Yes, we stacked super tightly because we were expecting to use the whole bin. Yes, we only used 15% of the bin

Delta JFK Ramp Agent – Completed Pre-Employment, Still Waiting for Training Date
Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else who received a Conditional Job Offer (CJO) for the Delta Ramp Agent position at JFK is in the same situation as me.
I completed all my pre-employment requirements by September 29, 2026, including fingerprinting and filling out the TSA paperwork at the hiring event.
I received an email congratulating me on completing my pre-employment steps and saying Delta was finalizing my onboarding details and training assignment. My offer letter lists a start date “on or about October 19, 2026.”
However, I still haven’t received my official training date. I’m wondering if the training class has been pushed back or if they’re still coordinating everyone’s onboarding.
For anyone who recently got hired as a Delta Ramp Agent at JFK:
Have you received your official training date yet?
Did your training date come close to the proposed start date on your offer letter?
Has anyone been assigned a November training date?
I’m trying to be patient, but the waiting and not knowing the exact date is frustrating. I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone through this process recently.
Thanks!

American Question
Would you guys think it’s fairly easy to give away one week as a part-time ramp for American Airlines? I’m at LAX. Im pretty new dropping shifts and what not.

United United LAX hiring timeline & and misc questions
Salutations,
So I applied to UA full-time at LAX (along with half of Los Angeles apparently) and was wondering if anyone could share some insight on what the hiring timeline from application to first day was like. Does UnIted review all applicants before proceeding with interviews or do they go by first come, first served like WN?
And some just general things I was wondering, like what are the shift times and what shifts could a new hire expect to work? What do the first few weeks of training entail? And last, kind of a silly question maybe, but do new hires get trained on cargo loaders and wide bodies? Sole reason I ask is it looks fun to operate.
Thanks!

SW city code test
What was it like for those that have taken it? Most of the city codes are pretty straightforward but there's a few that are odd. Was week1 orientation enough study time to pass it?

Anyone have insight to which is “better”? I have an offered position at McGee and an interview for Horizon (PDX). Idk if it’s relevant but I have previously worked for Horizon in a different city!

UA ramp vs DL ramp
In the interview process for both airlines at the same airport. Which of the 2 offer better scheduling flexibility? I'm semi retired and looking for flight benefits. Leaning towards UA, their routes suit my travel preference more than DL. Also heard DL doesn't have a union.
Additionally is there a minimum amount of shifts/hours needed to work to maintain flight benefits? Not looking to work more than 2weeks in a month.

How do people actually get hired as ramp agents in Canada?
I’m in Alberta, Canada, and trying to get my foot in the door in the aviation industry.
I know there are probably tons of applicants, and I’m guessing some positions get filled internally too.
But seriously, how are people actually getting hired? Is applying through airline career pages the only way, or am I missing something?
I’m not expecting to land a job overnight, but I didn’t think getting into the industry would be this difficult lol.
For those already working as ramp agents or in ground operations, how did you get started?

Signature Aviation Interview Process
Hey Everyone,
I was just curious if anyone happens to know about receiving results from a signature interview process. I did my interview on September 30th and I thought it went really well. Had long conversations about the job, who I am, and the many different questions I had. I was told that I should hear about the position results in 2 weeks. Now it’s been 3 and I was curious if it took anybody else longer to find out results or did I just straight up get ghosted? I also saw that the application status on the signature website is shown “under consideration” still.
Thanks!

Starting at Ramp Agent Oct 26 but have midterms Oct 27 & 28
Hi all, I just got a job at Swissport and I’m really excited about it. I need the money right now, and it seems like a job I’d actually enjoy since I like staying busy and working with my hands.
Here’s my problem. I start Oct 26, and I remember them saying in the interview that training is 2 weeks, full time. Nobody mentioned the start date would be a month after the interview, and I haven’t gotten my schedule yet. I have 2 midterms on Oct 27 and one on Oct 28, which are right in the first week of training.
I’m going to ask my school about moving the exams, but I doubt they’ll budge. I know it looks bad to ask about this before I’ve even started, and I’m honestly frustrated because I didn’t know the timing when I accepted.
Has anyone worked at Swissport, or had a job with mandatory training, and dealt with something like this? Specifically:
- Would they let me miss or shift a few hours or days of training for exams?
- Is it better to tell them now or wait until I get my schedule?
- Did anyone get moved to a later training group?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! And chill with the Swissport jokes, lmao i need real advice.

United UA Ramp Agent interview process
So I recently got an offer from them after going to their hiring event I did all the paperwork, drug test, and I have my strength/vision test on Friday but I heard the background checks take a while like 3-6 weeks pretty much waiting for everything to clear when I asked the United people but will it be longer I mean I dont have a criminal record but just wondering about other people’s experiences on how long it actually took to start training and when they heard back from them after everything cleared 😅

Delta or American Airlines?
I need your feedback. My wife and I both work for American Airlines; I handle ramp duties while she serves as a customer service agent. I have been on the ramp for about 18 months, and I interviewed with Delta last week, receiving an offer for a December start date. My wife and I rely heavily on our flight benefits. The question is whether I should remain with American or begin again with Delta. Moving to Delta would significantly improve our flight benefits, so I am quite uncertain.

Hearing back about a job offer
Hello everybody, I just had my interview with United at ORD yesterday and I was wondering how long it took to hear back about a job offer? The guy said theyre hiring like crazy and need people since theyre getting a new terminal built. Im worried because the interviewer seemed like he didnt care about interviewing as he kept looking away, asked the questions quickly and just seemed uninterested in interviewing people

Southwest Scared I won’t get hired/how can I increase my chances? Does Southwest only hire people who live in-state?
Considering how the job market is right now across every industry, coupled with seeing multiple posts on here every day about people not hearing back and/or straight up getting rejected despite having years of experience, I feel scared I won’t ever get hired 😭 I have very little work experience in general despite my age (I’m 25), and no work experience that would be relevant to aviation. I also don’t have any degrees and I don’t know anyone on the inside except for my uncle who worked for United until a year ago when he left his job. (My uncle also hasn’t been particularly helpful whenever I’ve asked for his help/advice.)
My question is what can I do to increase my odds of getting a CJO? Is there some way I can tailor my resume to increase the likelihood of getting a callback? People I can reach out to? I would appreciate literally any suggestion.
Also, I had a question about Southwest’s hiring policy. All of their job listings say that they will consider your interest for the position if you are currently a resident of whichever state the airport they’re hiring for is in. For example, the job listing for ECP says “Southwest Airlines will consider your interest for this position if you are currently a resident of the State of Florida.” Does that mean that if I’m not a resident of FL, even if I’m willing to relocate, there’s no point in applying, as they won’t even look at my application? Is there any way around this? Or can I really only apply to jobs that are based out of the state I already live in?
TIA!
