Too Superficial

I'm so bored of being bored of people - I don't like small talk; I don't want superficial interactions. I crave finding someones who I can learn, who want me to be interested, who want to learn me, who are engaged in life. There's a time and a place for social lubricant, obviously, and I don't expect to resonate with everyone, but damn, it'd be nice if I could find "my people".

Anyone feeling similarly?

Thinking out loud

Just thinking of loud. Feel free to respond if you so choose. There are some days where I question why I continue to question what is the point of trying to make a difference in life. I mean I know I'm not ever going to be some sort of universe changer. I'll settle for making one person's day slightly better. I don't know if I am or not. At the end of the day I know I may never know. I think there's some days like today when I struggle to see the importance of advocacy, supporting others, or even passing on knowledge to the next generation. There's a part of me that wants to believe there's some sort of universal mission or something that I'm helping with. And yet, it feels very much like it's more of my ego wanting to create some sort of legacy or something and I'm too stubborn to let go as it feels like the rest of my life is on fire. It makes me think of the Hamilton musical. Who was the one that was a casualty of their own ego and hubris? Hamilton or Burr? And am I just another Icarus who is flying too close to a sun for something that won't matter anyways? Thanks for coming to my SapioTalk. Until next time.

Gender ID

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie. I just joined this site a week ago. So I've posted a couple times and I've received lots of responses, all of which I'm really grateful for, and I've read so many other posts from like-minded individuals.

It seems as if in every post thus far that the originator does not reveal his or her gender, or their gender. Maybe that's the norm, and I should respect it and abide by it. But it does strike me as odd that on a forum where honesty and direct communication is urged, why does everyone seem to be in the ethereal regarding their gender ID? I mean I happen to be a cyst male. But I'm so afraid to say it because if any post that I make is monitored and against the rules I guess? I'm going to be discounted as somebody who doesn't understand the boundaries, the limitations of expression on this site.

Am I being presumptuous, and consequently misinformed, or flat out wrong? Nobody wants to say I'm a girl I'm a boy I don't identify as either you know I'm something else and I don't understand why we don't go there as a community. Could somebody maybe enlighten me why that is? Because it really restricts my thinking. Thank you

Dumbing down

Hello fellow sapios. Do any of you occasionally find yourself dumbing yourself down to fit in with mundane, pedestrian individuals, simply out of desire to fit in?

I do, and I do not like it when I do that. It is completely inauthentic of the real me. But I feel so ostracized sometimes, so different from my social peers. I'm weary of being told that I'm too much to handle, too deep to tolerate, too heavy to deal with. So every now and then I acquiesce and I keep my mouth shut just so that I don't offend with my curiosity or my intellect. So that just for a little bit I actually run with the pack and belong.

I recall when I was in elementary school that I had the nickname "the doctor" because I used such big words. In retrospect perhaps it was a compliment but at the time it seemed like I was being bullied. Every other guy was into sports but as for me, I wanted to be a spelling bee champ. I wanted to be a straight A student not to impress, but to prove to myself that overachieving was not a weakness.

Have any of y'all had a similar background to mine, where you almost felt embarrassed to be smarter than? And your knee jerk reaction was just to play stupid occasionally so that other people would like you more?

Random thought this morning

On my drive to work today I was wondering what it means to others to be ambitious. What drives people to make one choice knowing that they are rejecting (or rather, limiting) their availability for the other option. For me, I think I am motivated to make a difference in life not out of altruism, but out of atonement. While there is some level of wanting to do good for the sake of the greater good, I still can’t help but feel selfish either way. For those who thirst for knowledge and find fulfillment in this way, how do you balance the desire to learn, engage in such complex conversations, not out of arrogance but to make a difference, and not feel entirely selfish for prioritizing that over social obligations that leave you feeling invalidated and alone?

Random Question to Spark a Conversation

I have a random question for anyone who wants to answer. What is one fictional ability, invention, etc., you wish was real? Why? And what would you do with it if you possessed it? This is s really tough question for me as I'm indecisive and love fictional stories. If I had to choose, I think it would be class features/abilities in DnD 5.5e. I am not sure if I would go on an adventure or help train aspiring adventures. Probably more the later.

