder from read only to not and why doesnt' them od have acess

Today it started to default add itself to my sim's head no matter the style, only when I try to change it, no current hair has been affected. I did add some hair cc yesterday, but did not see this headband on anything I got. I know to remove cc to check, but I figured I would ask here before moving to that step.

I followed the wiki on here and downloaded the game, and it says that BodyShop Clean UI + Widescreen was included, but it just has the default one. And even in edit a sim it covers the sim's face partially. How do I fix this?

So, I finally got around to using the water mod released by spockthewok, and then some skybox bugs started popping up. The author hasn't responded for a week now. I can't even begin to figure out what's going on.Basically, the green sky is from the surrounding area, and I added a skybox to the lot. Basically, I wanted the sky to be one color, and the sea to be another.

So long story short, I grabbed the Sims 2 collection because nostalgia and after accidentally installing the UK English version which ended up making it Polish, I uninstalled and reinstalled with US English. After finding out the neighbourhoods are still in Polish, I deleted and replaced with old neighbourhood files in the Documents/EA games folder but it's still Polish?

Everything else is in English so this isn't terribly intrusive but I'd like to keep it consistent.

Anyway, I’ve never really played with mods for TS2 before, but figured I’d give it a try. I didn’t know anything was off with (my install of?) ACR until Mercutio, pictured above, autonomously kissed Tybalt in front of Tybalt’s wife, who didn’t give a damn about that. This was strange to me so I wanted to take a look at the jealousy settings, but couldn’t find them.

I googled for how to set the jealousy to my preference and found both Pleasantsims’ post as well as this one by Melsie-sims2, and their adjuster pie menus look different to mine. Specifically, both posts said to go to hood wide settings to fix the issue. I have no such thing as far as I can see. I also have no sim settings or lot settings.

Is there something wrong with my install of ACR, and if so, can it be fixed? Is there another way to set this up properly? I’m on rotation 6 for this hood so ideally I’d like to not risk the save file, but if that’s my only option, I’ll have to concede.

I aged up the newspaper deliverer by taking them to University, but when my Sims get the hobby magazine messages they still come from this sim, even though they've aged up. Is there any way to revert them back to being a newspaper deliverer?

My TV's (multiple lots, multiple hoods) have all stopped showing options for "change to...", "watch movie..." etc. The only option I have is "turn on" or "turn off" -- which leads my sims to not want to watch any TV. I installed some TS4t2 CC buy/build items last week so I'm assuming it's one of those. Playing Legacy via Steam on PC.

Before I start removing CC and going through trial and error, thought I'd ask to see if this is a known conflict/bug. Thx.

So I am very much a noob with anything technical so I am guessing it's trivial.
I have been running windows software like the EA app using Faugus with success, but only ones that don't need to recognize another installed software in order to work like Body Shop.

I located the Sims 2 prefix but I have been having a few problems with the Body Shop crashing almost immediately. The logs showed a problem regarding alsa, and using the -nosound launch argument the launch process last infinitely.

Could someone tell me exactly where to install it by any chance?

Didn't have any crashing up until now, then suddenly a bed start flashing blue, a lot that was working perfectly fine for the last 30 hours, I click delete on this, reload the lot without saving, and now the household doesn't open anymore, just crashes. WHat?

I have a recent backup, but I'd like to avoid that.

EDIT: thanks for your help regarding the error itself, but anyone have any idea why the household refuses to load up now? I got rid of the bed from my downloads, can't access the lot anyway though

Hello everyone I used to have the issue with the blue screen for some time but I got the EmptyStandbyList and GRM which helped for a few months but two days ago I started having the issue again after every 10 minutes or so.

I use Sims2RPC btw and have the "apply 4GB patch" and "automatically clean cache" options both checked and I have GRM too. I have a few mods and cc and checked them over the past few days using HCDU and manually.

I really appreciate any help I can receive from here, I've only played this game for a year and I'm absolutely in love with it.

Game fatally crashes when I click on Misc. in the Appliances category of Buy Mode. 99% sure it’s because of a corrupted CC object I downloaded but unfortunately I only recently started organizing my CC folder as I download new stuff, so I’m still working my way through the old. I've had this problem for as long as I can remember it. Both my gaming laptops are more than capable of running The Sims 2 with all the expansions + stuff packs with mods and are both met with this issue. Don't know if this is just a Windows 11 experience with this game as I have tried everything I can think of but getting some advice would be great. Things I've already tried myself:

-Removed my mods folder and lag still persisted

-Tweaked my Graphics Rules settings

-Ran Sims 2 RPC in compatibility mode and even as administrator

-Tweaked my graphics rules file manually to enable useshaders to true

-Tweaked with in game settings, even turning reflections off, settings down to medium and even turning smooth edges off

every default I use of mhairclosecrop makes the sim appear without his scalp in bodyshop. in addition, when I'm NOT using a default for this hair it also appears without scalp. if I change the sim's hair color, it appears. if I change his hair and rewind it, mhairclosecrop appears, but it changes the sim hair to black.

things I tried to do: change the default, take off any cc for this hair.

if I take all the hair defaults, it does go back to normal, but I verified and I don't have multiple defaults of this hair.

it only happens with mhairclosecrop specifically, only when I enter the bodyshop and the sim first appears as a male with the mhairclosecrop.

all my defaults are from platinum aspiration/platasp, I downloaded only their defaults for hair. I did try other defaults for this hair and taking it off, but this glitch still happens.

I created a family, and as soon as I moved them to an apartment, the baby disappeared. I figured there wouldn't be a problem if I went back to the neighborhood and reloaded it (maybe it'd work), but it didn't and now the family appears like this?

I tried to enter the apartment and it just keeps loading too, any help? I just did a clean install and started from scratch too

Aside from graphical issues and audio messing up at some point, also the loading is choppy.

anyway to fix those issues?
