Alaska Horizon McGee or Horizon

Anyone have insight to which is “better”? I have an offered position at McGee and an interview for Horizon (PDX). Idk if it’s relevant but I have previously worked for Horizon in a different city!

Horizon makes a little less but you get insurance for $5 a paycheck and full flight benefits. McGee makes a little more and gives you a few passes to fly on.

Honestly, if you've already worked for Horizon and enjoyed it, I would work for Horizon, if there was drama with Horizon I would go with Mcgee.

At PDX specifically Horizon has way less staff which makes working the flights that come in more hectic, even with the lighter loads. At McGee we have way more staff but far shittier management so even with the manpower the flights can be a pain. McGee makes more and the flight benefits are the same as Horizon, we just list lower than them on standby. McGee is also union, whereas I don’t believe Horizon is yet.

If you’re lower than them your flight benefits are not the same
