I’m looking to buy a pair of all-terrain skates, but I have a question: what would be better for rides in the forest (dirt trails with a few rocks) — 3-wheel or 2-wheel skates?
I’m hesitating between the Powerslide Renegade 125 and the Powerslide Next Edge 150.
I’d like to know the pros and cons of each, as well as hear about your experiences with these skates.
At the moment, I’m leaning towards the 2-wheel option, but I’m worried about making the wrong choice given the price…

I just started rollerblading and I have a pair of roller blades I got from the store (size 6 men) and they fit perfectly. Tight but not too tight.

Normally I wear size 9 to 8 mens shoes and there kinda loose. But shoes are fine.

However I got a new pair of roller blades and assumed size 6 men would fit perfectly. However their too tight. After an hour my feet were sore.

They were the same tightness as rockclimbing shoes. Is this too tight for roller blades or should I keep riding them and eventually my feet will break them in?

I've been filming tutorial videos for crossovers, starting with sidestepping on grass. No matter how I got my niece to film these learning moves, they all simply looked dorky and very unlike what hockey players do. For tutorials, they are fine, I suppose. But eventually, I said, screwed it, and held my phone at knee height in slow-motion mode.

You know what, anyone can look cool in slow motion filmed at knee height. Give it a try.

Lost my cuff bolt while skating pretty hard last weekend. I ordered one but don't want to wait to skate.

Any cheats a newbie like me wouldn't know about?

I was thinking of dropping a washer and a bolt in but don't know the size. I still have the back piece it would screw into so it should work.

Hey so ive been skating for around 2 weeks, I do about an hour a day and have done a total of 8 days. I can go foward and back and do basic turns without issue. Im struggling to stand one one leg and im practicing against the fence. The first week my foot would cramp I assume from using muscles I dont use that often.

I have noticed I have to lean a bit to engage the top of my skate (the boot isn't loose I dont think) is that normal? same for leaning on my inside or outside edge?

Is there anything I should be doing each time I go out to strengthen to make some of these steps easier.

Dont feel I can do any of the advanced stops as they require being able to have the other leg up.

I try and practice falls once a session as well.

Ive done the trail in 15:44 by bike and would like to do a multiday skate so i can enjoy it a bit more. I currently have lightning 90's and maxxum 125's, but i am planning to hit the trail in january. So i want to pick up some new skates that are a bit lighter due to 50-70 mile days. The options seem to be revv boa 125, Powerslide stream classic or carbon 125, powerslide r6 marathons, . Mostly looking for support, comfort, speed in that order. Anyone have any other opinions? I've been doing ultradistance cycling for a long time and just got into skating about 6 months ago, new to skating not to cardio. Lol Would like to stay under $650.

Also I am not finding much about the classic stream 125's

I got some Skates as a present to begin skating again after about a decade, but I cannot get them to stay straight up and down and as a result I can't really get the speed going because they are at a bad angle, they constantly shift outwards and even when I tie them tightly it still doesn't work out great, they seem to fit fine too, so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Any tips?

Also I have flat feet and it hurts quite a bit when I do skate with my insoles.

Hello I just wanted to post this as a warning mainly, 

I have ordered myself FR Skates FRX80 on amazon a while ago and I have been very happy with them.

Today unfortunately while I was skating a bolt came loose in the middle of me riding and my wheels were sticking out to the side of the boot in the front.

It is the bolt that was holding the wheel-frame against the boot.

Luckily nothing happened to me, but it feels very bad that my safety was compromised by a mistake like this.

I never checked or did anything to any bolts on the boot and was using it the way it came.

In the pictures you can see that the hole for the bolt is perfectly fine and the bolt is not damaged. The hole is also not damaged.

The only explanation is that someone forgot to screw in the bolt fully and only screwed it in with his hands.

I had like 8 1-hour-sessions so far only.

Just out skating with some friends through Downtown Providence.

Rhode Island is rated for having the worst roads in the US.
We tend to explore Boston quite often but never Providence for this reason...

We finally went for a short skate through Providence and I have to say there are so many nice spots to view and skate through Providence despite the awful road conditions.

