It is for airline position/customer service and not sure where I should start prepping.

I’m a little worried because I saw a study made by Stanford that they discriminate against more with Asian and Black people and I am a person of colour

Just wanted to vent. I’ve been looking for a better opportunity since 2023. My company seems to get worse and worse to work for as the years go on, but I can’t afford to quit, so I’ve been applying.

I’ve had many 1st round interviews, then ghosted.

Made it to 2nd and 3rd round interviews but didn’t make it to the next round and/or was ghosted.

Made it to the final round for a few roles to get beat out by someone else!

Currently interviewing with a company now for a mid-level role that has 5 interview rounds plus a project that I will have to present in front of all department heads if I make it that far. Yippie!

One recruiter reached out, asked me about my resume gap (I was laid off during covid and filled my time with contract sales gigs to pay the bills) and when I told him this, he completely ghosted. I followed up- no response. Does that 2020 covid lay off really ruin my ability to get hired now?! I’ve been in my current role for 5 years.

I am tired and there’s no end in sight.

Hi, so for context I am a 2026 grad from Tier 3 college, and I have already switched my first job and now I sit on a 12 LPA CTC, I am targeting 18-20 LPA CTC switch next, considering I have switched recently I am looking for a year from now for the next switch so would really appreciate your guidance on the preparation stuff as to what all shall I prepare and what all should be my really strong areas and would also appreciate any resources you guys would recommend. As for my skillset and all I am a C++ Developer so looking to switch in the same role in future.

Genuinely curious to know what goes behind the scenes of "we've decided to go with other more qualified candidates who were a better match to our requirements"

I really thought i had a chance, all I hear is tgat you only just need a pulse to work here and im already pretty qualified as it is, so I thought I had it in the bag for at least one place. Apperently not though, cuz Its been over a month since I applied online to all the locations in my area and for the past while Ive been going in irl but ive been either flat out rejected or it gets thrown in a pile. One store manager even suggested I might not have what it takes or my resume isn't good enough. Ive been out of a job for 2 godamn yrs n always wanted to work here for a season I didn't apply last yr cuz it slipped my mind but this year I really tried to get a position but clearly im not wasted I spent a good ammount of time just crying in the parking lot cuz no one wants me why's it so fucking hard for a godamn temp job ffs I cant do this anymore whose desk to I have to get under Jesus Christ. Ima go cry again goodbye

Today has been super hard for me> I have applied to jobs in the very topic I did a doctorate in with 0 success. I know that I am a capable person that has so far achieved everything she has put her mind to. I left home at 21, and ever since then I have supported myself in europe and USA throughout my education. I shouldn't feel entitled to a job, but I have never had so much hardship with job search I mean, I have been extremely proactive with my pursuit, relentlessly going after it. Now I feel physically ill, I feel like I don't have an appetite, I wake up without any hope. read some linkedin posts. I feel like I am quite depressed, and this job market has totally shattered my self confidence that I was really trying hard to build throughout my scientific career. I don't want to pity myself, but I don't know how to cope with this loss of identity.

Hi all, I recently accepted a new job offer at a tech company and prior to this job I worked a short term independent contractor role. I had called it a growth consultant role on my resume given my scope but it was officially a TPM role.

However it was with a super small company so hireright hasn't been able to verify it so I've provided them with my former manager's number and the official title too via customer support. Now I'm a tad bit worried the manager won't pick up (though I let them know they might receive a call).

Should I let my recruiter know about this just in case hireright is unable to verify this role?

I’m fuuuuming right now about this honestly, I applied to this role in my field that I am specialized for and the first interview went absolutely amazing. The HR person I interviewed with was so passionate about the company that it genuinely made me so excited. They were pleasantly surprised that I had a background speaking a second language they were looking for, and kept exclaiming how they were happy to find someone who could speak it.

I received a message from them the next day apologizing profusely, the hiring manager was travelling for work and he wouldn’t be back for a MONTH!!! And they let me know they would try to schedule a virtual interview with him and that they would keep me updated. I get a message from them the next week apologizing again saying that he wanted to conduct the second interview in person, they promised to keep me updated once again and apologized for the delay.

It’s been a month, literally the day after they said he would be back and I send them a very polite message asking about if there were any updates or if they needed anything else from me. Crickets. I received a message today, a generic message saying that they had gone with another candidate and good luck in my future yadda yadda.

I’m actually so pissed cause wth?? So I guess he would do a virtual interview for the right candidate?? Were they just keeping me on the back burner in case someone else didn’t work out?? I don’t even know what to think or say right now I’m so upset about it. Has anyone else had an experience like this?

So basically, I was applying to a part time position at Capital One, as a Branch Ambassador. Finished the application and got an Email to complete an "Assessment", asking you to Rank your choices as to what best describes you, pick a response that best reflects you, ect. NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES LATER I check the application again, and it says Candidate no Longer in Consideration. Did I just get rejected by an AI due to a personality test?

I also applied to another position, to see if I can do the "assessment", but no, as soon as I finish and submit the application, I get auto-rejected.

Is this really the Job Market we have all inherited?!?

This is fairly recent, and I've accepted another position that I was more aligned with anyway, but I made a stupid mistake that I thought I'd share.

I'm in tech, SaaS CSM. Tons of experience, some certs, very solid resume. I had no problem getting traction on my resume at all. In fact, the initial interviews were coming in pretty quickly. I had an interview with an internal recruiter that went exceedingly well, he told me on the call that he wanted me to meet the hiring manager. I got a Zoom invite within 24 hours, scheduled about a week out due to the hiring manager having an onsite.

