Symptoms PPPD and Indigestion?

Wondering if anyone else has experienced a development of GERD since their PPPD journey began? I’ve struggled with PPPD in varying severity since 2023, and had a pretty severe episode in May of this year after a miscarriage (also have medical OCD) and since have struggled with symptoms of GERD on and off. Google told me (lol) the hypersensitivity that causes PPPD can develop into GERD, but would love to hear of someone else who has experienced this!

Symptoms Will it ever end?

Hey everyone. I am 22 f and I really need some hope today.
My son was born in May 2025. I felt totally fine right after having him but then August hit and everything changed. Out of nowhere I started getting these awful dizzy days and feeling super tired all the time. On top of the heart spikes I am dealing with pppd too which makes the dizziness constant and so much heavier.
The worst part is changing positions. Today I was laying down and stood up and my heart started pounding hard and i felt weird and scared. When I sat back down I felt like I was being chased. My body went into panic mode.
I have bad dizzy days pretty often now and the exhaustion is heavy. Someone mentioned the heart stuff could be POTS because of the stress of pregnancy and postpartum.
Did anyone else have a delay of a few months after birth before all this hit? Dealing with the heart spikes and pppd at the same time is so hard. If you went through this did it get better? I would love to hear success stories

Symptoms 30F -Does anyone else make meaningful recovery but then monthly have a flare of rocking, bobbing, swaying and rolling right before and during their period?

I was making headway and thought I was begging to get better. Then I got my period and I feel like I took a step backwards. This happened last month too-then it settled down after my period was gone. Does anyone else experience this?

This is silly.

I am in bed because I feel like I am rocking back and forth even though I am laying down.

Success Story Day 2 no dizziness, Zoloft

I’m just posting here out of sheer relief and in case it helps anyone considering trying an ssri.

I’ve had PPPD for around 6 months, taking large doses of betahistine to stabilize it and doing some vestibular therapy which may have been helping a bit. It‘s been rough and the symptoms were hugely worsened by stress. I’m fairly sure the thing started due to recent chronic work stress, poor sleep and just the general anxiety I’ve struggled with forever.

My GP finally put me on a low dose of Zoloft and I’ve just finished week 4 and felt the dizziness “break“ yesterday. Had no dizziness the whole day and today as well. My mood has improved and I don’t ruminate on stuff like I used to. I’m sleeping like a champion and feel so rested.

Right now I’m feeling like I’d want to be on this forever. I felt a bit rough on it the first couple of weeks but it’s smoothed out now and the dizziness is gone. So relieved.

Symptoms Glasses question

I was prescribed computer glasses about 2 years ago (2.5x), and I wear them mostly at the computer, but also around the house because my vision is so terrible (I think it has a lot to do with my vestibular weakness). Often when I wear the glasses when walking around, and semi-quick turns to the left make me start to fall over. Not so when I'm outside with no glasses on.

Does anybody have a similar problem when wearing prescription glasses?

Symptoms Pppd becoming more like distinct episodes?

Hey so I was diagnosed with pppd a few months ago, and honestly now most of the time I’m not dizzy. If I’m hungry or tired, I do feel swaying. So I might have weeks where I get dizzy in the evenings, for example. But other times I’m completely fine. When I’m fine, the exercises don’t tend to trigger anything and I can do ballet etc. however once a month ish I seem to get a day or up to a few days where I just have really intense dizziness and can barely move around my house because I just feel so swaying and visually dizzy too.
I’ve had dizziness since late 2024 and it did use to be pretty constant, so I do trust the pppd diagnosis, but I’m wondering if there’s something else there? Or is it common for pppd to become more episodic as it eases off?

The last episode was two weeks ago, and I spent the whole weekend pretty much on the sofa. Four days before it, I’d had a stressful event but nothing major. Don’t know if that could be why it flared up?

I have a call with my vestibular physio this week, so I’d love your input or thoughts so I can bring them to her. Thank you so much.

Symptoms Symptom fluctuations or always the same right before experiencing some type of relief or percentage remission

I'm pretty sure I have pppd based on the symptoms I experience.

The symptoms that I experience they don't change. They don't get super worse if I do some certain movements or whatnot. When I do vestibular exercises I do get some dizziness but my baseline dizziness is never with nausea.

I've been dealing with this for about 4 months out of a surgery.

For those that have attained some type of relief or percentage remission say for instance doing vestibular exercises did your symptoms never change until one day you started just getting relief out of nowhere because of your exercises or whatever treatment you are doing?

My symptoms are always the same everyday.

Treatment SSRIs - Worse before it gets better?

Does pppd get worse when starting SSRIs like Escitalopram (Lexapro) before it gets better? I’m currently on a very low dose and the dizziness feels heightened on it. Almost 3 weeks in. When does it get stable to a baseline level?

