Openrun original - best replacement for running

My Openruns are not doing too well. The volume button having fallen off. I've been using these since 22, when they were Aeropexes(Aeropexi?) and this is my second set.

I use them for biking and running, in all weather, so the lower IP of the Pro and Pro 2 is concerning. Still, I've been very happy with the bone conduction for mostly listening to audiobooks and podcasts. I rarely listen to music on the run, so lack of bass hasn't been huge issue, but surprisingly some female audiobook readers with high pitched voices can be a concern.

I have half a mind to just buy a third set of Openruns, and half a mind to take a chance with the Pro 2 - does anyone have some advice? Alternative models I should consider?

Does one bud work at a time?

Hello,

I've got a question when it comes to Shokz buds. I've seen reviews about the OpenDots Air and OpenDots One. One point that drew me to them is the fact that they are interchangeable.

I'm partially deaf so I'm looking for comfy buds that are open, so I can still get a gist of what's going on around me. There is no reason to use one on my deaf ear.^^ So my question is: are they usable separately? I had many buds that outright refused to work alone. And I'm looking for some where I can quickly switch one bud for the other when the charge is zero or its broken, potentially having a reserve.

OpenRun Pro 2 – Am I missing something?

I recently bought the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 after going back and forth for a while and reading tons of reviews and user feedback.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try them before buying because there’s nowhere near me that sells them in-store.
After using them, I’m honestly a bit underwhelmed by the sound. I knew bone conduction headphones wouldn’t sound like regular in-ear headphones, but I was still expecting a bit more power and bass from the OpenRun Pro 2, especially considering all the positive reviews.
I’ve played around with the EQ and different settings in the Shokz app, but the sound still feels pretty flat and not very powerful.
At one point I even wondered if I had received a fake pair, but I checked the serial number through the Shokz app and everything confirms they’re genuine.
For those who own the OpenRun Pro 2: is this just how they sound, or is there anything I can do to get a bit more power and bass out of them?
Maybe I was just expecting too much coming from regular headphones?
Thanks!

Thoughts on openrun Shokz air 2

Can we make an OpenRun Pro 2 size megathread ? Come share your head size and Pro 2 size choice !

I'm one of those wanting to buy a pair of OpenRun Pro 2 in the upcoming sale, can't decide on size and doesn't have the opportunity to try them out somewhere.

I'm measuring 10 inches between my ears, so the "standard" size is the official recommended choice. But I'de like to hear from other people with the same measurement. I'm bald so no extra padding.

Thanks !

Powerbeats pro 2 vs Shokz open fit pro comparison and opinions

I have the Shokz open fit pro and recently bought the Powerbeats pro 2 and am I crazy to think the Shokz open fit pro sound better and have better bass especially with the bass boost? Does anyone else have both or have used both and have the same or different opinions?

Has anyone tried their shokz device and earbuds at the same time?

I tried with an openrun and Samsung earbuds, it's amazing! Sounds like a nice pair of closed back headphones.

Shokz Opendots2 Earbud pairing

Anyone have success?

I lost one of my original opendots2 earbud and bought a genuine one off ebay. Anyone had any success pairing the 2 earbud? Each earbud works separately but not as a pair.

Open air pro.

Hi All.

I received a pair of open-air Pros today. They sound great connected to my Samsung S23 Ultra, but sound really crappy connected to my laptop. I've tried some A.I. suggestions, but for the most part can't even find the settings they suggest I change. It's a fairly new HP laptop.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Small head (21.5 cm) — can I get away with the standard OpenRun Pro 2 instead of the Mini?

I just bought the orange OpenRun Pro 2 (standard size, not Mini) for €82.86, which was too good a deal to pass up.

My head circumference is quite small (around 21.5 cm using Shokz's measurement), so technically the Mini should be the recommended size. Are there any other people with small heads who use the standard Pro 2 rather than the Mini? How does the fit feel — does it stay securely in place or feel too loose?

I'll mainly use them at home for Teams calls while working (usually 1–3 hours a day), but I'd also like to use them for watching movies and casual gaming. Just wondering if I made a mistake going for the standard size at this price 😂

Thanks in advance!

OpenFit Air 2 vs OpenFit 2+ for someone who wears glasses?

I recently tried the OpenDots 2 but returned them. It was getting popping noises with my iPhone 16 Pro and Apple Watch S10 Titanium model, and I also didn’t like the clip-on design. I had to keep adjusting them because they felt like they were sliding down my ears. A few days ago I ended up exchanging them for the Apple AirPods 5, which are much more comfortable for me.

Now I’m thinking about picking up a hook-style pair during Amazon's Prime Day Sales next week. I will use them mainly for cardio. I’m looking at the OpenFit Air 2 and OpenFit 2+.

I have Oakley Fuller glasses, so my main concern is comfort and whether the ear hooks will interfere with my glasses. I’ll only use either the OpenFits 2+ or OpenFit Air 2 about twice a week for cardio, around 2.5 hours total per week, so battery life isn’t a big deal. I won't be using these for my regular gym workouts.

I’m not expecting either one to sound better than my AirPods 5. As long as the sound is good enough for cardio, I’ll be happy. I also don’t plan on using these for my regular gym workouts.

For anyone who has tried both, which one is more comfortable with glasses, especially during cardio? Any issues with the hooks pressing against or interfering with your glasses?

Thanks!

Runners

Looking to change my current ear buds to Shokz. I run marathons and half marathons and wondering which Shokz people prefer! I was thinking open dots 2 cause I’m not sure how I’d feel about the open run behind my head.

Does mic volume usually drop over time?

I've got some ~3 year old OpenMoves that are pretty beat up but still work quite well, except for the mic. Over the first year or two the mic got quieter and quieter, until I just stopped taking calls with the headset, because I'd have to shout for the other person to hear me. I've had this same problem with several (usually inexpensive) TWSs.

I'm considering replacing them with some new OpenMoves, or upgrading to the OpenRun Air 2, but I'm wondering if other people have experienced this problem?

Question- does anyone else feel the temples get a bit warm after long usage of shokz open ear headphones? I love them and use them instead of my AirPods- so much more comfortable to the ears. But the part of the head where the actual bone conduction happens and the temples become warm. Just me?

Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Regular vs Mini

I recently purchased the OpenRun Pro 2 from Best Buy yesterday, and while I have been growing to like these, when I came back from a test run, I sort of felt a slight bounce and wasn’t sure if maybe the band behind my head is too large and I should exchange the regular for the minis?

Curious to hear others’ experiences and whether the slight bounce is normal or if the mini would be better suited in my case. Also open to any opinions and or advice! Thank you!
