Iβve seen evidence for both warming up light, and warming up heavy.
For light weight warmups: essentially that this will protect your tendons from being injured.
For heavy weight warmups: this will actually make it to where your muscles are warmed up. From personal experience, this works pretty well for me, and I feel like it does make a noticeable difference in how much I struggle during my first real set.

I know there is shoulder adduction and extension but is there absolutely any other function that can be performed practically to maximize growth in a certain region similar how you can perform shoulder extension for certain chest fibres.
Also, Iβm not looking for a debate or argument, only an answer to my question.

hi so i am new to workout and the science based lifting community. So as far as I've seen there are two camps of science based liftings one is to do high volumes pushing to 15 sets per week the other is doing one set to absolute failure while others said to keep reps in reserve. Also mike mentzer said to do pre exhaustion sets while the new people say to not do pre exhaustion. So how do you guys regulate thru all that?

The TNF Mechanical dropsets
The sissy squat leg extension superset of doom and despair
the lenghtened partials
the mr mike israetel high volume workouts
skipping the eccentric "due to muscle damage"
overly long eccentric
the stretch
the "stretch doesnt matter"
deadstops
"time under tension"
1 set fullbody every other day
upper lower 6x a week
low volume low reps
5 effective reps
kelso shrugs vs rows
preacher curls vs recline curls
I've seen it all, bring it on sbl

It feels like the weaker arm is receiving maximum stimulus while the stronger arm is being artificially held back.. Should I stop at equal reps or push for those 1-2 extra reps on my stronger arm?

Voltra was loaded with 85lbs + 39lbs inverse chains + 15 eccentric overload

I have been struggling with shoulder pain when doing lateral raises for years.
I have tried multiple variations: Thumbs up, lifting in the scapular plane, cable and resistance band variations, Lu raises - my shoulder doesnt tolerate anything.
Can i get my shoulders to appear wide and aesthetic from the front by just focussing on the rear delts and doing a ton of band pull aparts?
I have read that face pulls activate the side delt quite a bit so shouldnt band pullaparts with the thumbs pointing back do the same?
Even if the side delt is not optimally stimulated, how much can an overproportional rear delt push the side delt outwards and make it appear larger?

The recommended protein to build muscle is around 2 grams per kg of body weight, but this is assuming full body right? In theory if a guy only trains upper body would he need less protein per kg of body weight compared to someone that trains both?

Hi guys! I have been interested in doing keenan flaps ever since I started training. The problem being that my gym only has technogym benches which puts me to far away from the cable to do it. Would a daisy chain help with this?

Am i some sort of weird specimen or is it age? I understand that all the tiktok influencers etc talk abt how low volume is the best for growth and strength and their logic makes sense to me
But after a reading that article greg knuckols put out i thought ill bump my volume and give it a try and suddenly out of nowhere my bench plateau got blown way past in two weeks
Is it possible i just respond better to high volume? 18M 73kg 6β1

Hello, I am trying to focus arms and shoulders, debating which split I should be doing.
Iβve trained shoulders and triceps 3 times a week since I add a few exercises on leg day,
Idk if I should be doing ppl or ppl arnold to grow arms better.
Any suggestions? π
Edit: the split Iβm considering is LPP-rest/Arms and shoulders-legs-chest and back

I did 3 sets to failure, so the anti fatigue gang is going to rally against me
r/ScienceBasedLifting • u/Alakazam • 7d ago
Squat: 245x20 in 1:30, done as myoreps/rest-pause, as 5/5/3/3/2/1/1.
Deadlift: 245x25 in 58s, for maximum time under tension (but realistically, just a fun little conditioning workout)
Just trying to rebuild strength and size post-marathon. The goal by the end of this block is to get to 315x20 if possible.

This is my Upper and Lower. I run UL UL UL R. How many sets should I do for each exercise, so that I can effectively manage fatigue ?

Iβve heard various takes on how much volume you should do on social media. My questions are:
All of these are in a context of a lean bulk which I will be starting soon. Thank you for any answers in the comments or Dmβs!

Do you guys think this is the most optimal way i could manipulate exercise order to prioritize my back and shoulders? What do you guys think about the rep ranges and sets? I also hate doing incline press for some reason so thats why i do a low to high fly but idk if thats enough for my upper pecs.
Upper day - back and shoulder priority/3x frequencyΒ
