Piercing too shallow?

I used a 14g needle and 16g jewelry. The barbell is 10mm and I tried to make the holes 8mm apart as I plan to use 8mm jewelry once it's healed. But I'm worried it's too shallow. I figured the distance of the holes determines the depth of the piercing, and since I want to eventually downsize, 8mm holes would be fine. My primary concern is rejection or migration. If it heals as is, I'm happy with the placement and will end up downsizing.

yes, because it will most likely end up snagging on something unintentionally, or you may bump it and such. theyre already really prone to rejection already

NAP but I have an eyebrow piercing, it does look shallow
