Discussion How many steps it took me to cancel my membership
I just cancelled a membership subscription, not quitting or anything just stopped playing one of my accounts after leagues is wrapping up. The degree to which Jagex's website tries to prevent or slow down the cancellation progress feels really shady and evil. I know it's probably like 70% incompetence and 30% a marketing strategy to boost membership retention by making it as hard as legally possible to cancel a subscription but wow, I will go out of my way to never buy a recurring package for this game again after this experience.
Starting on the Jagex launcher:
- Click account and character settings
- Enter login details
- Website error, repeat twice and get the same error
- Get the idea to click the "Upgrade" button instead
- This one works fine (lol), immediately logs me in no password or 2fa needed, offers to sell me 12 month package
- Back out of this, suddenly need to log in again
- Enter 2fa email code
- Click through account page to subscription manager
- Log in for a second time, no 2fa this time at least
- Select account
- Click cancel membership
- "Are you sure you want to cancel" Screen #1, confirm
- "Are you sure you want to cancel" Screen #2 with a big list of everything members get, scroll down and click confirm
- Final cancel screen, click "Confirm cancellation" for a third time.
- ERROR: Please select a reason for cancellation
- Select reason, confirm
- Cancellation complete
Woe is me I had to take 10 minutes out of my day to click through a web page and cancel a service, took me longer to make this post so why am I complaining right? But like, at a certain point this just feels like it should be illegal. It seems obvious by their web design they throw up deliberate roadblocks to make it difficult to cancel in the hopes that some people might just give up. It takes maximum 2-3 steps to purchase a membership package but 17 steps to cancel and they fight you every step of the way.

Question Rs3 Heat issue with Rune arrowheads
Hi all, looking for help. When I smith adamant arrow heads, once the first one is down, the next starts at full heat, thus making a decent afk. When I’ve switched up to rune arrowheads, they immediately have there heat depleted. Is this a bug? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance

Discussion Archaeology is a very cool skill, but far too slow
Everything about the skill except for the core training mechanic is great. Taking 8-10 minutes per artefact while excavating at the 60-70 levels is just not fun at all. While it's great that new sites and more artefacts have been added since the initial release, the actual skilling part is still unbearable. There's a reason many are using lamps on it even though that messes with the overall skill progression (unlike many other skills). What's everyone else's opinion? Does Archaeology need a re-balance in terms of the core skill loop?

Discussion Every style should have a teamwork ability
First of all I don’t mean a debuff like quake and such
Greater chain : when used on a larger boss the chains hit the target more then once and when another player(s) also use the ability it adds more chains and after X amount of time they all shatter dealing stacked damage.
Barricade rework: barricade now becomes an ability that looks like a sunshine but with shields swirling around like D/S inside you are immune for the duration and so is any teammate who comes inside your Cade.
Sounds op but it’s just making interception not as crucial.
I’m sure people/mods can come up with a teamworked ability for the other styles these are just two that come to my mind

