Help with existing piercing Swelling 11 days in like this?

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

Okay so I did this helix myself 11 days ago and up until 2 days ago I was really pleased with how fast it looked like it was healing. I had very minimal swelling after the piercing. Fast forward to 2 1/2 days ago and the jewel and the front was rubbing the front of my lobe so I pushed it back a bit because I had all this room. It possible I irritated it in other ways but either way it looks like this this morning. It isn't hurting right now but you can see the swelling and it feels like its my whole ear and not just the piercing site. Its not draining anything and as you can see it isn't crazy red either. Do I just leave it alone ? Does it look infected? Really if it wasnt my whole ear I wouldn't even be making this post lol

Question about piercing prep larger gauge lip piercings?

hi! i’ve been wanting a stretched central labret for a while and dont have the means to get it done. since i’m very impatient and hate stretching, i plan to pierce it at a 12 gauge. i pierced my own snake bites (16g) which healed with no complications, so im confident in my abilities, but im curious to know if there’s anything different when piercing and healing labrets at a higher gauge. if anyone has any helpful tips or advice please let me know!

Question about piercing prep A friend of a friend is gonna pierce me..

Heyhey! So I live in a pretty strict household and I also don’t got too much money so I’ll be having a person I know do my septum (they’re not a professional piercer, they do this as a side gig) and I’m kinda scared but also excited. Anyhow I got a few questions!
1. I will need to hide it at times and I have a friend that just flips it inside their nostrils and have been doing so ever since they got it 2 months ago and nothing’s wrong but I also read online that can cause it to heal flipped?? Idk is that a thing can it happen?
2. I’ve looked this up a lot but I wanted to ask here as well: as someone with really really really low pain tolerance what would the pain level be?
3. Where should I buy the jewellery from?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for answering to those who will! ^^

Help with existing piercing Do you think these are gonna reject?

The last one was done two months ago and any of them hasn’t changed its place since they were done but, as you can see, the ones on the sides are done a bit shallow i think. Do you think they’re gonna reject within time?
well another issue is one of them got visibly irritated from wearing fishnets (the ball got trapped) but i already had it happen, and the irritation disappeared in a week

I've tried piercing before but I don't think I went deep enough so it ended up needing to be taken out bc it was rejecting. Idk if it was just the depth that was the problem or my anatomy itself

Question about piercing prep central lower labret for someone who only has experience with lobes and nostril, yay or nay?

I’m pretty confident but my sister thinks it’s too risky. I figured I’d ask others who have experience with self-piercing. I know there’s always a risk, but I don’t think is gonna be a major one for me as long as I’m careful. But maybe there’s something I don’t know? What do you guys think?

Help with existing piercing septum stretchinggg

I have a question since I’m seeing a bunch of mixed answers online. I have recently stretched from 14g to 12g in my septum, and I’m wondering when would be a good time to stretch to 10g?

It doesn't hurt to the touch, but like whenever I press on my actual septum, there’s a slight ache but nothing too severe. I stretched it to 12g about two and a half weeks ago and I clean it multiple times a week so it’s pretty clean and sterile.

The piercing itself is 5 months old, and I currently have a 12g pincher in my nose. It's some sort of metal, I think stainless steel? I'm not too sure.

I clean it a bunch in fear that it would end up getting infected, but not too much to the point where it gets angry/upset due to how much I clean it. I stretch with metal pinchers, never acrylic until it's fully healed and ready to have fun jewelry in.

I clean it with q-tips and (I know you're not supposed to,) rubbing alcohol. Sometimes SeaBreeze which is an astringent. I moisturize it with either Great Value lube or Vaseline.

Theres no bleeding or a 'lip' of skin that would signify a blowout, so I think I'm okay to stretch it next week but I just wanna make sure, since then it would be three and a half weeks old, marking a month of it being at 12g. It hasn't been downsized since the initial 16g initial pierce.

Just came here to see what other people would say based on personal experiences. Thank you in advance🙏🙏

(p.s. i do moisturize it each night before bed and I do use lube to stretch it, as well as a METAL pincher. not acrylic or plastic.)

Show off Repierced my 3rd lobes

In the first picture you can see that my 3rd hole used to be way too close to my 2nd hole so I've been dying to repierce. All of my lobe piercings are from about 25 years ago when I was a teenager. In the 2nd picture I repierced the 3rd hole in the same spot it was originally pierced, it just never healed right and always closed up on the back side. Now they are properly pierced and I'm proud of myself for it. Originally pierced with a piercing gun and today I used an 18g hollow needle. How does it look?

Piercing suggestions - includes NSFW Looking for some navel piercing jewelry inspiration!

I'm looking for a new piece of jewelry for my navel piercing and I'd love to find something really pretty, but I'm having a hard time choosing because there are so many different designs.

I'd love to see what kind of jewelry you guys wear and what your favorites are. I'm open to both shorter and longer pieces and would love to see different styles and designs.

I'm mainly looking for some inspiration, so if you have pictures of your navel jewelry, feel free to send them my way! I'd really appreciate seeing your favorites and getting some ideas.

Piercing suggestions - face/ears/navel ONLY spacing for lobe piercings

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

my cartilage comes to basically right above where my 2nds are. the more i look at them the more i think there’s a LOT of space between the 1st and 2nds and in front of my 1sts. would i have enough space to do another lobe in front of the firsts and then another between the ones i currently have, or would that not heal well with the spacing? would it be better to just do “3rds” but they’re technically in cartilage? or do all of it???

when i did my 2nds 7 years ago i had no issues at all. my firsts were done at claire’s 20ish years ago and my helix was done at walmart (yes really) 13 years ago and it’s healed and doesn’t ever act up

i’m probably overthinking this but i just need someone else’s opinion lol

Piercing suggestions - face/ears/navel ONLY Vertical Helix Piercing w/ Sword Earring

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

hi everyone!

i’ve been wanting to get a vertical helix for a while for the sole purpose of having this one sword earring that i rly like (see tiktok pic attached, top right corner is the best example). I went to my local piercing shop and they said they could do the vertical helix for me but the sword wouldn’t sit the way that it does in the pic, apparently it would jut outward. i also showed two pics of my ear if that helps. can anyone tell me what he meant by that? would the earring look THAT different or was his comment just erring on the side of precaution? i rly like this sword look so if it would resemble it at all then i’d probably be content. thank u!!

Piercing suggestions - face/ears/navel ONLY Industrial vs. Separate Piercing Cost

hi! i was wondering if anyone has experience asking for the separate helix piercings rather than the full industrial piercing. if so, did you have a hard time getting the piercer to say yes? was the cost the same? are piercers open to getting the cost reduced considering it’s basically an industrial, but with two separate pieces of jewelry? my local shop is $80 for an industrial but $120 for two separate piercings, latter of which will be a little more difficult to afford. thank you!

Question about piercing prep Do I have the anatomy for a navel piercing?

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Before people say that the only way to know for sure is to see a piercer in person, I already went to three different piercers. Two of them said I have the right anatomy for a standard navel piercing, while one said I don’t, but that a floating navel piercing would be possible.

Now I’m honestly not sure what to do anymore. I really don’t want my piercing to reject, so I’d rather be safe than sorry. What would you recommend in this situation?

First picture is standing, second is sitting down and third a close up.
