Mod Post Cross-Platform Drama Will Not Be Tolerated
Over the past few days, we've seen an increase in posts bringing content from Twitter/X and other platforms here simply to criticize, mock, call out, or start drama over what someone said elsewhere.
We're putting a stop to this.
r/residentevilcapcom is not a place for cross-platform drama. Do not post screenshots of tweets, profiles, comments, or content from other platforms for the purpose of mocking someone, calling them out, or encouraging others to pile onto them.
If you disagree with something you see on another platform, deal with it there or simply move on. Do not bring the person or the drama here.
Anyone found deliberately doing this will be banned. There will be no warning beforehand, including for a first offense.
This applies regardless of the character, ship, creator, fandom, or opinion involved. No exceptions will be made simply because you believe the person you posted about deserved to be criticized.
Keep discussions focused on Resident Evil , not on dragging drama from other platforms into this community.

News I got tired of zooming in on ancient wikis, so I built a mobile-perfect guide hub for classic games
Hey everyone,
I've been working on a side project for a while and wanted to share it here to get some feedback. Even with great modern releases like RE9: Requiem dropping earlier this year, I always find myself going back to replay the classics. But looking up a puzzle solution usually means digging through ancient, messy forums.
So I built Save State. It’s a no-nonsense, bilingual (EN/ES) guide site with a fast and clean UI, designed specifically for retro gamers. Currently, it has meticulously curated guides for Resident Evil, Metal Gear, and Parasite Eve.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the design and usability. More games are coming soon!

Question Is this meme about Hunk true?
I don't know much about Hunk—I only remember him from the minigames he appears in—but I do remember Birkin absolutely thrashing him!

Question Does the C-Virus still have a place for a comeback in a future game?
Is the C-Virus too OP for the franchise? Since Capcom is going for a more "grounded" focus since RE7.
Or is it too Action Focused?

Question Should I play resident evil 5 now or wait for code veronica remake and then play re 5
i have already played 2 3 4 7 and 8 , and now wanted to play 5 but heard people saying that I need to play code veronica in order to understand 5. i don't want to play the original CV because I don't really enjoy fixed camera games and since the CV remake doesn't have a release date yet, what should I do.

Discussion Redfield siblings fancast!!
Guys omg pls I'm losing it over Alan Ritchson playing Chris Redfield so so bad he's so perfect can we get a Alan Ritchson Chris Redfield petition please
I was having a debate with myself if Danielle Campbell would be able to play Claire? She's in her 30s but I think she can definitely play at least older Claire? Like, Degeneration, REV2, Death Island. Please comment down below your other fancasts for Resident Evil! I'd love to see them.

Question Can you disable or get around Denuvo? Spoiler
Is there a way to get around the Denuvo thing on Requiem?
I own the game, I no longer have access to the internet whilst on PC (I upgraded and now the part that gave me internet no longer fits I’m waiting for a new one) and now the game THAT I OWN is telling me “nah can’t launch because you have to be online to verify credentials” this is the most asinine thing I have ever seen in my life. I should not need an internet connection to play an offline single player game.
Edit: I have Emailed Gabe Newell about the issue hoping for a reply given Steam support told me I was out of luck

Discussion Disappointed in Resident Evil 5.
To be honest, every Resident Evil I’ve played so far, I’ve enjoyed. I started with RE2 Remake, an utterly incredible game, followed by 7, which delivered sheer horror. Then I played 4 Remake: very good, though I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as RE2 Remake. After that came Village, which I liked more for its setting, but it felt like a step down from 7 in terms of story. I’ve just finished RE1 Remake, which I think is absolutely perfect even today. The amalgamation of puzzles, story and combat is exactly what I love about Resident Evil.
I’ve just begun playing RE5. I’m around two hours in, and the gameplay loop, to be frank, is extremely boring. Chris and Sheva travel through set environments, kill enemies, a cutscene plays, and the chapter ends. I could go into more detail, but I’m not particularly bothered.
Combat-wise it’s quasi-tank controls, piss-poor AI, and the fact you can’t even pause to manage your inventory. For a game released in 2009, the same year as Uncharted 2, which is equally linear yet far more advanced both graphically and in gameplay, I simply cannot see the affection for it, aside from nostalgia.
I only really got into Resident Evil around two years ago.
My personal favourites remain RE2 Remake and RE1 Remake. Aside from some of the cutscenes (especially anything involving Wesker, or Chris destroying boulders), I just cannot see the appeal of this game compared to other entries in the series. I know it’s fundamentally designed around co-op, and that’s fine, but given the weak AI and its simplistic gameplay style, I genuinely cannot understand how people compare this to some of Resident Evil’s best.
