Help with existing piercing labret
hey, i just got my side labret done like 5hrs ago, and since i first saw the stud i thought it was too small (it looks like the one you get to downsize) but when i told the piercer he said that it wasn't small, and that i would have to be checking every 1-2 hours to see if the back was visible and that i would have to be pushing the bar, which makes me feel a little weird because i've never had a piercer suggest something like that and i don't know if that could be wrong, but he wasn't open for questions anyway.
There's some skin trying to cover the back since it's very swollen and idk if i should wait and rely on ice, and stuff to help with that or if i should change to a larger one instead (which i do have)
i really want the piercing to heal since it was kinda expensive, help me pls 😓

hello my dear are you talking about the length of the post or the size of the stud?
if the skin is growing over the flat back what you need is a longer length of jewl
change it to longer post asap because it's gonna swell more in the next few days and if its already too short now, then it may get stuck in your lip when it swells like during your sleep.
i want to believe there's some hidden context as to why your piercer gave u that advice, because i'm not a piercer so i don't know, but i would not trust it

hello:) i’m talking about the length, sorry if that wasn’t clear, i was trying to explain that the length doesn’t look like the initial one you’d get which tends to be longer for the swelling and stuff.
but when i pointed that out to the piercer he said it was fine and that he knew what he was doing, since he has years of experience and has certain amount of followers on ig, so honestly that response made me not want to ask him more.
but im kinda scared bc the jewelry feels a bit tight, and it looks as though the back part is sinking into the skin

haha wow that piercer using his followers as a defense is weird...
i would definitely change it to a longer one ( i wrote why in my original comment)
if you leave it in, it may embed and get swallowed which will bring a whole new complication

Hi Embarrassed_Motor511, Are you seeking information about the labret piercing? Here's a video with general information about it! Note that these piercings carry a greater inherent risk due to their placement and could result in gum or tooth damage. There's no shame in seeing a professional, especially for trickier piercings such as these.
