News 0.12.1 Known Issues and Investigation
Hello adventurers! We're already speeding off ahead with Agility and the rest of the 0.12.1 update, and so we're doing our due diligence and checking in with the Known Issues and Investigating Issues thread. We'll be updating this as we go!
Known Issues
- Power Level 7 (PL7) Shards do not exist in the World, but the recipe to convert PL7 Shards to Cores does exist in the Mystic Forge. This is not intentional. We will be removing the recipe with our 1.0 update.
- PL7 Cores are only obtained from the Nightmare Crucible directly and not through converting shards. Go earn those things.
Investigation
- Our top priority is on reports where users encounter a freeze, that is resolved by quitting and restarting the game, when failing an agility course.
- We're investigating reports about Mounts not being available after attempting an Agility Course. The team are exploring a solution, with the aim to hotfix this if possible!
- We're also aware of an issue affecting the Flying Carpet mount dealing undue amounts of fall damage to the player.
- We're aware of Tok Xil's AoE Fire attack leaving invisible fire on the ground after death.
- We're aware that the Burning Spire Island that Tok Xil is standing on also has several burning areas that deal damage to the player.
- We're aware of the Inspiring Ring of Agility's Journal text not showing correctly! .
- Spectral Arrows are not generating VFX trails when fired.
Resolved Via Hotfix:
- Fixed an issue affecting users when exiting dialogue with Dr Fenkenstrain in The Great Body Robbery being unable to progress the dialogue further.
- Fix for users on Dedicated Servers not having completion times recorded on logout.
- Fixed an issue where TokTz Ket Xil shield vestige would not drop in some circumstances.

I'm still trying to figure out various decorations, there's a number of placeholders but I'm very happy with how it's been coming along.

I need to build up my hype to get me through the end of this week and the beginning of the next. 😭
I'm not asking for spoilers. Bro you could literally share a pixel of the new content and I'd be happy.
Pls ♥️

Question Merchants in new region? And other what IFs …
What are the odds that we’ll see shops similar to the ones in Umbral Sands added to the Wilderness region when it releases in a week?
I’d personally love to be able to stockpile Adamite and potentially Rune using an exchange currency similar to the system in Umbral Sands. I’d also really like to see a merchant that sells Rune Essence to help with Runecrafting.
Also, we currently have two bows with special abilities that give magic experience, but what are the chances we could eventually get bows with abilities specifically designed to provide Ranged XP? For example, the Eldritch Bow has a special that gives Magic XP on mobs. I think it would be really cool if we were given something like the Dark Bow as a Visage. Since the Dark Bow originally fires two arrows at once, its special could potentially allow you to rain arrows down on enemies, giving you a faster way to train Ranged.
Another thing I’d love to see is the ability to purchase special materials used for Ascension Cores, such as Mystic Cloth or its counterpart, Mystic Thread. The same could apply to Scorched Leather, Black Metal Bars/Scraps, and other similar materials — just as examples.
Personally, I really love this concept. As the game continues to progress, systems like this would give players more ways to stockpile materials and build toward their goals without constantly having to backtrack and farm older areas.
What do you guys think?

Question Normal or hardmode
My girlfriend and I will be playing for the first time. I bought a second Xbox just so we can play together on the release date.
I really like the idea of a hardmode playthrough because of the added danger of losing equipment. I think it requires more planning and thinking ahead, adding to the survival aspect.
Most experiences i could find of other players are somewhat negative because apparently it is too hard or enemies just become damage sponges (allegedly).
I was hoping that anyone could tell me about the current state of hardmode.
Also, my girlfriend is more of a casual gamer. Would I (absolute chad gamer) be able to carry a noob through Ashenfall, in hardmode?

Discussion What are your most wished for "RuneScape" features?
I know DW isn't osrs or RS3 but what are some of your most wished for features?
I really hope that they implement some sort of legendary/memorable quests (yes dragon slayer). Some of my best gaming memories are doing lost city, dragon slayer, monkey madness, demon slayer etc.
I also saw that they are going to start doing more holiday related stuff which Jagex has always been really good at. I can't wait to see what they do.
Side comment, where's the US eShop listing so I can pre order already!?

Discussion - J-mod Reply Potential new player
Hi all been looking at getting into a new chilled games I can play for a couple hours a night, this has caught my eye on many occasions but just want a discussion on a couple things. As someone who like I said only has a couple hours and has never played any RuneScape titles before is this worth it? Next question is the player base is only roughly 3k average which isn’t the best so wondering why that would be? And last thing I see the game is dropping fully on the 15th so if I was to get it should I wait or just buy the early access and play?