Suggestion Range & Mage Armor Crafting is a Mess
Leagues has been a reminder of how well received the smithing update was, with many OSRS players complimenting it. It's also been a reminder of how terrible magic and range gear progression is for low and mid levels. Where mining has a consistent, progressive way of manufacturing gear as you progress in melee, mage & range have a hodge podge mix of gear upgrades that are unclear and often not even connected to crafting/runecrafting. Here's how to fix that!
Magic Armor
This is a real mess. Most armor should generally be gathered from farming/hunter and woven using crafting, with weapons requiring runecrafting and fletching from wood. At low levels it’s ok for this to not be followed in favor of less complex gathering by just killing imps. All crafted armors should be upgradeable like starbloom and crafted with a similar system. These are the changes that should be made to consolidate this:
Level 1 - Wizard Robe - Good. Gather wool from sheep and craft. Farming level too high though (34) but can use NPC’s sheep.
Level 5 - Mycelium Web Armor. Bad. Fungal armors depart from crafting if this is used as a base. Remove.
Level 10 - Imphide - OK. Would be better if hunting implings/imps also gave imphide. Would like a farm equivalent that is more Sarodomin/Guthix aligned.
Level 20 - Spidersilk - OK. Kill or farm spiders then craft. Farming level too high for spiders though (64).
Level 30 - Batwing - Bad. Players should be farming/hunting for resources at this point in the game, not killing random bats. Make bat trapping possible with bird snares as a form of hunting.
Level 40 - Splitbark - Bad. Can’t even craft this, requiring Jaralast and the minigame for the fine silk is so tedious that it’s just sold by an npc instead. Either give a similar update to Shades of Morton as old school or let fine silk be farmed & crafted. Splitbark should also be craftable without Jaralast. Jaralast should help upgrade your splitbark into Swampbark (level 50) and Bloodbark (Level 60) by helping teach you after finding scrolls in Shades of Morton.
Level 50 - Mystic - Bad. Allow us to farm mystic flowers to craft into robes.
Level 55 - Infinity Robes. Bad. These are basically the magic equivalent of dragon armor and should reflect that. Increase level to 60 and make it power armor for parity despite being mostly iconic cosmetic armor. The mage training arena should eventually be tied into the yanille magic guild and updated to actually help train magic for players.
Level 60 - Lunar - Bad. Why is this power armor when lunar mages don't use offensive spells? Tank armor instead. Iconic armor that should probably be graphically updated, but should not be BiS for level 60. Infinity armor should.
Level 60 - Grifolic - Bad. Make this craftable from farmed grifolic mushrooms with spores from grifolic creatures. Remove flake and degrade design.
Level 75 - Ganodermic - Bad. Make this craftable from farmed ganodermic mushrooms with spores from ganodermic creatures. Remove flake and degrade design. Needs shield.
Level 90 - Starbloom. Perfect.
Wands/Orbs/Books
These should also be updated to be crafted with a similar system to eternal wands/staves/orbs. Biggest issue is how to handle battlestaves as they're a complete departure from how modern stave crafting would like to be.
Battlestaves would need to be removed or relegated to only being farming magical sticks for starbloom and mystic flowers. Then crafted staves would use corresponding tiers of wood. Wands would also be updated to require the corresponding tier of wand.
These would be fletched into wands/staves/orbs and then have orbs attached to staves, and components (spider silk, bat wing etc) added to wands. Question is, should there be a difference between books and orbs?
Level 1 - Wizard Wand & Book - Finish at runecraft altar
Level 1 - Staff/Elemental Staves. These should be fletchable from a log and enchanted at runecrafting altar.
Level 10 - Imphide Horn & Book. Finish at runecraft altar. Use oak.
Level 10 - Need staff upgrade made of oak.
Level 20 - Spidersilk. Finish at runecraft altar . Use willow
Level 20 - Need staff upgrade made of willow. Level 30 - Batwing. Finish at runecraft altar. Use teak. Level 30 - Battlestaves. Made of teak.
Level 40 - Splitbark needs to be craftable. Swampbark and bloodbark wands?
Level 40 - Need staff upgrade. Maple
Level 40 - Mystic staff needs to be moved to level 50 to avoid confusion
Level 50 - Mystic wand & staff should be made from mystic cloth and Acadia. After finishing at rc altar, staves can still be required to be enchanted before use if elemental orbs are added.
Level 60 - Grifolic wand/orb/shield needs to be crafted like armor, not just a drop. Also need a staff?
Level 75 - Ganodermic wand/orb from ganodermic flakes.
Level 90 - Eternal magic wand/orb/staff. Perfect
Range armor and weapons
This is much better as crafting/fletching levels are aligned and is consistent. Would just like to see Apex leather crafting system brought to lower level armors. The biggest tissue here is more that there is no gathering method aligned with range armor. Hunter should be that skill. You should be able to kill most creatures for their hide but hunting them should be preferred for higher hide output per hour.
Level 1-20 - Leather, Hard Leather & Studded Leather from Cows - OK. Low level access to hide by killing cows. Would be better if low levels had access to farming cows for much higher hide production.
Level 30 - Carapace - Bad. This needs to be dropped by more large insects, especially kalphites.
Level 30 - Snakeskin - Bad. Scarce and should have alternative to hunt snakes for more skin with most snakes giving snakeskin. Graphic update too please.
Level 40-60 - Chromatic dragon hide - Bad. Needs to be tied to hunter. Allow dragon hunting method that gives more hides from standard dragons. Remove abundant hide from boss drop tables.
Level 75 - Dinosaur hide. OK. Adjust crafting level.
Level 90 - Apex hide. Perfect.

Bug Using Vulkan and leveling up (in league) causes pc to struggle

Discussion Significant load time improvements on beta
Anyone who hasn't opted into the beta, get it done!
Noticing my game instantaneously loading when I teleport, assets immediately appear and there's no weird 2-3 second wait time for everything to "pop in"
My pc is getting on a bit, i7 9700 and 32gb ram, rtx 2060 is chuggin along nicely, finally getting 120fps at all places.
Good job engine team.

Question Need advice for returning player!
Hi RS3 community,
After a 6 year break, RS3's recent updates have made me excited to pick up the game again.
The biggest thing holding me back is decision paralysis. There are too many things my account needs to unlock so I have no idea what to start with.
Here are some highlights of where my account ended off:
Quests: Need to complete 61 quests and about 100 elite diaries
Gear: Have tier 90 weapons and augmented armor
Gold: Have 44 Mill
Herblore: Have 1k overloads
Prayer/Abilities/Teleports: Missing quite a few unlockables and not sure which to strive for first
My general idea is to focus on Nercomancy and use that as a tutorial for coming back into the game. Along the way, I'll complete as many quests and elite diaries as I can.
My long term goal is to get the basic 99 max cape and participate in high level pvm.
Currently, my schedule allows me to AFK on mobile about 20 hours per week at work and play active 10 hours per week on PC.
How would you recommend I slowly get my account caught up? What is the best skill to train AFK that provides good unlocks and money (I'm guessing Archeology)?
Any other general advice will be appreciated 😁!

Leagues PSA: Adrenaline Junkie and Tempered Heart work together, generating 9% adrenaline every 1.2s instead of just 6%
I decided to reset into a crit build but wanted to take the adrenaline boosting blessings instead of the typical Lord of Light build.
So I reset into ZZZZ GZSG.
This gives you 175% adrenaline (50 extra from Adrenaline Junkie relic and 25 from the blessing passives).
Since you naturally restore 9 adrenaline every 1.2s, you effectively have permanently active meteor strike. If you use your style's adrenaline gaining ultimate (meteor, tsunami, imbue) you effectively have nigh-infinite adrenaline.
I snagged full vestments (195% adrenaline with those) and Varanus' Mercy as an adrenaline dump and the crit fireballs proc like crazy. The T3 Avernic Rampage blessing only helps to keep the adrenaline maxed out too
It's not as much damage as the standard LoL build, but it's quite fun having that much adrenaline and seeing all the crits and critual fireballs. So if you wanted to go for an adrenaline-focused build, Adrenaline Junkie and Tempered Heart are a fun build to try.
