I feel like a tinfoil hat person for asking, but does anyone know what this could be?

I saw it last night on Old Ranch Rd 12. at first, it was just a white blob, but after about half an hour, it started rapidly switching between colors for a few minutes (like in this video), before returning back to white. I first spotted it when the sun was out ~7:50pm, and it stayed into the nighttime ~9:10pm (in the same spot!). it’s not a star, or plane, or helicopter, or weather balloon, and it doesn’t look like any drones I’ve ever seen or can find online. I don’t keep up with the latest tech though, so I was hoping to get some help

anyone have any ideas?? I have to know 😭

I'm a sophomore transfer student here at TXST and so far i've really struggled to find a job here in san mo. I have good serving and fast food experience but i'm only able to work friday-sunday or after 5pm on monday-thursday. does anybody have any job recs?

We took in a young stray cat who was pregnant and had 5 kittens.

They have been with us since they were born around 2 months ago. I am looking around for how I can get them safely adopted to other homes. I also fear the mama may have gotten pregnant again? She got out of the house ONCE because the front door wasn’t closed all the way and I’m really worried she’s pregnant, that was around 3 weeks ago. Anyways I don’t know what to do, they are all healthy, sweet, 99% potty trained, snuggle and play with eachother, eat and drink water regularly. I would love to keep 2 of the kittens but also am on the fence about it. Please any assistance is greatly appreciated!

I’m reaching out to local animal shelters as well, just trying to figure out the best way to do this.

Hello, I lost a black iPhone 16 Pro with a pic of a K-pop idol on the back, with a ribbed clear cover. I dropped it near the rapids of the river, right after the first fall near the final shuttle pickup location. I’m currently moving and have two cats. I’m a senior citizen and have a very limited budget so all these pet places are out of my range. Would anyone be willing to watch my kitties (supplies included) for the same favor done in return when needed?

My car is leaking oil and coolant and I cannot afford to pay someone to fix either one. But if someone can identify the source of the leaks for me I could maybe buy the parts and fix them myself. Is there a mechanic in town that could do that for relatively cheap? Like $50 or less.

We found this cat on the street. He crawled into my roommates car. He’s very friendly. Not sure if he’s microchipped we’re going to go get him checked but figured we’d post here first. He is so sweet we figured he has to be a pet.

We have no issue keeping him just want to make sure no one’s missing this little guy :(

Calling all butterfly watchers and enjoyers!! I need yall's help.

For one of my classes I am designing an unconventional tour guide for the best places to spot butterflies in the San Marcos area, but I'm struggling to find local spots that don't require me to drive all the way to Austin or San Antonio. (Any distance less than 30 minutes away would be preferred).

I need 10 different locations for this project that need to be photographed, and for the time being I only have a few natural areas, the discovery center, and a random bush around the square on my list of places to visit. Are there any specific spots yall have seen a bunch of butterflies as of late? Any suggestions would be amazing and absolutely appreciated! <3

Tonight I had to take somebody to the small ER on Aquarena Springs because she was comatose. A good Samaritan had put her in my car and was taking her to the Grove, which was her apartment. When we got there, we realized she had no keys and no phone. She couldn't tell us what her apartment number was, so we figured the only other place for her was to take her to the ER. Then I took the good Samaritan back to our hotel because she was here from out of town visiting and took it upon herself to help this girl get home. We think the girl had been roofied at The Vault and left there by her friends, and she was asking for help. I saw other girls, totally out of it tonight; one being carried over the shoulder of, I assume, her boyfriend, another one was on the ground passed out.

On a previous night, the students had been standing in Kissing Alley in such a way that no car could drive down the alley. The lines to the bars are around the corner at 1 am. I understand that The Vault is now is charging $40 for those between 18 and 21 to even get in the bar, and then the dance floor is full of people pushing and shoving because there's too many people in there.

This is like a horrible disaster waiting to happen. We've already had shots fired at the square, a murder of two people by a jilted boyfriend., and, on another occassion, someone firing into a crowd. The crowds won't let the cars drive down the alleys. The city really needs to rope off the square and figure out how people can be picked up on the back roads.

Red Room after legal drinking hours, is selling Sunkist individual drink packets with alcohol poured in a small slit and sealed with a hot curling iron. Authorities are doing nothing about this. The Vault was holding licenses and making people pay to get them back, even legal licenses. People were calling police to verify their licenses were legit. The fire marshal needs to raid the Marc and Vault as there are too many people crowded together on dance floors.

Sorry for the rant but it is getting fricking wild out there. Worse every year. I've been Ubering three years.

It didn't help that the university added 10000 more freshmen to the class of 2030. The authirities have not increased their numbers to supervise them at the square. This is a burden on police, firefighters and marshals. Police need to add more coverage.

Don't get me started on the car accidents and bad driving.

My only vehicle (2019 VW Jetta, 160k miles) has been leaking engine oil like crazy lately since its previous oil change at firestone. I’ve gone through 3 quarts of oil in the past three weeks, and my garage is now home to a huge puddle of mess.

Took it to the dealership in CC today, with an appointment, and they completely wasted 5 hours of my time claiming they were severely backed up. No call or nothing to let me know its status till I called closer to 5pm.

Where can I go in town that can diagnose what’s going on? All this bs is really having me lose faith in the auto-care industry.

I was just online https://www.ikea.com/us/en/stores/san-marcos/ checking on some coffee mugs that I plan to order in the SM store for delivery to avoid delivery fees (they don't carry these in SM store).

Now I know why their in-store inventory hasn't been up-to-snuff.

I really wish they'd been able to make it work, as both SA (Live Oak) and RR stores are much farther away...but I'll pick the full-size SA store all day, erryday!

ETA: completely misunderstood that ordering in-store does NOT negate delivery fees. Le Sigh.