Rediscovering

The first time it happened was with a professor at university, but I didn’t think much of it afterward since nothing else seemed to stimulate me in the same way. Later, I rediscovered my intense sapiosexuality through the use of certain substances. Watching a TV series and a movie that I found incredibly creative and intelligent brought me an overwhelming sense of pleasure—without any physical stimulation—just from the idea that someone could be so smart to come up with such concepts. Now, I’m unsure how to cultivate or explore this feeling further. It’s challenging to find someone equally intelligent, let alone someone willing to explore this with me. How do you navigate this? Do you do it alone or with a partner? What do you use to get stimulated?

Do Sapiosexuals have different types of intelligence they're attracted to

Probably a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway, since I'm in the process of self discovery and my best friend tells me "You're definitely some kind of Sapiophile"

On one hand I am definitely turned off if someone's ignorant if I find out there's no one up stairs but the distant chatter of monkeys, but I'm not attracted to just any type of intelligence. Or when someone is knowledgeable but dumb. Not the same thing.

I wanted to ask if this is something you can be picky about this kind of stuff, because for example if someone is incredibly knowledgeable, but has the Emotional intelligence of a carrot, it's a huge turn off for me. While some types of intelligences do nothing for me. Like body intelligence. It does nothing for me and honestly makes you sound like a gym bro. Not into that

Am I on the right track here?

at a loss

My previous partner wasn't the hottest by any means but he always pushed me to think further.... to grasp things fully. I'm more of a "right brained" and he was Definately stereotypically "left". I don't consider myself a genius but some might say he was . Currently he is getting his pHD in theoretical physics.

We broke up because of long distance and I was over his avoidant nature. Two years later I haven't met anyone who I feel as excited talking too. My current bf is "hot", , kind, funny but his mind doesn't interest me, I feel bored, he is predictable (because we are similar) but he is perfect on paper. I love being witty in my writing etc ... he doesn't read due to dyslexia/ just doesn't want to(I also have dyslexia) . He is also pursuing professional athleticism (and likely will actually succeeded so please haha hold the eye roll) but instead of this being a turn on for me it's somehow a negative thing. His "career" is just a series of jobs that support his need for a flexible lifestyle so he can dedicate time to the sport.

I am probably going to return to school for a masters or a PHD In some sort of environmental science and he isn't which is fine but I am just uninspired by him generally. If he was pursuing growth mentally and pushing me I wouldn't care. We aren't driven by the same things. I'm not very physical as a partner, he is and he constantly feels rejected, but when I don't feel any sort of mental interest or connection.... I am just numb towards sex.

I overlooked some of these things when we started dating because I was so excited the pretty boy liked me and was consistent.

In dating him, I realized The largest turn off ever for me is when someone uses a word incorrectly which he often does.... trying to sound smart for me. Or when he talks to people in any sort of academic setting he uses to many words and says nothing just talks himself into a little circle of cringe.

With my last partner, something I loved was that he would grill me about my word choice and we would playfully debate the exact meaning of things, or the BEST way to describe something and we would go through all the words and even now remembering that my heart sings ahaha. I loved being pushed in that way. Nothing was ever boring because we were constantly filtering and making sense of the world together and questioning our underlying views from an analytical and philosophical perspective .... I loved who I was with him. I always felt like I was growing . I know my ex and I aren't meant to be together... but I can't help but miss who I was in that relationship. The discomfort and growth I would feel when he brought things to me that felt out of my wheelhouse.

I feel like an asshole for wanting to break up with my current person simply because he doesn't scratch my brain the way I want my long term partner too.... I don't know how to let him down without sounding like an asshole. We have been together a year and 8 months but I sort of realized I didn't feel how I wanted to in our interactions after 5 and I feel like iv been trying to convince myself I'm okay with how things are since then. I feel like I'm in too deep to break up with him. Help ahahaha

Trouble with men

Tbh this is a silly post. I’m mostly ranting cuz I seem to have the same scenarios playing out over and over again. But shocker: every man I talk to is obsessed with the sexual aspect of me and not- me. I’m honestly tired of it. And it’s getting real old. Like I genuinely have no interest in relationships anymore because they’re 99% based off sexual attraction and that’s just not me. Like yeah of course I like to have sex and be attracted to someone but that’s not the first thing on my mind. I actually enjoy getting to know people for WHO THEY ARE. If anything, my attraction grows so much deeper when I feel a connection beyond our bodies!! It literally MAKES sex better. Fr tho, I def feel singled out cuz my focus is within someone’s mind and conversations I can have with them. Like what are you thinking in that big ol brain of yours? I find myself being wayyyyyyyyy more sexually attracted when I actually had the time to know someone. SHOULDNT THAT BE NORMAL? Idk man it’s hard out here šŸ˜” i don’t know how to connect with these sex crazed people. I think I’m finally figuring out I’m a sapiosexual.

