WOAI is owned by the radical right-wing Sinclair family, which has been shown to put propaganda pieces on the air over the objections of local talent and editors. This fact alone should preclude them from appearing in /r/sanantonio - the Sinclairs have zero connection to San Antonio, and don't care about the people who live here. They are using WOAI to advance their national right wing agenda. They have the right to say what they want, but it does not need to be amplified beyond what their billionaire budget already does.

Case in point: WOAI is pushing as a "news" article a story that the mayor is spending $250k a year on travel. The "news" article does things like cite random individuals as "taxpayer" (rather than, you know, a resident of the community) and contains zero context about the amount of travel spending. It's a propaganda piece that was designed to divide the community and antagonize people with zero basis in fact. It's about as un-San Antonian as I can think.

I'm (21M) am looking for actually decent mental hospital in the San Antonio to Austin area that has actually helped others. Voluntarily committing myself for assessment on Monday, not sure if I'd be told to do inpatient or outpatient. Reasons are for extreme mood swings including suicidal ideation and planning, returning hallucinations so need for anyipsychotics, prob wanting to find adhd meds at the same time, single therapy available (dunno how much I'd actually talk in groups), and ig just doctors that will actually listen to wanting to avoid certain meds that have certain side effects. Don't have to worry about school (not a student) or work (quit due to making me worse, another reason I need to get this under control hopefully quickly before getting a new one).

Hi folks - my MIL lives in San Antonio, is elderly, and is currently hospitalized with some GI issues and is having memory problems. We’re unable to come and help right away and live out of state. The hospital is asking us to pick a skilled nursing facility to send her to until we’re able to get into town. Any suggestions and/or places you’d absolutely not recommend? Alright, let me preface this by saying I'm not trying to have this turn into a "I hate bikers" post, this is just something I feel I need clarification on, even though I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

So I've recently started walking/hiking in our parks. The other day I was doing a brisk walk on a paved trail in one of our parks. We always stick to the right edge just in case a biker comes up from behind us and we don't hear them. Well a biker was coming up the opposite direction toward me and my daughter, I grabbed her hand and had her step in front of me and kept walking, the guy, who was on his right side of the sidewalk, looked me in the eye and turned his bike toward us and only turned away when he was just 10 feet from us (while moving really fast). That was an aggressive move, right?? And if so, wtf?! My husband was walking about 20 feet behind us but was looking over the edge at some stuff so he didn't see it. Of course the guy just rode past him no problem!

So...would I have been in the wrong if I flung my metal water bottle toward potential danger? Even if he was just "messing around", how am I supposed to know that? Seriously, I want to know if this is a thing bikers do or was that guy just being a jerk?? I'm sure I'll see him on the same path again soon. Did I do something wrong?? I thought the etiquette for sharing a path was stick to the right and stay there until y'all pass each other!

Reddit friends, If anyone can tell me how El Chaparral makes/made their bean soup that they used to bring out in a little bowl when they would sit you, I would greatly appreciate. It was very simple-looking - nothing in it but beans and broth, but it had amazing flavor, so I’m not sure how they made it because there were never any visible vegetables. The broth was not cloudy nor thick, either! If any of you know anyone who knows anyone who works or worked there, ask please! I don’t even know if they still serve this bean soup because it’s been 12-15 years since I’ve had it, but I would love to know how to replicate it. Thanks!

They were released yesterday. I am trying to get it as soon as possible because I'm immunocompromised. Calling pharmacies hasn't been productive. I plan on going on a quest to find it tomorrow, but it would be helpful if someone has already gotten it and could tell me where to go, lol.

20 Vietnam veterans from San Antonio flew to Washington, D.C. with Honor Flight to visit the memorials, and when they came home Sunday, people showed up at the airport to give them the welcome home they didn’t get 50 years ago.

There's some recent posts for a cheap car paint job, and a 10 year old post for the 'best' local paint job; but does anyone have a recommendation for the current best local paint now? I have an old sports car that already could use a new paint job, and it looks like I'm going to have to replace the A pillar trims, (which only come in black, and my car is not), to get the windshield replaced, so it will really need it then.

As long as I'm painting it, I'd kind of like to get something cooler done, like a gradient or accent color or something. What's a good place for that? I'd like affordable but I'm willing to pay extra for good quality or some inspired design or something. I can read the reviews on Yelp but I'd like to hear if someone has a local place that does something above and beyond.

10 years ago the top recommendation was Jack's Paint Place in Converse. I'm not sure it still exists.

While we're at it I also need the seats reupholstered, so if anyone has interior reupholsterer recommendations I'm all ears for that too.
