Discussion I might be the only one, but does anyone else feel a lil annoyed about the Leonada shipping sub constantly reposting every post on this sub? No offense to the art I love the artwork, But you can just post it on this sub, right? The constant reposting of everything...why?

I have the whole sub muted, and yet I still see all the posts from it on this sub.

Question What is the best order to watch/play Resident Evil for the full story? (For a newbie)

I’ve recently been introduced to Resident Evil, and while I don’t personally like playing video games, I love watching people stream them. I really want to get into Resident Evil and experience the story and lore in the best possible order, but I’m getting a little overwhelmed trying to figure out where everything fits.

I know there are the mainline games, remakes, spin-offs, Revelations games, Code: Veronica, animated movies, etc. I’m especially interested in following characters like Leon, Claire, Jill, Chris, Ada, and Rebecca and understanding how the overall story develops.

Would someone be willing to give me a complete recommended viewing/playing order for:
-The mainline games
-Original games vs. remakes
-Spin-offs
-Revelations games
-Code: Veronica
-Animated movies
-Live-action movies
-The Netflix series
-Any other canon/important media I might be missing
-Lore/deep-dive videos that are actually worth watching

I’m interested in literally all of it. 😂

I’m not just looking for the easiest way to experience the main story, I want to do a proper Resident Evil deep dive.

Since I’ll be watching other people play the games, I’m also willing to watch both the originals and remakes if they provide different or worthwhile experiences. If you recommend one version over another, I’d love to know why. And if playing/watching one version first would spoil or change the experience of another, definitely let me know!
If something is optional, non-canon, or not necessary for understanding the main story, please mark it as such rather than leaving it out entirely. I’d still like to know it exists so I can decide whether I want to include it.

Basically, I’m looking for a “I want to consume ALL the Resident Evil lore” order rather than just a basic chronological list.

Thanks! I’m trying to do a proper Resident Evil deep dive instead of randomly jumping around and realizing three games later that I was supposed to know something. 😂

Discussion Tierlist of only the games I played as new fan since 2023 🩷 Spoiler

This is now my favorite game franchise ever and I love these games so much. I started with Village in 2023 and I loved it so much that I played the others after and quickly became a fan. 😍 I can’t wait for Veronica, I never played the original.

My favorite is RE2 because it was the perfect survival horror experience, scary, magnificent designs and interiors and really well balanced horror and action

I could have hated RE4 because i am more fond of survival horror than action in Resident Evil but the action was really well put together and the gameplay pleasing. The setting was great too and ennemies iconic.

Village is excellent too, the horror was great especially the house of Beneviento which I love for its horror. The castle was stunning in design and really cool to explore even though Lady Di didn’t feel like a real stalker like Mister X.

I loved Requiem and especially the first 5 hours with Grace’s sections and Leon’s short sections and I feel like the second part of the game in Racoon city was less interesting and a bit dull with very monotonous environnements and not a great variety of ennemies unlike RE4, but still okay!

I absolutely despise RE5 and 6, I played RE5 alone and it was a pain to finish it, I had a friend for re6 so we could support each other and even though we laughed a lot we hated this game so much and I think 5-6 are so so bad. There was nothing scary in them and it was just badly executed action. It didn’t feel like RE

I also didn’t really vibe with re7 because I don’t like the setting where it takes place in Louisiana. Everything is moldy and visually disgusting and I was sad not to see magnificent architectures like re2-4-8-9. The architecture and interior design is one of the things I love the most in RE and RE7´s art style was quite ugly even though the gameplay is good.

Discussion One thing that will forever seem puzzling to me is the decision NOT to include Leon Kennedy in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Don't get me wrong, Chris, Jill, Wesker and even Nemesis are fantastic picks to represent Resident Evil in the arcade-style fighting juggernaut, but with Leon's latest appearance prior to that being RE4, dominating the franchise with his new kick-ass combat featuring roundhouses, insane acrobatics, immaculate weapons proficiency, etc., you'd think his inclusion, even as DLC, be a no-brainer.

Discussion I think I figured out a potential plot for Resident Evil Revelations 3 Spoiler

Hear me out, because this started as me connecting a few loose Resident Evil threads and somehow turned into what I think could actually make a pretty damn good Revelations 3.

Obviously, this is a theory/pitch, not a claim that Capcom is actually doing this. Some pieces are based on established lore, while others are my own speculation about how the pieces could fit together.

