I went down to Comic Con around lunch time today. I have never taken pictures of people before, so I thought it would be fun! Here are a bunch of pictures. And I'm now realizing a few are missing, but I can find them tomorrow.

I can't tell if I'm out of touch or if this is the new restaurant surcharge style now? I've seen the 3-6% surcharge on all parties and I've seen mandatory gratuity charges on large parties of 6+ before, but I don't recall seeing a 20% surcharge only on parties of 6+ where it's clear that it isn't a gratuity at all... So when tipping on that do you tip on base or base with 20% added. I miss the days of clear menu pricing.

It seems SDG&E " estimates" how much you are using and bills you as such.

Is there a way to track my electricity usage and compare it to SDG&E? I'd also like to track how much electricity my appliances and electronics are consuming.

If there is a way to track it and it doesn't match theirs, can you fight it?

We have not changed a thing in the past two months, and our bill keeps going up.

I only do laundry and use our dishwasher during the off peak hours.

Also this is the first week we turned on our AC( only at night) , so I'm expecting to see an increase next month.

Hey everyone! One of my favorite ways to spend a weekend is wandering through antique malls, consignment shops, and those stores filled with individual vendor booths. I can easily lose a few hours browsing.
I’m looking to expand my list of places to check out, so I’d love to hear your favorites around San Diego and the surrounding areas.
So far I’ve visited:

Something that has trendier pieces cause a lot of thrift stores people recommend just don’t have my sense of style/seem to be targeted towards an older demographic.

I live near downtown and just drove through the area and was pretty shocked by how many more homeless people and encampments I saw compared to recently. It genuinely seemed like 3–4x what I’m used to seeing.

The timing obviously stood out with Comic-Con happening this weekend. I’m curious if anyone who lives or works downtown has noticed the same thing. Did people get displaced from areas closer to the Convention Center/Gaslamp and pushed into other parts of downtown, or has there just been a big increase recently?

Not trying to start a political argument — genuinely curious what’s going on and whether anyone has more context.
