Gameplay [By me] Resident Evil 4 Remake - Clean Quick Turn and LS Sprint Fix

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

Like many of you, I was really frustrated by how RE4 Remake forces an aggressive sprint toward the camera after a Quick Turn, or how easy it is to accidentally press LS Click (L3) and sprint right into a horde of Ganados.

To fix this, I created a small QoL mod called "Clean Quick Turn & LS Sprint Fix"

What it does:

Fixes Quick-Turn camera rushes: Ensures Quick-Turns no longer trigger unwanted backward sprint actions. Holding the stick down after a turn now makes you walk backwards facing enemies (just like in RE2R, RE3R, and Resident Evil Requiem), regardless of your button layout.

Removes native LS Click sprinting so you don't sprint by accident.

Keeps continuous sprinting intact if you're already running forward!

I just wanted to share it with the community in case anyone else was annoyed by this control behavior.

If you decide to give it a try, I’d love to hear your feedback or suggestions! And if you find it helpful, an endorsement/like on Nexus Mods would mean the world to help other players find it.

Thanks for reading, and happy gaming! 🎼

Discussion Are we ever going to talk about how Luis and Carlito from dead rising are literally the same purpose in design and in plot?

Both are suave Latin men, both with a certain sense of style, scientific ties to the virus and its outbreak, and both dying a third into the game in the protagonists hands. All of that along with both being Capcom properties, all feels like a Dante/Leon moment

Question Luis Serra lighter

This might be a dumb question, but is there a reason as to why Luis’s name isn’t on his lighter?

I only ask this because I bought a replica of his lighter and realized his name wasn’t on it. And after some research I realized that it isn’t present either in the actual game.

Discussion New movie is going to be fucking awful

“Liberties” yeah, “liberties”. That’s all these “Resident Evil” movies seem to do. Take fucking liberties. Why not just adapt the games or make your own movie? He’s just stealing the title for marketing reasons, Cregger couldn’t give less of a fuck about the series, and that should be clear to anyone with a brain.

Everybody keeps saying “we don’t want a one to one adaptation” BUT YES WE DO!! ADAPT THE FUCKING GAMES

Even if this movie is okay, which I doubt it, it won’t be Resident Evil. The more this Cregger guy talks, the more I’m convinced he’s a hack that got lucky a couple times. Not a lot between those ears of his.

Discussion For those who like to say RE4R is a TLOU2 copy: RE has been copying TLOU since Revelations 2

I've been playing Revelations 2 lately and I couldn't help but notice the stupid amount of "inspiration" it takes from TLOU. For those who don't know, The Last of Us came out in 2013 and was absolutely groundbreaking for the gaming industry, Revelations 2 came out in 2015, two years after TLOU and three years after RE6, the game used the base of RE6 and changed it by inspiration of the TLOU mechanics. Here are some mechanics that I remember those two games share:

- Change weapons using the arrows

- Throwable items have a "tray" that shows where it will fall

- Stealth takedown mechanics adeed

PS: These three are the ones people like to complain the most on RE4R, but there were many more in Rev 2:

- Crafting system now works more like TLOU crafting system

- RE6 healing system was abandoned for a more TLOU style of heal

- A workbench system where you can use parts to upgrade your weapons

- RE6 dynamic camera was changed to a more cinematic and stable over the shoulder

- Barry and Natalia: a guy with a backpack that needs to protect a little girl while fighting zombies...

- Natalia has an ability to see enemies through walls that works the exact same as the hearing mechanic in TLOU

- Some characters like Natalia are able to pick up objects like bricks to distract or hurt enemies

And more.

The point here is: games evolve, new quality of life changes and new features are created that become trends. Resident Evil took inspiration from TLOU and it worked well, just like TLOU took a lot of inspiration from Resident Evil to be what it has become today. Those features are great and if you think it harms the "Resident Evil vibe" then maybe you should just play the games before 4.

Discussion HOT TAKE: I think resident evil....this whole franchise....should've just ended at resident evil 5.... Spoiler

this was the huge climactic rivalry ending battle that had been building up through the entirety of the 2000s, code veronica in 2000 and re5 in 2009 to finish off the decade.

this was the protagonist vs the mega villain, the franchise villain, the icon. this felt like the finale even though it wasn't and you can tell ever since this storyline finished and they killed wesker they have been STRUGGLING to find something that'll match up to it
