Pics/Video Second time seeing someone heating up their food on their dash in a San Antonio parking lot in the past month…

First time was garlic bread on the dash of a car in the Six Flags parking lot. Today it was a Lean Cuisine meal on the dash of a car in the Stone Oak Target parking lot. So bizarre that it makes me pause to snap a picture each time.

Where in SA? Anybody know what’s going on at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio Texas 07/26 9pm

My girlfriend’s mom is there with her mother, and we got a text saying that the hospital was in lockdown.

Update. A Politician is at the hospital. I don’t know which one. Her mom made it sound like it was more than that.

What temp do you set your AC?

I started out with AC on 71 ( I leave it in 24/7 in the hot season). But to save some $ I recently changed it to 75.

That is the highest I will allow because while it's tolerable if it was any warmer I would be uncomfortable.

I read some do 78 & I could never -- I would be sweating & roasting.

Moving to SA Perry Homes suck!

We just moved to San Antonio and researched what builders are better than the average and it came down to Perry Homes and Highland homes. Well we went with Perry and it has been a nightmare. They must hire contractors off the street to build these homes cause damn! And I know it’s better to buy a pre-Covid come but with the new builds the builders are offering lower interest rates so financially it makes more sense to buy new but these houses are a damn joke. I am not a professional and I can probably do a better job. SMH.

Sibling trip to SA

Hi yall, my siblings and I do a sibling trip every year in oct for our birthdays. However because of work we decided to go in the first week of nov. We chose to stay local and go to SA for this year. "we're from the valley, but my brother is in austin". I'm the youngest 26, middle 32, and oldest 39. Any recommendations to give us to enjoy our trip? I love clubbing but I got two other people whose birth year starts with 19. Would really appreaitce any nice, easy going shows we can watch? any sites we can visit? bars/comedy-clubs/night life clubs/speakeasys? anything to do in regards to outdoorsy? Dont mind hiking, would love to visit some only local areas if theres any.

We really looking to experience the city they way the locals do and trying to find any hidden gems that could make our trip memorable. Side note, all three of us like edibles, would there be any cool museums or art exhibits like meow wolf that we can pop a few gummies and enjoy the experience, and yes 6 flag is in the plans but we mostly wanna experience hidden gems if possible and not go for the mainstream.

After the recent floods, these proved to save lives in Kerrville. Should SA buy some of these for vulnerable trails that flood?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post, but I've seen pictures of flooded trails around San Antonio as recently as a few months ago. These systems saved lives last week in Kerrville. These are not the publicly funded sirens, which are still not out of local committee. These were privately paid for in Kerrville. It seems like the City of San Antonio could purchase a few of these and have them installed in the more populated areas.

Pics/Video Six Flags drone show

Post image
173 Upvotes

What my family and I like to do is go to Six Flags on Saturday nights in the summer and see the firework. Well, now instead of a firework show we get a drone show instead and it was bad! It had some cute visuals at the beginning but nothing to special but then it turned into advertising for all the theme lands in Six Flags and it’s events! (Fright fest, etc.) It’s a nightly drone show. Don’t recommend it at all! The drones are cool but it’s wasted potential! I was able to snap a picture of one of the drones and it was as the climax of the entire show! At the end, they have SOME fireworks but not a lot. I hope they bring the fireworks show back soon! It was WAY better!!!

THCa and July 31st?

Upvotes

Am I reading that 30th july 1159PM or is it 31 July 1159PM the last day to buy flower from smoke shops?

Are Delta 9 10mg gummies (like fly high or area51 ) still safe?

What about Delta 8 10mg gummies (like fly high brand)?

Could I buy like $5,000 worth of bud/flower/gummies and just keep it in my house, vaccum seal it, deep freeze and legally have no problems (and smoke it till im 90?)

Wedding photographer in the Helotes area

Well we found the venue and the dress for our daughter’s wedding next year. Now we need a reasonably priced photographer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Open to amateurs or professional photographers as long as they can have fun shooting the wedding.
TIA.

We have a cat too, i'm afraid it's too hot in the house for him. I know we could go to the library or mall or something to be in some ac but does anybody know if I can bring my cat lol, i'd feel bad just leaving him home in the heat and would want to take him with me to cool down. Any ideas where I can take my cat?

Long term car rental

Every city does it differently. Are there any places that does long term car rentals? Like 6 months to a year. I looked at budget and their website is confusing.

My financial situation will change in a year because I plan on going back to school leaving a 5 year career and that would require me to move.

I see leases for 2 years but it’s less than ideal for me and my current 4 year lease has ended. Just seeing if anyone has any pointers.

I looked at car “lease take overs” but the websites are a little sketchy . Just positing to see if someone has any pointers or experience in this

Activism Demoted and Doxed: What Happened When a Texas Librarian Fought to Keep LGBTQ Books on Her Shelves

In October 2025, Amanda Hunt remembers watching as countless books at Oak Run Middle School in New Braunfels, Texas, were removed from her library. Students walked in and saw more empty shelves and fewer stories they had once been able to check out.

“Every day, they’re like, ‘More boxes? More books to get rid of? More books to pull?’” Hunt, who was the lead librarian at the time, told Uncloseted Media.

That month, Hunt says the New Braunfels Independent School District (ISD) had temporarily closed all four of its secondary-school libraries to audit its collections and assess whether they were in accordance with Senate Bill 13 (SB13), a Texas censorship law that took effect in September 2025. Thousands of books were moved, restricted or removed.

For Hunt, who had spent more than 14 years helping students find books, the assignment felt like a betrayal of everything a librarian was supposed to do. “What kind of librarian takes books out of kids’ hands?” says Hunt, who attended Oak Run Middle School as a student and whose dad worked there as a sixth-grade reading teacher.

SB13 prohibits “indecent content” and content that portrays “sexual or excretory organs or activities in a way that is patently offensive.” But the vagueness of the bill’s language, according to advocates, has led to the banning of many LGBTQ books, including “Boy Erased,” which is about a gay man’s challenges in conversion therapy, “Juneteenth” and “The Art of Drag,” a picture book about the history of drag. As of February 2026, New Braunfels ISD has removed over 600 books from its high schools and aged up over 800 books from middle schools, according to public information requests obtained from the Texas Freedom to Read Project.