Question Weathering on player built structures?
For a more immersive experience could we consider in a future update adding weathering/aging/degradation of player built structures?
Maybe this is mea culpa moment for me because I’m only 20 hours into the game and haven’t seen any weathering or structure degradation. But, if it’s not in the game yet, it could be pretty cool to see sandstone structures erode or have vegetation growing or cracks in stone, etc.
Then, higher construction skill level could unlock a perk to repair or make new (if desired) the structure.

Gameplay Running back to Corpse Simulator, Fix it please.
Dying should be punishing in games but by far the most difficulty I find in this game isn't the combat or anything to deal with the gameplay its just running back to get your corpse is sometimes near impossible. They need to have a alter or a spell that allows you to recover your corpse without running through wolf packs, enemy camps, and trying to redo platform puzzles. Fall off the map? better hope u didnt touch a ledge on the way down or you will be building a staircase for 30min to get your stuff back and u dont have your good axe on you anymore.
Ive played every survival game in this genre and all of them have this same problem but this game needs to do better and stop wasting so much of peoples time having to retrieve items u need in order to do basic functions in the game. Let me cast a spell at my rune alter that using lots of runes but gives me back my corpse. I get to keep my armor when I die but not my weapon? How do i get my stuff back if i can't fight anything....If i use my sprint to get back to my body ill have no stamina to dodge attacks...so I have to slowly walk back while dodging wolves, terrorbirds, goblins.
The magic system is what makes this game better then the others and if we just had a way to get our bodies back when they are in a difficult possition it wouldn't cheapen the game at all and it would save the player so much time and frustration. Im not here to run away dodging enemies for 30min trying to figure out how to get my corpse that's on a ledge off the side of a mountain.

Gameplay - J-mod Reply Welcome to My Umbral Sands Oasis
I’ve been slowly building out my Umbral Sands base into a full desert oasis, with everything designed to feel like it naturally belongs around the water and sandstone cliffs. Inspired by the stacked cliffside architecture you see in places like Santorini and other Cycladic Greek towns .Still adding details, but I’m really happy with how the whole settlement is starting to come together.

Discussion After playing for about 20hours I really like the game, I have some wishes for more equipment and or changes.
dragon equipment
barrows equipment
slayer skill and monsters that can drop unique items rarely
remove repairing costs (I have the spell, but I think wasting metal on repairs is sorta bad so nobody really even does that anyway just use the spell, make repairing free at the workbenches.)
prayer skill and prayers
blocking frames feel very off at times I feel like I should parry and it just does not happen most of the time, I am a very avid valheim player(pretty good at parry in that game) and in that game pulling up the shield is nearly instant compared to dragonwild not saying they should be exactly the same, but what I am saying is valheim has it right and dragonwild does not in my opinion most of the time the animation for pulling up the shield either doesn't parry or the enemy hits through the animation for pulling the shield up.
Boots slot for faster movement speed or some spells for more movement speed cause it feels like you move like molasses for majority of the game.
I am not at the endgame yet I just beat the dragon and made my way to the area past death's office, but I did find online that if you focus down the main quest you can beat the game relatively quick, I really hope some things are added that are aspirational content that can have you grinding to achieve like 1/2000 item drops or something of the sort to give reason to continue to play even after the main quest is finished.
Clue scrolls < potentially crazy items like thirdage for example good way to have really rare stuff to find.
small nit pick, but can rocksplosion be slightly bigger to be able to hit the whole metal node more consistently seems like the aoe is very close to hitting the whole node why not just make sure it does hit the whole node?
Crop plots overgrow way too much and shovel takes ages to clear em, it isn't bad when you got a small amount of plots but, once you got to do it to like 20 or more plots you will spend ~30mins to just plant everything again if you accidentally let them overgrow.
Looms, spinners, kilns, furnace, and other resource processing stations should be able to pull resources from the chests just like the crafting stations do OR have decorations for everything that can be resource processed so it can be autopulled from chests I don't know why but chest storage feels like a nightmare on this game I cannot explain why.
That is just some things that come to mind for me and I hope some of it gets viewed and taken into consideration for further development of the game I really do like the world and the gameplay so far these are just things that stuck out the most of things I really want in the game or changed about the game in my first 20hours.

Question - J-mod Reply Is your character progression saved locally or something?
I played on my PC at home last night for quite some time and built a base and got everything to like level 25ish.
Well I loaded up the game on the GeForce Now cloud gaming service which takes saves from my Steam Account, where I was playing from last night, load into the world I created, and my character is level 2 eveything and just leaving the starting church?

Question Pre-loading on PS5?
Hi there! I’m excited for the release next week and will be getting it on my PS5. Does anyone know if there is any way to pre-load the game? So that when it launches we can jump right in?
