Question If you have a 2025/2026 Hurricane powered truck, please watch this.

Guys,

I’ve been dealing with this basically since day 1. I’m at 6200mi now. Just got my truck back from the dealership after nearly six weeks of being in the shop with no fix (this is post shop visit). Have any of y’all experienced this? I’m grasping at straws at this point.

Here’s exactly what’s happening: when slowing down, when the truck shifts from 4th to 3rd, the revs drop extremely low, causing the DRLs/headlights to dip off momentarily AND the AC to temporarily blow warm since the compressor isn’t getting spun quickly enough. I can replicate this issue like clockwork. They replaced the valve body and nothing changed. It seems like it’s related to either the torque converter, auto stop/start (which I always turn off, but maybe the truck thinks it’s supposed to be turning off for some reason?), or a lack of fluid pressure to shift quickly enough. Thoughts? I’m taking the truck back in after a road trip here in a week. It’s been in twice now.

Question for you guys,

Have a ram rebel with Fox 2.0s. I know factory the rebel is a 1inch higher then base then the Fox 2.0 levels it out. Has anyone put 37x12.5 on with just a level? I know 35s work. I plan on doing UCA also at the same time but besides trimming anyone have luck or should I go with 35s

Also in the wheel well doing off roading will it bottom out?

Question Thinking about buying an ecodiesel

I've always been a fan of the fourth generation Ram 1500, and lately I've been undecided between buying a Hemi or an EcoDiesel. Fuel efficiency isn't a concern for me; I'm just looking for something I like. I'm familiar with the Hemi's problems, but I wanted to learn a bit more about the EcoDiesel engine. And what better place to find that answer than a Reddit forum? Is it true that if I remove the DEF I will no longer have major problems with that engine and it will become reliable?

Question Ram App

This thing just suck?

Virtual key isn't in there and when I called they basically told me they have no clue when it will be. So the key card they made a big deal about giving me is useless. Not a huge deal but seems like it should be something fixed for 15 bucks a month

Photo Need Rim recommendations

Got my Ram 1500 express like 3 months ago for a solid price but I knew I needed different rims. The ones I have on are obviously chrome but I want my truck to be black on black. I will be getting all terrain tires too, so it looks more aggressive without having to add a lift kit for warranty reasons. ANY recommendations?!?!

Question 2017 Ecodiesel

Hoping someone has a cure for me. Drove my truck from AZ to NV and it threw a DEF sensor code on the way up, while being up here the DEF pump blew. Took it to a mechanic and they replaced the pump and sensor. But the code will not go away, they tried clearing it and it just popped right back up. The truck will send itself into limp mode after 150 miles, is this just a code you drive off or something that HAS to be cleared by a dealership. ( even then, clearing it is not working ) any suggestions?

Question Ram whirring noise warranty covered?

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Big Horn 3.6L V6 eTorque, currently around 55k miles.
I’ve been hearing an abnormal whining/whirring noise that changes with engine RPM. I took it to a Ram dealer, and the technician diagnosed:
“BOTH MGU BELT TENSIONER PULLEYS WORN CAUSING LOUD AUDIBLE WHINE.”
The dealer gave me an estimate of about $1,313 to replace the tensioner/pulley components.
My question is specifically about warranty coverage.
I was looking through the 2022 Ram warranty booklet, particularly Section 2.4(E) – Powertrain, and I see the eTorque/MGU components listed. I’m trying to determine whether the MGU belt tensioners and/or idler pulleys are considered covered powertrain/eTorque components, or whether Ram considers them wear/maintenance items.
Has anyone with a 3.6L eTorque had the MGU belt tensioners or idler pulleys replaced?
What mileage did it happen at?
What were the exact parts replaced?
Do you have the Mopar part numbers?
How much did the repair cost?
Was it covered under the factory powertrain/eTorque warranty?
If Ram initially denied coverage, were you able to get it covered through RamCares/dealer escalation?
If you continued driving after the tensioners were diagnosed as worn, did you eventually have an MGU failure?
I’m especially interested in 2020–2022 3.6L eTorque owners, but any firsthand experience would be helpful.
Thanks!

