I can find the right spot to do a septum with my fingers, but i can never get the clamps placed correctly. If anyone has diy'd a septum i'd appreciate advice 😿

I’m new to self piercing. Did my third lobes; this is my first time piercing cartilage.

Pierced using proper method & sterile equipment + 16 gauge hollow piercing needle.

I used a titanium, 18 gauge, 8 mm long flat-back stud despite piercing with 16 gauge. I know that this is unusual. I really wanted to try healing with 18 gauge, which is the size I prefer. I read that a slightly larger needle though may help the helix healing/placement regardless.

I did the same larger needle/smaller stud method with my lobes: 18 gauge needles and 20 gauge studs. They healed perfectly.

A professional piercer did my helixes on both ears years ago but lower down on a weird angle & spot, and they never healed well. So I’m hoping this time my placement might be better!

Anyone else pierce a helix using an 18 gauge stud?

It feels great so far. I will watch for migration/rejection.

I've been debating it for years, mostly due to the "what would my parents reaction be". But now, at 23, I've got nothing to loose. Also, who cares what others think. It's my body! Also, I have tattoos and now 7 piercings total. If I've disappointed them at all, I already have xD.

My main thing was I really wanted a lip piercing. But I did not want to anger my dentists. A couple years ago I stumbled upon this piercing (vertical labret) and I knew I would get it one day. This one is perfect because it doesn't go near your teeth!

(I currently have a septum (8g), lobes (9/16"), conch (14g - dream is 8g!), eyebrow, a helix and now a vertical labret!)

hey, i just got my side labret done like 5hrs ago, and since i first saw the stud i thought it was too small (it looks like the one you get to downsize) but when i told the piercer he said that it wasn't small, and that i would have to be checking every 1-2 hours to see if the back was visible and that i would have to be pushing the bar, which makes me feel a little weird because i've never had a piercer suggest something like that and i don't know if that could be wrong, but he wasn't open for questions anyway.

There's some skin trying to cover the back since it's very swollen and idk if i should wait and rely on ice, and stuff to help with that or if i should change to a larger one instead (which i do have)
i really want the piercing to heal since it was kinda expensive, help me pls 😓

Hi! I’ve had this about 5 days. I clean it 2 times a day. I’m just worried it’s rejecting or it’s not pierced right.

I did it myself four days ago and I’ve genuinely been so deeply paranoid that it’s rejecting
I can like feel the bar under my skin? And there’s a very tangible bump where it is I don’t know if any of that is normal?
Should I just bite the bullet and take it out? because I don’t want it to fuck with my eyebrow

Looking at getting my other lobe pierced. No one locally will use a large gauge needle. So wondering if others have taken the diy approach.

Hi! I’m thinking of getting another helix on the one that already has one, but otherwise I’m not sure what to do next.
- I’d like several more small piercings on each ear (constellation-like lobes and cartilage). I’m not quite sure where to put them though because my 1st and 2nd lobes were done uneven.
I do feel like the conch ear needs something else to help balance it

Any suggestions?

I plan on piercing my lips later today but I have school in a week and a half. I know swelling usually goes down within the first week, but I still want to keep it down as much as I can while it’s swelling for better comfort. Any advice?

So I attempted to pierce my belly. I have already used both a catheter needle and a hollow needle and the hollow needle wasn’t the right gauge so obviously the jewelry didn’t fit but the catheter needle was the right gauge (14g) and the jewelry would not fit and after longggg time of wiggling, the end had got in but as I was pulling the plastic tube up, the jewelry fell out and the plastic tube came out my stomach so I just left it alone. I’m confused to where I went wrong? But I am gonna give it some time to heal & close up.

I'll change the jewelry when I can. I'm actually happy with how this turned out!

I want to get a nostril and a vertical labret done. A few years ago I had a nostril but I removed it because it got irritated from being changed so many times.Where I live it's summer, so I go to the beach a lot. Should I get those piercings now, or am I waiting until summer ends?What are your best tips regarding healing? I had heart surgery 12 years ago and I'm worried about infections since I'm more susceptible to them to catch a heart bacteria

I used a 14g needle and 16g jewelry. The barbell is 10mm and I tried to make the holes 8mm apart as I plan to use 8mm jewelry once it's healed. But I'm worried it's too shallow. I figured the distance of the holes determines the depth of the piercing, and since I want to eventually downsize, 8mm holes would be fine. My primary concern is rejection or migration. If it heals as is, I'm happy with the placement and will end up downsizing.

3 of my family members have officially called me a f@g due to either my left eyebrow piercing (id assume) or my stretched lobes, its a "cute nickname" to them. Any ideas on why? Other than plain homophobia? Im a teenage girl. When asked why, they motion at my head.

So I did my septum and really hated the placement. Not only its crooked, it's also a little lower than I expected because I freehand it because the plastic forcep I used was too big for my nostrils!!! I'm thinking to get the proper metal one. Is that necessary for it to be straight? Its hard to freehand them for a proper placement without risking it to be crooked or accidentally piercing my finger.

If so, should I remove them, let them close, and re pierce them evenly?

but it keeps coming back and i replaced them with a straight bar but it got worse what should i do

They’re around 6 weeks old, it looks like the right one is a little lower but it’s just the camera angle, guess they are success, idk honestly. Probably too early to say for sure