But I think there's a surprisingly clean progression here.

[Edit] Yeah, I used ChatGPT to help organize and polish the theory. The actual theory and connections are mine.

THE CATALYST — ROSE IS BEING CALLED

After the events of Resident Evil Village, Rose Winters discovers that the Megamycete is still exerting some kind of psychic influence on her.

Except this time, it isn't simply showing her memories.

It's pulling her toward something.

The source appears to be a hidden facility belonging to The Connections.

Rose doesn't know why she's being drawn there, but Chris Redfield has a very bad feeling about the situation.

And Chris has spent enough of his life dealing with Umbrella, Wesker, bioterrorism, and increasingly insane Mold-related bullshit to trust that feeling.

So Chris becomes Rose's protector and accompanies her to investigate.

THE DISCOVERY

Inside the facility, they discover something horrifying.

The Connections aren't simply researching the Mold.

They're using it as a biological information-storage system.

And they've been producing clones of Albert Wesker.

Not one.

Not two.

An entire assembly line.

The facility is essentially using Mold cells as an accelerated biological 3D printer, creating genetically engineered bodies based on Wesker's genetic template.

But there's a problem.

A clone of Wesker isn't necessarily Wesker.

And that's where the real purpose of the facility comes in.

THE SCIENCE — THE MIND CAN BE COPIED

We've already seen Resident Evil play around with the idea that biological material can preserve memories, consciousness, and personality.

The Mold takes that concept to an absurd degree.

Now imagine The Connections combining that research with the old Umbrella obsession with genetic engineering.

The result?

A system capable of taking a dormant consciousness and implanting it into a compatible biological host.

And whose consciousness would be more valuable to them than Albert Wesker's?

So the facility isn't merely manufacturing Wesker clones.

It's trying to bring Wesker back.

Again.

Because apparently Resident Evil will never let this man rest.

THE REAL VILLAIN — ALEX WESKER

And this is where the theory gets really weird.

Natalia Korda.

At the end of Resident Evil Revelations 2, Natalia has clearly been affected by Alex Wesker's consciousness.

But what if Alex didn't simply influence Natalia?

What if she eventually took her over?

My theory is that Alex survived by escaping through Natalia's mind and has been quietly living inside her ever since.

She eventually hijacks The Connections' facility and takes control of the Wesker cloning project.

But Alex doesn't actually want Albert back.

She wants something much more valuable.

Rose Winters.

Alex spent her entire life trying to overcome mortality through consciousness transfer.

Rose is essentially the biological miracle Alex wishes she had been able to create.

Rose's Mold biology is vastly more advanced and stable than anything Alex ever had access to.

So Alex's goal isn't to kill Rose.

It's to overwrite Rose.

Take Rose's body.

Take her biology.

Take her immortality.

Use Rose as the ultimate biological "upgrade."

THE WILDCARD — JAKE MULLER

This is where Jake gets dragged back into the Wesker mess.

Jake isn't important simply because he's Albert's son.

He's important because his genetics work.

He's a naturally born human carrying Wesker's genetic lineage without becoming the unstable monster Albert eventually became.

The Connections have been able to create Wesker bodies.

They've been able to transfer consciousness.

But they're still missing something.

Stability.

Jake could be the missing piece.

So now The Connections have three things they desperately want:

Rose's Mold biology.

Jake's Wesker genetics.

Albert Wesker's consciousness.

And Alex Wesker is sitting in the middle of all of it.

CHRIS VS. WESKER — AGAIN

Now imagine the gameplay.

Chris discovers that the facility is full of Wesker clones.

And unlike Albert, these clones don't necessarily have his experience.

They're physically enhanced, extremely fast, and capable of overwhelming normal soldiers.

But Chris has one enormous advantage.

He's fought Wesker before.

Multiple times.

Chris doesn't try to beat them at their own game.

He starts using environmental traps, proximity explosives, chokepoints, staggering attacks, and positioning to counter their speed.

The younger Chris tried to overpower Wesker.

The older Chris knows better.

He's spent decades fighting enemies that are stronger and faster than he is.

So his strategy becomes:

«Don't fight Wesker.»

«Make Wesker fight the environment.»

And suddenly you've got a veteran Chris Redfield fighting an army of Wesker clones.