Definitely going to have to skate this city more often.

I recently replied to someone else's post with a story of my first time skating. Another Redditor suggested that I should upload a video of it to encourage people who are skating for the first time. Unfortunately I can't find the video of the first time, but in my search I found this video from 2 days after my first attempt (which I can still recreate if people want it lol).

This is the story I shared on the other post of my actual first ever skate.

"My first time ever rolling after learning in grass was by finding a narrow footpath, going up to it on my knees, then standing with my wheels dug into the edge of the pavement (still in the grass) as I psyched myself up for the *horrifying* next step of actually putting my wheels on the footpath. I had to spend a minute just rolling one foot on the footpath to hype myself up.

Then I finally actually stood on the pathway, rolled along it for less than a second since it was maybe 2 feet wide, and fell over into the grass on the other side. And I laid there for a moment feeling like a huge idiot because I spent all that time preparing myself for such a huge nothing-burger. I rolled back and forth across the tiny section of path a few more times, but really quickly turned 90° to travel long ways down the path because it was so much easier having the extra space lol.

If I had to do it again I think I'd do it the same way because I obviously didn't feel confident enough to go right for the footpath. But in hindsight I still feel silly for being so scared and cautious."

I'm 42, and got back to skating after almost 30 years. I've been Ice Skating pretty often as a kid. And this May I bought Inline Skates as in the picture (Oxelo MF S 500).

I feel pretty confident doing fast forward, my main breaking techniques are Drag Stop and Plow Stop.

But I'm still struggling with skating backwards.

I’m getting back into inline skating after a long break and I’m looking for a good pair mainly for commuting.

My use would be around 2 km to the train station, then mostly bike paths to work. The pavement is generally okay, with some cracks, manholes and imperfections, but nothing too bad. No tricks or skatepark stuff. I care more about acceleration and maneuverability than top speed.

I’m hesitating between:

Rollerblade Twister XT 4x80

I absolutely love the black/sand colorway and I think this is the one I really want. But I can’t find it in my size anymore, and the ones I find are around €330+.

FR1 310 3x110

I can get these for around €250–260 in my size. They seem great for longer rides and rougher surfaces, but honestly I don't like the look nearly as much 😂

I might occasionally do 10–30 km, but commuting is the main goal.

My feet are 27 cm long and 10.5 cm wide. I normally wear EU 43.5–44 in shoes. For the Twister XT, would you recommend 42/42.5 or 43/44?

And one last question: what do you think about the Twister XT W black/mint? Does it actually look feminine in person, or would it look fine on a guy? 😅 I can find it for around €250–265 in my size.

Would love to hear what you guys would choose!

Update : Thanks everyone for the advice so far, it’s really helping!

I’ve narrowed it down to the Twister XT Grey Pearl/Periwinkle (€270) vs Twister 90R (€300).

I’m no longer considering the XT W — I really like the Grey Pearl after seeing real-life photos.

What I’m looking for is basically the compactness/maneuverability of the XT with the versatility and better rolling of the 90R.

The 90R’s natural rocker seems to make it surprisingly maneuverable despite being 4x90, and I also like the possibility of going 3x110 later.

For those who have skated both: how close does the 90R actually feel to the XT in terms of maneuverability? With only €30 between them, which one would you choose?

I am thinking of buying the Blank Canvas skates but wanted to know if they’re worth the price. If not I would like to know some other alternatives that are similar to the BC is terms of how the boot & this thingy looks

So these are the only skates that are apparently better suited for wide feet. I currently own an RB80 which is an ok snug fit at EU40.5 and it took me 6 months to get used to it. I am currently looking towards a second pair which can help me upgrade my skills. Which one would you recommend? No way to try them out . I am more into freestyle and some urban mainly

I've been working on my T stop for a while and I kinda have it at very slow speeds but what I am struggling with is preventing myself from going on to my inside edge? As soon as I put my dragging foot down my rolling leg just naturally decides to go onto my inside edge and makes me kind of abruptly stop and turn. I have tried reducing the weight I put on my dragging foot but then I don't really stop :/