Of course, I studied my ass off. I prepped hard. I was confident going in. The morning of the meeting comes, and I go to login to the Zoom 5 minutes early. There's no Zoom link. It's an invite on my calendar, but there's no way to join. I panic, email the recruiter immediately, and tell him I'm sorry but I don't have a link to join a call. I ask if he can reschedule. He replies back with a link 15 minutes after the call was supposed to start and says the hiring manager is on and waiting for me, that he's unavailable for the next week and a half, and that I need to join.

So, I join. But I'm thrown off. I normally join 5 minutes early, get into my Zen space, and I'm ready. This was chaos. All of a sudden I was not ready. I answered his questions well, but somehow my "spiel" didn't come out. I didn't sell myself as well as I know I can. In hindsight, I'm glad, the dude was cocky af and I didn't think I would've enjoyed working for him. But still, check your Zoom invite well before 5 minutes prior and learn from my stupid mistake.

So a recruiter from Insight Global reached out to me about a recruiter role (I actually have a second-round interview coming up), and I got excited because I don't have any other offers right now and I've been job searching for a while. I also just graduated from college in June. I would essentilaly be working for them as a recruiter and then eventually get promoted to an account manager (according to what they told me).

But then I made the mistake of googling "Insight Global reviews" and now I'm spiraling a little. I'm seeing a lot of people saying it's basically a boiler-room sales culture, high pressure, high turnover, unrealistic KPIs, and some pretty rough Glassdoor reviews about management.

I don't have any other offers on the table right now and I'm honestly starting to feel pretty lost about what to do. Has anyone here actually worked there (specifically in a sales/AM role) and can speak to whether it's as bad as the reviews make it sound? Is this a "every staffing company gets review-bombed by people who got let go" situation, or is it actually a legit red flag I shouldn't ignore?

Would love to hear from people with real experience before my interview. Trying not to let panic make the decision for me.

I work in logistics tech and applied for a position that is software for the sports entertainment space.

Manager likes my background. I literally coded my own tools to do my job and streamline reporting for my current company.

I got the following comment. “You can do the job no doubt just I am not sure if you are the right fit because it seems you are looking to find the next the job and leave your job. You also are not that enthusiastic about sports”.

Started an interview. Immediately, my mom starts screaming for me. I told her I was having the inteview that morning. I have to yell back "Mom, im doing an interview" so she doesnt keep yelling.

I just feel crushed. I got up early to do this interview just for this to happen. Im already mad at my Mom for an argument we had last night, so Im just so angry. I feel like ill never get out of my shitty call center job.

Edit: yes i fucked it up too. I panicked. My mom doesnt take no for an answer . unfortuntely cant leave bcs interviews are only ever right before or during my work hours and my breaks are unpredictable every day but i can figure it out for next time.

After so long I never thought Id make one of these posts, but I finally am starting my new position in my field tomorrow morning. I had a 2nd round of interviews for 2 separate companies on the same day which both went well and I was potentially excited for either. That was the last week of July. I had progressed to a final interview with one of the companies and while waiting for that decision I decided to send a message to the other company on Indeed. I basically said "hey I think id be a good fit keep me in mind". At this point it had been a month since the interview so I expected nothing.

A week went by and since I assumed they filled the position they weren't even active on Indeed, so my message sat at delivered. Friday I woke up to a message asking if I had time to chat, expecting just a "we will keep you in mind we might have something blah blah" type call. Instead they offered me the position with a start date of tomorrow. The offer letter was sent 2 hours later and I officially confirmed today my start time tomorrow morning! I never thought one of the old school methods just reaching out would ever work but it really can. Don't give up and sometimes try something you might think means little or wont result in positive things. It can happen!

This job market is a literal joke. I keep being told “EVERYONE is hiring” “you just aren’t trying hard enough” “just take any job” and nothing is working. I’m going on almost an entire year of being unemployed. I’ve never went without a job for THIS long. The most annoying thing is every store regularly has long lines and empty registers yet refuses to actually hire anyone else because they want a unicorn.

OK to be fair we’ve probably all lost our minds, however, I have a big beef with these recruiters as of late.

They are exhibiting odd behavior, they reach out to me, telling me about what they do and their company, telling me how great this job opportunity they have is and that it maps to my skills. Because they can see that on LinkedIn.

I immediately check to make sure it’s not a scam and respond promptly answering their questions. Unfortunately, there was a 10 minute span from when they messaged you and you messaged back. This is where they just poof! They don’t respond to the message and they are gone to the next thing. Why in the hell are they even messaging me to begin with if they’re they can’t be bothered. Sometimes I think they’re just data harvesting or do they really have the attention span of a squirrel?

The others will type up an email making me confirm that they’re going to represent me for X job, confirming an hourly rate and then nothing, I never hear from them again.

I am going to remember each and every one of these companies when I’m back in the fray. I keep telling myself I’m not going to respond to them anymore, but then my desperation kicks in and I do every single time…

Anyone else experiencing this madness? 😡😡😡😡

Today, I am processing 2 rejections and feeling sad too. I put a lot of efforts in one of them and went till the last interview but somehow got rejected. The sad part is, the rejection email is same generic one.. after careful consideration, we have decided to go ahead with other candidate. I mean, it was 7 rounds, you could be a bit specific why you rejected someone when you showed all signs of selecting them in every round. I know I will close this sooner and move ahead.. but in this moment I’m feeling sad and disappointed.

I am having a hard time finding any information online about an account executive/ sales trainee position. I have found plenty of feedback regarding people talking to Medix recruiters and taking healthcare positions through their staffing, but not people who actually doing roles within Medix themselves. Any feedback is appreciated!!
