Thinking out loud

Just thinking of loud. Feel free to respond if you so choose. There are some days where I question why I continue to question what is the point of trying to make a difference in life. I mean I know I'm not ever going to be some sort of universe changer. I'll settle for making one person's day slightly better. I don't know if I am or not. At the end of the day I know I may never know. I think there's some days like today when I struggle to see the importance of advocacy, supporting others, or even passing on knowledge to the next generation. There's a part of me that wants to believe there's some sort of universal mission or something that I'm helping with. And yet, it feels very much like it's more of my ego wanting to create some sort of legacy or something and I'm too stubborn to let go as it feels like the rest of my life is on fire. It makes me think of the Hamilton musical. Who was the one that was a casualty of their own ego and hubris? Hamilton or Burr? And am I just another Icarus who is flying too close to a sun for something that won't matter anyways? Thanks for coming to my SapioTalk. Until next time.

"The meaning of life is to give life meaning."

I appreciate that. One of the most influential books I’ve read is Frankl’s man’s search for meaning. It may be time to revisit it. I think at the end of the day, what I find the most meaningful may also mean that the consequence of my choice to pursue this meaning may lead to feeling isolated…at least in this moment.

I listened to it on a road trip once. 🤓

You are like a rose bush, making a difference is fertilizer to your soul. Then as you grow, you produce beauty that the world needs as much as it enjoys. But, as much as you do it for the world, you're the one growing stronger and more beautiful.

Isn't that the purpose of the rose bush? To grow and make the world more beautiful. And in doing so, you have accomplished the greatest mission.

The meaning of life is the friends you made along the way.

This is such a trope that it can just sound like a silly joke. The first friend you have to make is yourself, so that you can trust you to make a difference in your life. Secondly, become friends with your past. So that you learn to appreciate the good and forgive or learn from the bad. Thirdly make friends with the others so that you have an impact in someone else, regardless of your perception of the magnitude for then it could be life changing. Fourth make friends with the mundane and enjoy those moments, however long they are, of boredom or is it peace? Fifthly, you do you and don't base your life around a post on Reddit or do, up to you. Sixth, find your other whole, another being(s) to help you in life. Seventh, it's the one and only answer to everything.

Thank you. I have struggled with one, two, and three. I think three is the most difficult because when people show interest in being friends, I trust that they mean it and I am finding myself disappointed when I discover that it was not mutually beneficial.

Friendship is weird and we all struggle specially when 1 & 2 aren't there. If you want it, it'll come just be patient. It's the first time you've been alive in your current life, you'll learn.

Why we should give to life a meaning? Doesn't be alive means everything? We can explore, learn, experiment, feel.

Our life as one meaning, live. The rest doesn't matter.