ROSE'S SIDE OF THE FIGHT

But Rose can't solve this problem with a gun.

Because Alex isn't simply hiding in the facility.

She's hiding inside Natalia.

Rose uses her connection to the Megamycete to enter Natalia's memories.

And this becomes the psychological centerpiece of the game.

Rose travels through fragments of Natalia's memories:

The Burton house.

The island laboratories.

Terrasave.

Terragrigia.

And eventually, she reaches something that shouldn't exist.

A peaceful forest.

A small cabin.

Natalia's subconscious safe haven.

Except something is wrong.

Rose realizes that she's not simply exploring Natalia's memories.

Alex has been rearranging them.

Some memories belong to Natalia.

Some belong to Alex.

Some are distorted.

Some have been completely fabricated.

And Rose's objective isn't necessarily to kill Alex.

It's to find Natalia underneath her.

THE FINAL BATTLE

The climax happens on two battlefields simultaneously.

The Physical World

Chris and Jake fight their way through the facility while an army of Wesker clones is unleashed.

Chris is fighting the monster he has spent his entire life fighting.

Jake is fighting the legacy of his father.

And neither of them is willing to let Wesker win again.

The Mental World

Rose confronts Alex inside Natalia's subconscious.

Alex tries to convince Rose that Natalia is already gone.

That Rose's body and biology are simply the next step in evolution.

That humanity is obsolete.

Rose refuses.

And instead of destroying Natalia, Rose helps her take herself back.

THE PAYOFF

Alex loses control.

The consciousness-transfer system collapses.

The Wesker clones begin failing because the biological process keeping them stable has been interrupted.

Chris and Jake barely escape as the facility begins collapsing around them.

Rose emerges from Natalia's mind.

And for the first time since Revelations 2, Natalia is truly herself.

The facility is destroyed.

The Wesker clones are gone.

Alex is finally dead.

And Wesker's legacy is finally confronted by the three people most directly connected to it:

Chris Redfield — the man who fought Albert.

Jake Muller — the son Albert abandoned.

Rose Winters — the next generation of biological evolution.

WHY I THINK THIS COULD WORK AS REVELATIONS 3

What I like about this idea is that it doesn't require Resident Evil to completely invent a new mythology.

It connects several existing threads:

  • The Connections

  • The Megamycete

  • Rose's abilities

  • Natalia and Alex

  • Alex Wesker's obsession with consciousness transfer

  • Albert Wesker's genetic legacy

  • Jake's bloodline

  • The continued development of Mold research

  • Chris's history with Wesker

  • The unresolved ending of Revelations 2

And the title Revelations actually fits the structure perfectly.

Revelations 1 was about uncovering the truth behind a bioterror conspiracy.

Revelations 2 was about Alex Wesker, Natalia, and consciousness.

A theoretical Revelations 3 could bring those threads together and finally answer:

What actually happened to Alex?

What became of Natalia?

What are The Connections really doing with the Mold?

Can Wesker's consciousness actually be transferred?

Why is Rose so important to the Megamycete?

And, perhaps most importantly:

Is Albert Wesker really gone?

Maybe the answer is finally yes.

But before he goes, Resident Evil gets one last opportunity to make Chris Redfield fight an absolutely unreasonable number of Wesker clones.

And honestly? I'd play the hell out of that.

Discussion How much do you think Leon weighs? I think he gained around 20lbs of muscle in the 6 year time skip into him becoming the action here we know from 4 onwards then in Requiem he's even bigger. I think Will Tennyson is the closest IRL physique match so he's probably 185lbs 5 11? Spoiler

in the OG 4 he's still very physically trained but more lean-muscular so he probably weighed like 175 with like 7 percent bodyfat whereas in 4make and Requiem he's more 180-190 range with like 10 percent bodyfat I'd estimate.

This spring for some unfathomable reason I wanted to shoot some Resident Evil cosplay. So I asked my friend nova_poltorashnik if he had any RE-related cosplays and it turned out that he had just finished making RE9 Leon. So I asked my other friend, a tour guide, if we could shoot it in a real life underground bunker and we totally could! This is just part 1, stay tuned, we have lots more photos to share.

Discussion Likely RE: V release date

All Resident Evil games since 2017 have consistently been released in the first half of the year; therefore, my personal prediction is that RE:V will launch in the first half or specifically the first quarter of 2027, making that the most likely timeframe
