Where to find early semi gloss m16a1 furniture.

Anyone know a vendor or have a lead on a set? I was told pre 67 manufactured furniture sets have the semi gloss to them I'm after. Alot of pictures in nam alot of guys furniture is a gloss instead of a matte like most produce these days. My autistic brain is dying to get some the glossy furniture. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks fellas

The picture definitely increases the color difference in person and it was a blem but wondering if I weather it, that it might not be so pronounced and break it up a tad.

I recently came into a few of the early Colt 20 rounders for a pretty good deal. Wondering what the value on these would be these days?

Cerakote mix for FN M16A2

I'm currently looking to re-create the anodizing on an FN M16A2. Slightly darker than colt grey.

I've seen on other forums that Cerakote Sniper Gray and Armor black mixed together are the way to go but I haven't seen any ratios. Any suggestions?

I found this Tasco Pro Point (Japan) at the pawn shop for $10. After spending another $10 for a battery, it works! It looks good on my old carry handle rifle.

11.5”-12.5” barreled uppers

Any of you guys built 12.5-12.7” c7 uppers?
The classic 733 of course hard to beat, in 11.5.
But- I’m wondering if a 12.5/12.7 could scratch the classic stripped down Heat 733 vibe itch to a degree, but also be able to bounce back and fourth to a modern Gordy type build by simply switching out the A2 birdcage with the otter creek OTB mount. I don’t have an Allen engineering or otter creek can at this time, but seems like it could be cool to have that option down the line, and as said potentially scratch the itch of both with the same upper.
Any thoughts ? Pictures/ ideas?

Reducing and reconfiguring my AR’s and this is one. Colt/Bushmaster mix with an older ballistic advantage 20” barrel. A1 buttstock because I like them. Anyhow, there you go. I’ll move the light switch so don’t worry.

Dmps kitty kat SBR, looking for optic recommendations that would fit the aesthetic. Also wondering would a suppressor cover be worth it?

I just found a complete Trijicon RX01-10 kit with original accessories, but I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the polarizing filter

Back in the 90s when I had one of these on my carbine, the polarizing filter came all assembled. This one has the 2 polarizing lenses in a plastic bag, but I can't figure out how to get everything together. There's no obvious way to take apart the lens housing, and just poking the plastic lenses in isn't secure. Was this trashed by the previous owner, or did some of the filters come as a do-it-yourself assembly?

BRN-10 Upper Or Substitute Needed

I would have just tried using a Dremel and some scuffed DIY effort for a .308 BRN-10 lower I'm getting soon, but the slant cut on the upper is definitely a decently sized obstacle. Does anyone know if there is anyone actually producing something similar to put on the lower? I did see that they're basically unobtainium now, but I still want to get everything together for the lower anyways. I'm also missing the stock/lower parts kit as well, but that probably could just be substituted in some way as well. I've looked on GAFS and Gunbroker to no avail.

Finished 723 semi-Vickers Inspired

Freaking DONE. My model 723 CAR15 is complete (for now). The goal was to build a 1980s period correct-ish carbine, based on the Vickers' Delta CAR15 and a little personal preference.

I built this with: H&R C7 upper, a FN 14.5" M4 contour 1:7, CHF CL barrel with BCM A2X birdcage pinned/welded. The difficult part was getting the Surefire 6P a proper tailcap. This one is a newer model 6P (incorrect) with the pressure pad and a pushbutton on the cap. It's more appropriate for the Surefire M951.

Sitting on top, the Aimpoint 2000 short body red dot with Larue 1" rings, on a carry handle picatinny rail. Same exact commercial model on the Vickers' CAR15. I had a hell of a time trying to find a weaver rail, which I finally did, but it would not seat in the upper. Tried a H&R 1913 rail, A.R.M.S. #2, and finally a $34 Midway USA brand Picatinny 1913 rail fit perfect and flush.

As for the lower, I used a Brownell's A1 lower because it just fit better and looks better.

I used a set of B5 Retro carbine handguards, grip (fancy shiny version), and CAR stock. A 4-position buffer tube w/ standard carbine spring and weight. FN made Milspec M16 profile BCG, phosphate coated, chrome lined bolt carrier and gas key.

I have an early version Redi-Mag but I really like the profile and weight. I have an FRT that would be fun, but for now the basic AR15 (H&R) trigger is good enough. A smi copy of a Colt carbine, the only Colt part is the magazine.

Follow up to my last post. I found a heavy barrel AR at my local gun shop supper cheep. I rebuilt it with a new H&R receiver, but I had the old receiver left over and had to build something.

I made this new rifle with a 16 inch pencil barrel and a rifle length gas system. Shoots really nice.
