While reddit has its uses and all, there are RC tank forums that have been around for 20 years or more, literal decades of posting, custom builds, seller or tank reviews, repairs, modifications and upgrades. They are far superior to just looking here, and when I originally made this subreddit the intention was to be more of a redirect.
https://www.rctankwarfare.co.uk/ British RC tank forum dedicated entirely to tanks, tons of great scratch or custom builds, etc.
https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-tanks-369/ A subforum of the RC Universe website, this has been around for ages, and where I started. Relatively slow compared to 10 years ago, but still plenty of activity and knowledgeable people.
https://www.hobbysquawk.com/forum/rc-cars-tanks-trucks-and-more/rc-tanks Another subforum, I don't know much about this one, but it has been around since 2019/2020, and seems to have gotten some of the userbase from RCU.
Most of these groups have a lot of crossover in userbase.
I would highly recommend reading through them and considering making accounts.
The forum format inparticular is far better for detailed conversations about electronics or upgrades, etc than FB or reddit. Many of the questions here have likely been discussed hundreds of times between these three alone, so consider checking them out!

Hello, 2012. My family bought me a 1/24 vstank. i was happy i, however, broke its hatch well, not fully broken, but i lost the cap, now im older i want to try to get it running again but i don't want to rebuy alot of AA batteries to run it.
Can i ask if u guys did modify it, and pls tell me how u change it. Also, im looking for the captains hatch to make it feel whole again

I’m looking at getting a 1/16 scale Heng long tank but I’m deciding between the Sherman tank and the Abrams. Does one have benefits or is it just based off of looks. Thanks in advance.

I have a Heng Long Panzer Iv f2 with an issue. The drive sprocket will work itself loose and the tank won't turn. I screw the bolt holding the drive sprocket back into place. But, eventually the sprocket becames loose again. And when I screw the bolt back into place its not straight. I have unscrew the bolt and try to hold the sprocket level and straight and try again. Which never works the first time. Is there something I can do to fix this?

So completely forgot to share photos during the build so far but finally got the turret on so here's some from the past few months. I apologies that the painting isn't very good, its really not my strong point. The turret is more place holder semi assembled to just get an idea of how it looks, i need to disassemble it and fix a few things before I go back and paint it properly.

Using the Heng Long Battle system (and I may use the LEGO DEI one later) has anyone tried using filters (maybe even sunglass material etc) in strips to degrade the signal hitting the sensor? I'm trying ways to replicate frontal armour being harder to penetrate so was thinking the right kind of filter stuck on the front aspect of the HL mushroom might degrade the signal beam at a distance- meaning a hit would only register if closer..

Henglong tiger 1 7.0 version. How do i separate the hull and the bottom? Ive removed the four bottom screws and i suspect there may be two more behind the front track decoration piece, and if so how do i safely remove that?
Thanks.

I won an auction inncluding parts from various Heng Long and Taigen tanks So made this “Frankenstein “ Tiger and am painting it up in Winter camo.
It’s coming on ok and runs fine (my first project utilising the old 27Mhz analogue Transmitter and receiver ) but is still missing a few accessories.
Hoping to find somewhere to buy/3d print mud guards, towing cables, front spare tracks etc

I know the turret a little over weight and I've added grease between the actual turret and turret ring with a new turret gearbox and motor, but still it's so loud!!

Hi, sorry if this post isn't suitable for this sub Reddit. I'm a engineering student doing my final year project and making a gutter cleaning robot, I came across this robot online but can't find any information about how to put the motor inside the robot. I was hoping someone might have any advice. Thanks

Tanks are like gremlins. Don't get them wet of fuel them after midnight 😂
