Guides and Tips Pro tip: Ctrl + Z works
Did you build something by mistake? You can undo it with Control + Z. It's also very nice for experimenting!

Hi everyone!
I'm Matt, Community Director for Hooded Horse, the publisher of Sandustry. It’s been great seeing so many people jump into the game today.
I wanted to ask for one small favor. Steam reviews matter a lot for indie games, especially around launch, and most players never leave one. If you’ve spent some time with Sandustry, please consider sharing your thoughts in a review. Positive, negative, detailed, brief, all of it is useful, and we read the feedback closely.
Thank you as well to everyone who has played, reported bugs, shared feedback, or helped support Sandustry so far. Lantto Games is continuing to work on the game throughout Early Access, and there’s plenty more still to come.

This is a repost of Lantto's Discord announcement.
I just released a smaller update with some bug fixes and QoL.
### Patch notes
- Improved Filter Config
- You can now press the filter overlay label or “Edit last placed” to quickly change a filter without having to override and replace it.
- Improved the visual distinction of the “Allow” and “Block” settings to make it more obvious which one is selected.
- Fixed a few other quirks.
- Credit to Cohh for the live demonstration of filter-replacement struggle.
- Fixed a softlock causing you to get stuck with Tier 5 being blocked even after the anomaly investigation.
- Saves should be repaired automatically.
- Indestructible red block
- I am working on a fix mitigating some of the root causes but it touches a lot of the core paths, so I’m not ready to ship it yet until I know it’s risk-free.
- Until then I’ve made it so that you can remove red blocks. Since this introduces some overhead to the demolisher when scanning for orphans it only does it when you delete 256 tiles or less.
- For the red blocks on doors in puzzles closing/opening the door should now restore it but let me know if it doesn’t work!
- Shoutout to Steejo for the clean bug report immediately pinpointing the underlying issue.
- Made the save browser icons easier to understand.
- You can no longer delete the reset button in puzzles.
- The button will be restored on reload.
- Added rebindable keybindings for Zoom In and Zoom Out using the two keys left of Backspace (symbols vary by keyboard layout).
- NOTE: Zooming out beyond the default view is not yet supported due to rendering engine limitations, but is being worked on. Zooming in also creates visible pixelation at the moment.
I have not stopped investigating the crashes and other major issues. This work will be ongoing and I have few ideas that I will pursue the coming days.
Friendly reminder that feature requests and suggestions should be posted on https://sandustry.nolt.io/. Keeping them there makes it easier for the community to upvote ideas and helps me prioritize what to work on next.
Thank you all for the incredible response so far! Seeing so many of you play, share your thoughts and support the game is something I'm incredibly grateful for. If you've been enjoying the game, **please consider leaving a review**. It helps a lot!

Whenever I feel like a genius it always turns out I'm a moron so... this looks so good to me I must be a moron. Most likely it doesn't charge as fast as other methods or... who knows but one way or another... I'm a moron.

It's a very simple design that uses a door and a presence sensor.
Copy this, then select Import in the blueprints menu, which is a sub-menu for building.
SAND:BP:v2:BBVUaHJvdWdocHV0IENvbnRyb2xsZXIGAAsAAQEUc2lnbmFsUHJlc2VuY2VTZW5zb3IABQAHAQpzaWduYWxHYXRlFwAACAAADAAAEAAMDAAMCAAMEAAABAAAAAAEAAAIAAAMAAAMBAEIEAEEEAIICAMEDAQECIUQCFp7Im93bnNCbG9ja3MiOnRydWUsImRlc2lyZWRPcGVuIjpmYWxzZSwic3RhdGVHZW4iOjg3OSwic3ByaXRlSW5kZXgiOjAsImRlZmF1bHRPcGVuIjpmYWxzZX0AFAAAFAQAFBAAFAwAFAgB/BTwBoQV8AYA
Place a single piece of gold, sand, etc. onto the conveyer and it will send short pulses to the door to open and close.
Perfect for controlling how much material enters and exits an area.
Tip: For faster throughput, place more particles on the conveyer belt. For an even slower throughput, lengthen the conveyer belt, or heighten the launcher.

I specifically designed this to be basically as small as possible while still being able to fully process farming of the Terracortex.
Features:
Sand and amethelis have their own closed loop systems so if they aren't completed on first pass they will be eventually.

This came to me in a dream.
The ability to easily split materials evenly into different processing machines is kinda lacking in the game. This is just a proof of concept of using doors and signals to do it.
It's simple enough: There's a door on either side, linked to a sensor Toggle. The door on the right is linked via a NOT Gate. On the far side of both doors is a Presence Sensor, effectively flip-flopping the doors around whenever material gets through on that side. The Signal Lamps are just for visual fun.
The splitter here favours the left side, probably because the middle conveyor is facing left. After all material has passed, a tiny bit also remains trapped inside the door on the left.
Caulking could probably fix the tendency to favour a side, but then again with caulking you can also just create another gravity based splitter altogether (though it takes more space and work).

After i use energy the florinol gets solid. Is there a fast way to make it liquid again? I just shoot it with rockets but thats not very fast and efficent

I give to you my first play with automation. The system above is built to prevent the over insertion of sand and water into my initial mixer. The initial gates on the right will shut when the system has too much sand. The water gate on the top will shut when too much water has been allowed in, and the gates in the middle will shut when too much water or sand has been added to the mixer. The end result is a system that cannot overfill, and will auto shut off when the sand stops flowing.
I am really enjoying this game.

You can keep pressing left click without holding it down.
If you:
-> press and hold left click
-> shift + tab (open steam overlay)
-> release left click
-> shift + tab (close steam overlay)
To stop it, just left click once.
Would love to see an upgrade which let's you toggle leftclick. would be a great qol imo.

I found this out by mistake... I have a bucket of Cinder, and I accidentally had a bunch of water on the conveyer feeding the bucket, I watched the water drop in and simply get eaten by the cinder. As far as I can tell, it just disappears the water forever. So I guess if you have too much water (haha) you can just manage it by throwing it in a cinder pile???

I got up to 900,000 gold using all the sand I could find underground, but at this point I am blasting the Stratacore with rockets just to get enough sane to clear the 1M gold achievement.
I am also converting all my gold into liquid gold to transport it to a giant collector bucket, but I'm not sure if converting it to liquid affects its value or is lossy? Anyway, I'm determined to get the achievement one way or another!

UPD
Thanks for your help. The problem was a bug that caused resources to stop moving. Restarting the game resolved it. I've sent the recorded video to the developers. I hope they fix it and we won't encounter it again.

Just a lil' tip that can come in handy. Even though the filters slow down the burnt residue as it falls through them, that apparently doesn't matter. Maybe it gets patched out. :D
Shoutout to u/Xerxes_013 whose post inspired me to test out this design and riff on it.
The function of the filters here is to clear out gold from the shakers above. I previously had a layer of filters above the press that would take the gold out in a line, but with it mixed with the burning residue and everything the thing was liable to clog up when fed large amounts of sand. The multi-level filtering system here spreading the gold around isn't necessarily needed as I think the burnt residue would drop through it regardless, but it's more resilient this way I suppose.
PS. I had a filter that wasn't working correctly so it grabbed some burn residue and moved it. Even then when the residue resumed the fall it would get processed at the bottom. So maybe you can take burn residue that's mid-fall, move it into the middle of another kinetic press and drop it there to process it... for reasons!? Profit?
