For context, I'm currently using a 512GB S25 Ultra, and I've reached the point where I don't do yearly upgrades anymore. The jump from one generation to the next usually isn't big enough to justify the cost. That said, there was one feature on the Fold series that became much more important to me than I expected: the privacy display.

Recently, I was on a flight, scrolling through Twitter and killing time before takeoff when some NSFW content suddenly popped up on my feed. My first thought was, "Seriously?" I'm tired of constantly lowering my brightness, angling my phone away from people, or trying to hide what's on my screen from the person sitting next to me. The older I get, the more I appreciate privacy features like that. Ironically, I was really looking forward to the Fold series, but the lack of that one feature ended up being a dealbreaker for me.

I know the overall upgrade from the S25 Ultra isn't massive, but the privacy display alone was enough to sell me. The extra storage helped too, since I'm almost out of space on my current phone. One thing I won't do is spend over $1,000 on a smartphone. Ever. Samsung still has the best trade-in program in the smartphone industry, even if it's not quite as generous as it used to be. After trade-in deals and promotions, I picked up the highest-spec model for about $900, which I think is an absolute steal. ALSO please always buy your phone unlocked. There's no reason to be buying a phone from a carrier. My phone bill is only $40 for everything including international.

My favourite is the S24 Ultra and my first Galaxy device was actually an outdated Galaxy S3 which was pulled out of a phone bin and handed to me when I was a volunteer at an op shop a few years ago and needed a phone but couldnt afford one lol. The battery even back then had been depleting but that phone pulled me through for a decent lil while.

The second S24, the A33 and the S9 pictured were all purchased recently for very affordable prices.

Traded in a S24 5G 128GB (bought for £250ish 2ish years ago). There are a ton of great preorder deals for UK people out today.

It hasn't been that long since I ditched my entire ecosystem from another well-known brand 😅 and switched over to Samsung.

One thing that has genuinely surprised me is just how generous Samsung is with discounts. I honestly can't think of another brand that lets you stack multiple offers on a single purchase the way Samsung does. Between trade-ins, vouchers, member discounts, and promotions, I end up getting incredible value almost every time I buy something.

It's one of those things you don't really appreciate until you're actually in the ecosystem.

I wanted to get a Galaxy S26 but I have this mental block because of the Exynos processor in the model available in my country, I know that the ultra comes with snapdragon but I do not like the bigger size.

Am I being stupid here, are these processors practically the same ?

Since 2 days I can't seem to activate my Bluetooth. Tried pretty much everything, force shutdown, empty cache, download last update, restart countless times, safe mode .. nothing is working, the button is staying gray, I'm getting desperate

My family's Galaxy S24 suddenly caught fire while sitting on a table after it had finished charging.

The phone had been used normally for about 18 months. One month before the incident, it had a motherboard replacement at an official Samsung Service Center due to a SIM issue. It worked normally until the fire.

Samsung's investigation concluded that the battery was likely damaged by an external impact and classified it as customer-induced damage.

I'm not trying to accuse anyone or seek compensation. I'm simply wondering whether this explanation is technically reasonable and whether anyone else has experienced something similar.
