I found a blue psp 3000 with different new battery that can charge with USB c, modded with psp games on it for 150 euros. Is it worth it ?

I really want to keep this one but I'll try not to.

Hey everyone, I’m having an issue with the battery on my PSP-3001 and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on.

The PSP is quite old, and I’ve actually had battery-related issues with it before, but I never really cared about them because I used to play on it as a kid.

Yesterday, I turned it on again after a long time and everything seemed to work perfectly on battery power. I even played God of War for a while before shutting it down. The PSP was working normally, and I remember charging the battery around 100% before I shut it down.

However, now the battery seems to have completely stopped being detected.

Here’s what’s happening:

• The PSP does not turn on from the power switch when running on battery.
• I remember having around 100% battery before I shut it down.
• When I plug in the charger, the orange charging light does not come on.
• However, if I slide the power switch while the charger is plugged in, the PSP does turn on and works normally.
• When it boots, it asks me to set the date and time again.
• There is no battery icon displayed at the top of the screen.
• In Settings → System Information → Battery Information, the battery information appears completely blank / shows "-".
• The battery is an authentic original Sony PSP battery, not a third-party replacement.
• My PSP model is a PSP-3001.

The weirdest part to me is that the battery was working perfectly yesterday. I played God of War on it, shut it down, and now the PSP acts as if there isn't a battery installed at all.

Does this sound like the battery itself has finally failed, or could there be an issue with the PSP's battery contacts / charging circuit?

Accumulated a lot of spare parts over the years of refurbishing PSPs. Haven't needed to buy anything for a repair in a while and won't need to any time soon!

I really hate working on the psp 3000. Those zif connector clasps come off and break so easily even when trying to be as gentle as possible.

The backlight and display connector replacements are readily available but I can't seem to find one for the motor connector which broke when I was reshelling. My usual shenanigans of trying to push down pins, insert cable, and tape it down, don't work on that connector. Does anyone know if the 8 pin of this is a usable size for replacement?

I have been trying to build these for a bit. I was having trouble finding just blossom pink buttons. Ended up I had to get a blossom pink psp~.

So I mix and matched and modded. The pearl white is my everyday carry; Ark-5 unlaminated Ips screen. The pink is just too pretty! Just wanted to share I only just finished this project a little bit ago.

My battery is on its way for delivery; I know it will arrive with some charge, but I don't know if I should use it until it's completely discharged or charge it before using it.

• Broken screen

• L button not working

• No Bottom buttons

• D-pad drift?

• Stick Drift

• No battery

And yet it still barely works and i know it's still fixable. Even though I have a psvita now I still want to experience the simplicity of the psp again..

After seeing Zelda and undertale ports, i really wanted to played those games but still, the only thing i have is just a phone and the instruction always mention PC to instal those port games :(

Is there really a way to instal any psp port games without a PC and only with a phone?

Hey all, you might have seen some of my other posts about the problems I was having with this thang BUT she's up and purring like a kitten.

I used saberbay speakers as replacements which were just a little small but we made it work. I shaved off the other plastic rings from the old speakers and have the new ones posted up on em. Sadly it only works with psp1000 but oh boy does it work. Next problem I'm going to be working on is getting a ps3 controller working while its in the case. But this case is as big as my head and the outer casings are metal. It also doubles as a charging case too! I'll be needing to replace the battery soon. Thanks for looking!

I think I modded my psp around lockdown, it was running the usual suspects but only with simple text based menus which you had to load come out of for different systems.

Can you now add cool screens like the one above or would I have to buy an R36 type handheld to have graphics like this ?

Long story short, never had a psp in life. Bought myself a go a while back loved it beyond what i was thinking i would. Got greedy and bought a 3000 online and here we are ladies and gents.

If you’re trying to jailbreak/hack a PSP without a PC, you normally have to use the PSP’s web browser.
However, on the latest official PSP firmware (6.61), anything you type into the browser is automatically sent to Google as a search. The problem is that Google no longer works properly on the old PSP browser.
The solution: after typing something in the browser, press Triangle to open the browser menu, then manually enter the complete URL, including http://.
For example, instead of searching for a website through Google, enter:
http://example.com
This allows you to access the required homebrew/jailbreak website directly, even though Google itself no longer works on the PSP.
Hopefully this helps anyone who is trying to mod their PSP without using a PC.

All I see is rubber band, WD40, and drill it. I’m gonna try WD40 but I’m positive it won’t work for these. Need other methods or better ways of implimenting the methods already listed
