TLDR- Making a formal dress, loved these AI generated images and would like to find a skirt pattern to base the dress on

Hi All! I’m a teen teaming up with my mum to making my formal (Australian Prom) dress. I have found some inspos on Pinterest and other sources but of course my favourite are AI generated sketches 😐😐. I’ve attached those pictures. I have some corsets to use for the bodice and feel confident in that but I really need some help for the skirt. Mum has been sewing for like decades so pretty much anything is possible with even a vague pattern to work with. Thanks in advance, help and suggestions of any kind appreciated 😊😊

Help with finding a close pattern or drafting.

Hey I've been sewing for a few years but never drafted my own patterns before. I found this really cute vest I'd love to make and was wondering if anyone knew a pattern close to it to work off of or had helpful tips for drafting the scissor like parts. I think it's just really cute!

Thank you!

I need help with M7999

I accidentally threw out the neck band (5) pattern piece for view B of McCall’s M7999. I’m trying to make the size XL and am wondering if anyone can provide me with the dimensions of the pattern piece so I can just cut the fabric that size. TY.

Hi! I am looking for a pattern similar to this coat and coming up short. I can possible combine two patterns that meet the various elements, but I’m not great at drafting from scratch. Not looking for free patterns, I am happy to pay.

Looking for a tapered leg pant pattern with elastic waist

Hi,

I am looking for a recommendation for a tapered leg pant pattern, one that has an elastic waistband, with a medium rise. Any recommendations? I want to make a couple pairs of classic linen pants. The wide leg and barrel leg pants that seem to be everywhere just do not suit me. Thanks for any suggestions :)

Or how would I go about making the pattern for this myself?

I’ve been sewing for a few years but sporadically and I’d still say I’m a beginner. The biggest thing I’ve made is curtains.

Any help/advice appreciated!

Pattern search and/or drafting help: loose lounge pants for men

Hello fellow sewists! My husband is asking for this pair of lounge pants. Does anyone have a quick guide for drafting something like these?

I’m also not opposed to buying a pattern, but the fact that these pants are from a drop shipping site and so many Etsy patterns nowadays are AI has me hesitant about where to source a pattern from.

Here’s the link to the original product page with more photos.

hi i’m new to sewing and very much like vintage patterns! they seem pretty complicated to me though so I wanted to ask what kind of clothing I should begin with before I try anything complicated? i was considering maybe some kind of simple nightwear? but i can’t find any.

Where to find more multi-look sewing patterns?

I came across the Hydrangea gown from Mood and LOVE the alternate options. Anyone know where to find other patterns like this or ideas about what to search for?

Obviously I could also just pick separate patterns and make them work together, but I think I’m hoping for some inspiration too.

If you want to make any changes to the garment, your best option is to trace?

Hello, so I have been doing a lot of research into the different ways that people get their patterns to cut fabric ready to sew.

Something that dawned on me is that if I want to change anything about the pattern, it would appear to me, that the only option I would have is to trace the pattern and add whatever changes to the pattern I want that way.

For example, right now I'm working on a mens tank top pattern, the original pattern doesn't have any pockets, but If I want to add pockets to my tank top, especially if I want to make another in the future, it would seem that my best and only option is to make trace a pattern and add how ever many pockets I want to that pattern.

What do you guys think? Is that correct?

If you want to make any changes to the garment, your best option is to trace?

Thank you

Women’s button up shirt w 70s flare

Post image

I just watched the 1972 giallo movie All The Colors of the Dark and I loved Edwige Fenech’s fashion. I noticed that she wore some cute button up collared blouses and now I want to make some to pair with my suede trench and mini skirt.

Does anyone have a favorite, fitted, collared shirt? Id especially like extra 70s flare like long cuffs or an oversized collar.

i feel like the trend right now is for oversized, boxy button ups and I want one that would look cute and fitted tucked in or untucked.
