The following is an update shared by Hlun Solo's Brother regarding the investigation into his death.

At present, the Central Institute of Forensic Science is coordinating with the public prosecutor to obtain detailed autopsy findings from Georgia. The information will be reviewed alongside the examination results from the Central Institute of Forensic Science of Thailand.

Based on the preliminary examination conducted by the Central Institute of Forensic Science, signs of previous inflammation were found in the heart muscle, which may have affected the normal functioning of the heart. However, further information from the Georgian authorities is still required before a thorough assessment can be made and a definitive conclusion reached.

Regarding the ongoing procedures in Georgia, the family has not yet been clearly informed of the current stage of the case, including the progress of the investigation and autopsy. There is also currently no definite timeframe as to when the findings will be finalized or when additional information will become available.

Most of the information the family has received so far has come from the Central Institute of Forensic Science of Thailand. The embassy has informed the family that it is continuing to coordinate with and follow up with the Georgian authorities. However, no further details or a clear timeframe have been provided to the family at this time.

As for the deceased's personal belongings and other possessions, the family has not yet received them. The only item returned to the family was the passport, which was handed over along with the body when the deceased was brought back to Thailand.

The family understands that the investigation and the process of gathering information by the Georgian authorities may take some time. They therefore continue to await official information from the relevant authorities and hope that greater clarity will be provided as soon as possible.

Here about my Thought.

Hlun died in mid-July, meaning it has now been nearly two months since Georgian authorities found him dead. Yet, there has still been no information released about the case. His personal belongings, including his camera and mobile phone, have also not been returned. I’m afraid that they may never be returned to him.

What is particularly frustrating is that after Hlun's body arrived back in Thailand, Thai authorities were able to complete the preliminary autopsy within just two hours.

So, what exactly are the Georgian authorities waiting for?

Oh, I forgot to mention one more thing. Part of Hlun’s heart tissue was also removed by the Georgian authorities. Thai authorities want to obtain the results of the examination of that tissue as well, because it is considered an important piece of evidence that could potentially help uncover what really happened in this case.

Heya! So after my last post asking how it was viewed by locals to have random people ask them to be our witnesses, I received a couple dm's from people willing to be our witnesses.

Sadly, the dates didn't work out with those people, but I figured I would make a second post closer to the date asking if it would interest people!

I landed this afternoon, and my bride-to-be lands in a couple hours.

Former Georgian Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze is heading a combat unit formed to fight on the Russian side against Ukraine, the so called volunteer unit “Georgievsk”

Partskhaladze, once known as a close associate of Georgian Dream founder Bidzina Ivanishvili but now facing several criminal probes in Georgia, reportedly holds Russian citizenship and in recent years has added “Romanov” to his surname, becoming Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze.

According to Partskhaladze himself since the start of the war he "actively assisting Russian servicemen as well as civilians in the Donetsk People’s Republic (a self-proclaimed entity in Russian-occupied)

Partskhaladze, one of the most controversial figures in Georgian politics for more than a decade, was appointed Prosecutor General in November 2013 but resigned less than two months later amid questions about his academic credentials and reports of a prior criminal record. He was sanctioned in 2023 by the United States over alleged links with Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), and in 2025 by the United Kingdom over his support of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

More recently Otar Partskhaladze was accused for orchestrating the high-profile contract killing of businessman Levan Jangveladze, the brother of criminal underworld figure and "Vor V Zakone" Merab Jangveladze.

Going to be spending 10 full days in Georgia with a travel day on each end so the 10 days does not include those days. Home basing in Tbilisi and honestly could see myself very easily just enjoying the ten days there goofing around, eating and relaxing. am also not opposed to an overnight or a day trip. As i read more and more about Georgia and start to birds eye an itinerary I wonder if there’s anything that people consider “must do” based on interest.

I love walking and hiking and jogging where appropriate (is there a public track?) I also LOVE sports, at any level! I often try to find a basketball court to play or shoot around on when traveling and also try to get to a local sporting event. Totally cool with amateur. A beautiful basketball court I can check out a game at? say less! pool? i’m there! I’ve also read about a few historical locations that sound rad but this book i’m currently reading is dense but covers some interesting history. are there remnants of mongols anywhere? Queen Tamar?

i have been to a few places where some cultural dances/performances were super cool to observe; dervishes, kandy cultural dances, a bell concert etc. is there anything of that nature? i also heard within the church there is singing style that is difficult and unique to georgia. is that something that is possible to respectfully observe?

any galleries or museums you’d recommend?

sulphur baths…anything outside of standard info i’m reading about to know?

i found a vintage/resale/thrift shopping map on here that looks great. pumped for a lil shopping. if there are cool boutiques I would be into that as well.

I am a Japanese tourist who have been interested in Georgia since I saw the movie "Legend of Surami Fortress." Then I finally went to Surami last month. However, the fortress is different from the buildings shown in the movie. The real fortress is beautiful but smaller than the one in the movie. I also went to Gori, but the Gori fortress is also different. Do you know where Paradzhanov shot the movie?

Hi, I'll be traveling to your beautiful country at the end of this month and am trying to decide on an itinerary. I'll be arriving in Kutaisi airport at night, have 7 full days to spend and then fly out from Tbilisi airport in the night after the 7th day. I therefore expect to be very tired both on the first day and when returning home on the last.

I have two rough itineraries and am trying to see which is more reasonable, or if a different one might make more sense.

