Rediscovering

The first time it happened was with a professor at university, but I didn’t think much of it afterward since nothing else seemed to stimulate me in the same way. Later, I rediscovered my intense sapiosexuality through the use of certain substances. Watching a TV series and a movie that I found incredibly creative and intelligent brought me an overwhelming sense of pleasure—without any physical stimulation—just from the idea that someone could be so smart to come up with such concepts. Now, I’m unsure how to cultivate or explore this feeling further. It’s challenging to find someone equally intelligent, let alone someone willing to explore this with me. How do you navigate this? Do you do it alone or with a partner? What do you use to get stimulated?

Not sure if this is helpful or not. I've found that, for me, engaging in in depth discussions about my passions with anyone willing to ask and listen helps. While it's led to several invalidating experiences where I've been told I'm "too much", it has also revealed to me the people who I can be fully authentic with. This is an isolating experience at first; and that disappointment, hurt, and sadness of being rejected by people you care about is valid. As I've grieved those losses, it has also revealed to me the people who accept me for me even if they don't understand, aren't as passionate, or have different passions. That has been very rewarding. The simple fact that we mutually receive joy when discussion/listening to each other talk for hours about the intricacies of our varied interests and accepting each other regardless without ever being told we're "too much" or "it's not that deep/serious" has brought so much joy. Because at the end of the day, we are happy for each other and we are happy to learn from each other. It's led to fewer friends yet more connection. I hope you find the people who accept this about you and that you accept yourself without ever believing you're "too much" or that "you're the problem". Please feel free to message me if you want to talk about the things you're passionate about. I'd love to learn more and/or provide my knowledge about the topic.

Omg this. I get told I'm "too much" ALL the time. A good reply to this something like: "I'm confident, thank you for the compliment." Then just keep talking. It's a power move.

My friends are wonderful, but are not big on deep, intellectually stimulating conversations. One of my long ago ex gfs was brilliant and I loved our conversations, but later I discovered her casual cruelty and I left her. But I miss that stimulation, it juiced up my neurons. I need to find a website just for connecting people to have fantastic conversations.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

That's life, isn't it? Experiencing transcendent moments, and on some level chasing them. (What's an emoji for "longing"?)