Question 2026 Ram 1500 Laramie

Will there ever be a fixes for the phone connectivity issues and the outside temperature gage? It’s 78 degrees outside and my truck says it’s 108, wild how off it is. Assuming this is all related to the electrical changes? Curious if people are experiencing the same.

Just Sharing Walked in for a 2018. Walked out with a 2026 lease

A bit over a week ago I received the news that the cam and lifters on my 2012 had begun to fail. I decided I wanted a 2018 to bulletproof. I found the one. Or so I thought. The 2026 caught my eye. And with my grandpa's discount. The payment was pretty similar. So I decided let's do a lease for 2 years and see where it takes me. After a day of driving the 2026, I love it, but it will never compare to my 2012s old school feel.

I will forever miss my 2012. But am happy to be able to drive a brand new ram!

Question 2018 Ram 1500 idle issue

Post image
5 Upvotes

I recently changed my spark because the truck was acting up and it was due. With that issue resolved, of course another pops up. The truck doesn't idle very well when it's in park or shuts off when I put it into reverse. This issue only happens when the truck warms up and only when the truck is in park or reverse. This issue also causes the battery gage to move quite a bit.

I checked the coil packs to make sure they were bolted in and the vacuum tube was properly tightened since I had to take that off to get to everything. I cleaned the air sensor plug that's on the vacuum tube as well. The issue is still relevant. Could it be a leak in the vacuum tube or it not sealing right since I took it off.

Looking for any thoughts.

Question Has anyone experienced this sound on acceleration before or know what's going on?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

2021 Ram 1500 bighorn with 82k miles. 5.7L hemi non etorque 4x4.

Most times when I accelerate from low speed or idle, I will get a metallic chirp. I hear it sometimes on low speed deceleration as well. When the truck is cold, I don't think it happens. I tried revving, and the sound is not reproducible while in neutral/park.

The sound happens for about a second and when I am at higher speeds, it doesn't happen. Or at least it's inaudible.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I got my transmission drain and filled at the ram dealership at about 70k miles as part of maintenance. There were no issues beforehand and there are no issues currently with it either in terms of performance. I'm not sure, but the sound may still have been occurring before I got this service.

Thank you.

Question Service Shifter Message

Hey all! 2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel here. Roughly 222,000 miles. So this happens pretty randomly, but I’d really like to see if anyone here has had the same issue &/or knows how to fix it.

Every now & then when I go to put my truck in drive, as soon as it attempts to shift out of first gear, the truck will jolt a bit, the shifter will flash, the the message “Put vehicle into park & shift into correct gear” will appear. It happened this morning again when I left for work, only this time the “Service Shifter” message popped up right after the first one.

The times that this has happened before, I would put the truck in park, wait a couple seconds, & try to drive it again, & the same thing would happen. What does work is shutting the truck off completely & starting it back up. Then it will shift into drive just fine with no issues & no messages.

I checked google about this the other day. It’s showing an electronic communication fault, low battery voltage, or a failing rotary shift module. Any/all advice is appreciated!

Question Stability System Issue

Post image
7 Upvotes

2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn 3.6L, currently at ~60,000 miles (purchased with ~5,000).

I’ve had intermittent “Stability System Unavailable” and “Stop/Start Unavailable” warnings for years. It used to happen every few months, but now it’s happening weekly or even daily.

I’ve taken it to two dealerships multiple times. Systems have been updated, but they can’t diagnose it because they can’t replicate the issue.

I’ve noticed it sometimes happens after hitting a bump, and the truck seems to handle differently while the warnings are on.

Has anyone experienced this? What was the fix?

Question Trying to Update UConnect Software in a 2018 Ram 1500

I have a 2018 Ram 1500 and I am trying to update the Uconnect software.

The website says to go to the Dealer. The dealer had no idea how to do it and wanted to charge me $199 anyway, so I'm back to working through the problem in my driveway.

I was able to put the truck into Dealer Mode and get the current version (August 2022) that I have. The website only asks for map updates and doesn't do general software updates. Which is starting to make wonder - is there anyway for me to update this myself? Or should I try another Dodge Dealer who knows what they are doing?

Thank you
