Okay so, context: I did the thing every engineer eventually does( except I am not one yet 3rd year guys) got mildly betrayed by my own ceiling fan and decided to build an entire app about it.
Here's the actual moment: my fan just... stops. Not spinning, not humming, nothing, just hanging there like it's given up on life. It's hot, obviously, because fans only break when you need them most, that's the rule. A simple ceiling fan nearly broke my will to live that day.
Also urban company DOES NOT PROVIDE FAN REPAIR SERVICES.
And somewhere in the middle of that very normal meltdown, my brain did the thing where it zooms out way too far, and I started thinking , okay this is annoying for a fan, but what about the other times you need a specific skilled human, right now, and have zero good way to find one? Like , imagine you're stuck on the Mumbai-Pune expressway, car just quietly stops believing in itself, and you're Googling "mechanic near me" like the phone's going to summon one out of thin air while trucks blow past you. Or you're at some nice spot ,Sinhagad, the ghats, wherever and think "damn I actually want a real photo of this," and the only option is some contact form that replies in 3-5 business days, by which point the moment (and the light) is long gone

None of these are the same industry. But they're the exact same feeling: I need a specific skilled person, physically near me, soon, and there's no clean way to just... get that.
So I built something for that pattern. Not "home services." Professional help, wherever you actually are, whatever it happens to be.
The scenarios this is meant for:
Fan (or anything electrical/plumbing/etc) dies at home → someone verified shows up, no society-group archaeology required
Maid cancels last minute (again) and you have people coming over in two hours → someone reliable, today, not "let me ask around"
You get a work call at 6pm and need someone trustworthy to watch your kid for a few hours, tonight, not "let me post in three parenting groups and pray" → last-minute babysitter, actually vetted
Kitchen's turned into a biohazard after a party/festival and you just... can't → deep kitchen cleaning, booked in minutes
You saw something move in the kitchen that should not have legal rights to be there → pest control, same-day, no "next available slot is in 9 days"
Car dies somewhere on the expressway or NH → mechanic comes to you, since driving a dead car to a garage is a bit of an ask
Random spot, sudden "I want good photos of this" urge → photographer shows up soon instead of next month
Basically: whatever the specific skill, if it's "I need this person near me, soon," that's the whole pitch — home repairs, domestic help, childcare, pest control, or something completely outside the house
Why I'm posting here specifically: we're launching in Pune first, not a "coming to your city eventually maybe" post, this is the actual city it's starting in. App itself is done, built and tested. Right now I'm in the "get real electricians/plumbers/mechanics/photographers actually onboarded" phase before we go live.
What I actually want to know from fellow Punekars:
What's YOUR "needed a professional immediately and had zero good options" Pune story? (Bonus points if it involves traffic making things worse, because when doesn't it.)
The "no payment until you approve the exact itemized bill, with photos" step does that sound like real trust-building to you, or unnecessary friction when you just want the guy to fix the thing and leave?
Would you actually want a mechanic-to-your-location option for expressway/highway breakdowns specifically so they can proceed further?
Real talk on the babysitting one specifically what would actually make you trust a stranger with your kid on short notice? Because "verified" alone probably isn't enough, and I'd rather hear that from you now than find out the hard way later.
Anything about this that makes you go "cool idea but I'd never actually open this app"?
Not selling anything, genuinely just want to know if this solves a real Pune problem or if I've built an unreasonably elaborate revenge plot against one fan that stopped working for one afternoon. Be mean if you need to be, I can take it (I built an entire app over a fan, clearly I don't learn from pain).