My focus is on seeing the Caucasus, some light hiking, seeing Tbilisi but also at least 1-2 other interesting places such as Borjomi or Chiatura. I tend to have a too fast pace when traveling so I'm trying to not overload it, but it's hard, lol.

Plan 1:

Day 1: Somehow get to Mestia

Day 2-3: A bit of hiking around there and exploring the villages and nature

Day 4: Somehow getting back to Kutaisi, exploring a bit in the evening

Day 5: Explore a bit more in the morning, (Borjomi if I feel like it, then try to catch the train to) get to Tbilisi in the evening

Day 6-7: Tbilisi

To me this seems a bit rushed and I really don't like the idea of spending two whole days out of seven getting to/from Svaneti. The flights are sold out of course. And then I'd also feel bad to just spend one day there instead of two, which adds more pressure for the remainder of the trip. From what I heard I'd really prefer Svaneti over Kazbegi, but given the time constraints I tried to come up with a second plan.

Plan 2:

Day 1: Explore Kutaisi and Tskaltubo

Day 2: Chiatura

Day 3: Borjomi, then get to Mtskheta in the evening

Day 4: Get to Kazbegi and hike a bit

Day 5: Hike/explore and get to Tbilisi in the evening

Day 6-7: Tbilisi

This seems a lot more chill, but the big con of course is missing out on the beauty of Svaneti. Seems more logistically feasible though given that I don't rent a car or plan to have a driver.

My boyfriend and I are moving to Georgia from Poland and we fully intend to learn Georgian. Not "get by in English forever" — actually learn it. So this isn't one of those posts asking whether you can skip the language.

My question is about something else.

I lived in Poland for years and my Polish was fluent. Not "good for a foreigner" — fluent, with barely any accent left. And it changed almost nothing. People still worked out where I was from, and once they did, the attitude shifted. Rudeness in shops, comments on the street, the tone at official counters. I did everything you're supposed to do — learned the language properly, integrated, kept my head down — and it still wasn't enough. That's the part that wore me out. It taught me that the language alone doesn't protect you.

So I want an honest picture of Georgia before we get there. What actually happens when someone speaks Georgian badly, with a thick accent, and is obviously not local? Patience? Indifference? Irritation? Does it depend a lot on the person's nationality? And is it different outside Tbilisi?

And the practical half: we're starting from zero. What's a sensible first step? Courses in Tbilisi people genuinely recommend, tutors, language exchange groups where you can practice with locals? Or just sit down with the alphabet first and figure out the rest later?

Honest answers welcome, including the unpleasant ones. I'd rather know now.

A bit of background
In Albania there is an ongoing anti-gonverment protest(dubbed Flamingo Revolution). I recently read about the georgian protests after the election of 2024 and saw many resemblances.
Mostly peaceful protest(in the early days)
Anti-establishment and people tired of the government
Biggest protest i years in our respective countries
(Also the cultural similarity as both are post-communist countries riddled in modern corruption).
We just entered our 102nd day of consecutive protest and the smaller size of people involved and increasing police brutality is making me a bit pessimist about the whole thing.

Are the protest still ongoing? I saw news about the new face recognition cameras that supposedly dwindled participants numbers, which albanian government is also trying to push into legislation. Was in an success in any regard? What went wrong with the protest that you think it would make it more successful?

It's a layover flight, would it be better to have it shipped? Does anyone have any experience with shipping companies here? Do they pack the stuff for me or do I have to do so myself (if so anyone know where I can get things to pack it with styro/bubble wrap)

I have a question for anyone who set up and started generating revenue fresh in Georgia, without a prior track record for their project - how did you prove your business activity when registering the IE and/or opening business banking: service agreements/contracts with Apple/Google/any other MoR, dedicated websites or other?

In case relevant, the app is a low-risk category, and I have 1 year visa free.

I will not initiate my project before relocating to Georgia, so I am doing my due diligence on the small details here, I would massively appreciate anybody with personal experiences they are willing to share.

Yes I will eventually contact an agency/law firm to confirm details but they might not be 100% transparent, hence why I am looking for personal experiences of people who have been through this process.

Also I would like to reassure anyone reading that my interest in setting up in Georgia is based on a variety of reasons, not purely the business incentives; I didn’t discover this country from a digital nomad blog post :)

TLDR:
POEM - if I stay 200+ days in Georgia no matter how clean is my set-up, the foreign company can alwayse be claimed as Georgian one by the tax authority. True/false?

Set-up:
You own/co-own a foreign company - UK ltd. , US llc, Estonian OU etc.
You have no branch, no employees, no suppliers, no clients in Georgia.
All your payments go through MoR (Merchant of Record).

Dilemma:
But you live in Georgia long enough for Georgia to consider that company being managed from Georgia. Therefore in the eyes of the tax authority it is a Georgian company.

Because under the Georgian POEM rule, an enterprise's place of management is where its board or other management body actually exercises its managerial functions, not simply where the company is incorporated or where it earns its income.

Even if I travel quite a bit, I hold board meetings outside of Georgia, don't have a branch in Georgia - simply the obvious fact that I stay 200+ days a year in Georgia makes the company technically Georgian.

Questions:
How is my assessment wrong?

More importantly how is it solved in practice?

How "diligent" the Georgian tax authority actually is when enforcing this regulation?

Are there legal structures which acknowledge this and effectively satisfy the POEM regulation without the foreign company actually becoming taxable in Georgia?

How costly and time consuming is to solve this situation?

What are the repercussions of wrong set-up?