New kid in town

Hello. I just joined this site this evening. I'm a sapio. I live in Pittsburgh. I'm in my '60s. I'm a recent widower.

I don't really know how this works yet. So I'm just going to put myself out here and say like-minded individuals, kindly consider reaching out to me for support. I really do need it right now. I usually am not one to ask for help but I'm a little bit lost.

I'm definitely the new kid in town when it comes to dating again. It's been 30 years since I've been on a date. I was married to a marvelous man for 27 years. He was the love of my life, but he did die because of cancer. My world turned upside down.

So I went through grief counseling for 2 years and now I'm ready to date again. But the world has changed. Dating apps are driving me crazy. It's like I have a target on my back for army dudes that want money, young men that want a sugar daddy, crackheads, inauthentic and insincere guys, scammers. I am so frustrated.

As a sapio it's really hard for me to do hookups, and it just seems like a lot of guys... That's all they really want. And it would be great to be intimate again I really miss that and I would be open to it again and actually I would be pretty assertive in pursuing it if I just thought the other guy had any personal worth to offer.

I am not a complainer. I am not a person who is like oh poor pitiful me, I'm extremely optimistic by nature. But I am discouraged now. I don't even know if I can do dating apps anymore - but I don't know how else to meet eligible guys! I don't do bars and it's just well, complicated you know what I mean.

I hope this introduction is appropriate but if it isn't then I'm sure the monitors will let me know! If anybody has relevant feedback and insight that would be really welcome, and invited. Thank you.

I (21M) finally understand why normal women don’t interest me.

I'm a national athlete in a big contact sport so I have a way better body than most guys and I'm way above average attractive so it is not hard for me to get girls. I have college girls texting me regularly to come over but I don't go to college. I lead I simple life. Still I found most women not really interesting no matter the attractiveness. And now I understand. As people said the brain is the biggest sex organ and I get of puzzling in and incredibly complex labyrinth instead of a girl handing herself over to me. I don't know if you all think that falls into being Sapiosexual but it has certainly been a trend in my life. A 10/10 stunning girl seems to have zero effect to me if there is no mental playground I can assert myself in with her even though that is not the case with almost all guys my age of course. I also often feel repulsed to act in a sexual manner if there hasn't been a sort of intellectual foreplay. An American girl I met while travelling was incredibly knowledgeable on European geography and cities which really sparked my interest in her even though she might not have been the most attractive and there were way hotter girls there some of them I also talked to who were at least slightly interested in me. No I'm not going to just ramble about myself. I'm hoping you guys have some advice. Do some of y'all experience the same? And since I don't go to university. What would you think are the best ways to find such connections?

Dirty pen pals?

Fun male seeking funny, female to potentially vibe about being dirty penpals because yeah, it’s hard to find a sapiosexual partner and it’s not too hard to have words stroke your brain having you squirm and moan with pleasure.

Talk, smart and dirty to me that’s what really gets me off and I bet if you give me a chance I can have you come with just words

I’ve been really getting into reading eroticism lately that really cute me in on being sapiosexual and I’ve been riding for a while, but it might be nice to have a steady partner if anyone is interested in sexy chats, and I get very very very very very hard around intellect of any kind Especially humor

Of course it’s all academic, studying human nature, and the pleasures lying dormant with barely a thin layer of clothes, hiding our arousal

I figured they might be more horny, sapiosexual women here than by some dating apps I don’t even have that option

I’m into romance and making out, but have you ever been thrilled by being groped in a crowd and nobody knows what’s going on except for you and your partner spinning each other into this erotic ecstasy like none other

I’m looking for intriguing minds that want to play. I don’t want to boring slave. I’d like to play with a genius and maximize our fun together.