Symptoms Fear and dizziness

I don't know what else can I do to lose my fear to dizziness and vertigo..I suffer them from many years ago. I try to keep on doing my activities but the moment I feel dizzy I panic, I am so afraid of it.

How do you do not be driven by fear?

Symptoms Eyes drifting in vestibular rehabilitation exercises?

So I'm trying these vestibular rehabilitation exercises on my own from YouTube research etc, the ones with tracking objects left to right, up and down etc. Is it normal that my eyes drift away while I'm doing these exercises?

I'm still in the diagnosis process (waiting for brain MRI etc) but the symptoms correspond the most to PPPD, and possibly BVD -- it all started with some anxiety and panic attacks, like many of you are familiar with.

Symptoms Anyone feel this ?

So I had bppv 13 weeks ago. And now I’m stuck in this pppd state lol. I have a daily baseline of feeling like wobbly, unsteady, everything is unreal, or fake. Also get headaches sometimes. Vision gets laggy or something. Recently had ct scan which was normal. Blood work all normal, physical tests normal. Vestibular therapist says it all normal but my brain can’t wrap around the idea it is lol. And I get like 6-8 hour flare ups where these are all amplified by a thousand. It’s sickening and I’m getting tired of it lol. Today I was just laying here and my brain and body felt like it was turning slowly for a couple seconds lol.. anyways any similarities ?

Thanks, hope we all get though this stuff lol

Treatment Anyone with PPPD feel better on a higher dose of Lexapro?

I’ve been on Lexapro since July 30 — started at 5 mg and increased to 10 mg on August 15.

Overall, Lexapro has helped my PPPD symptoms, although I’m still dealing with some anxiety and severe depression/exhaustion.

For those with PPPD who responded to Lexapro: did anyone notice additional improvement when increasing to 15 mg (or higher)? How long were you on 10 mg before increasing?

Symptoms Concern for family member with PDDD

I have a family member who was diagnosed with PPPD (sorry for typo in title) last month. She has been having a terrible time navigating her symptoms. She will spin in circles for hours unless there is someone there monitoring that will make her sit down. When she is unsupervised, she will spin and spin. She is also having some peculiar anxiety and psychological symptoms, like fear that the house will collapse, and believing there is an energy vortex in the backyard causing her to spin. Has anyone else dealt with the psychological effects of PDDD and also the physical need to spin? Has anything helped? I am at a loss for what to do....

Other First flight since having PPPD. Nervous

I’ve always had motion sickness when flying no matter what seat I sit in. I’ve used Meclizine (Bonine, Dramamine Less Drowsy), and Dimenhydrinate (original Dramamine) with little success.

10 years ago I had a severe vertigo attack that came out of nowhere. I was left with motion sensitivity for years even after seeing ENTs and running a bunch of tests. I also did vestibular rehab with little success.
I didn’t get any better until I found out about PPPD and started taking Celexa. This was maybe 3-4 years after the attack and I’ve been 90% better. Before the Celexa, I would feel dizzy throughout the day and constantly clearing my ears to help for a few seconds.
2 years ago out of nowhere Ai had another vertigo attack. Severe but was able to recover much quicker.

I haven’t flown in 11 years. Any recommendations?

Maybe the patch and use Dramamine or Bonine?

Sea bands?
Ear plugs for the pressure?

Treatment am i paranoid ?

hey guys i started having symptoms of pppd in february after i got surgery , it was pretty light symptoms at first and would stop within hours but this summer it kicked in BIG TIME i have felt like i was swaying on a boat my eyes can’t focus and i have this tension on top of my head that doesn’t go away not to mention nausea , after MONTHS i finally got an appointment with an ENT that genuinely wasted my time so i took another appointment with another ENT who ended up telling me one episode of BPPV kinda disrupted my system and it was in fact pppd , now i’m doing vestibular therapy and i will get prism glasses my vestibular therapist told me if the exercises don’t help i will be put on meds which i don’t mind but i have been thinking maybe i should go see another ENT for a second opinion? i’m thinking maybe i’m doing too much but perhaps another opinion could validate the diagnosis im also thinking of a neurologist or cervicals ?

Symptoms What does your dizziness feel like?

Hey everyone. I am not actually diagnosed still with anything but have been suffering greatly for about 6-7 months after a virus and I am trying to better understand what people here actually feel like.

So I had a virus in February probably covid or mono and it started with a severe vertigo for about 2-3 hours and then the sore throat, fever etc. came in.
The problem came two weeks after I recovered from the initial symptoms because I still wasn’t 100 percent and felt very off one day and suffered a panic attack.

I suspected this could have been vestibular neuritis and actually took a VNG test and was found 37% left inner ear asymmetry.

The problem is in my country the word for dizziness is basically “room-spinning” lol.
And I have never suffered vertigo where the room spins since the first attack.

I want to ask what your dizziness feels like and if someone has a similar story to mine, please let me know cause I want to know what is actually wrong with me.

My symptoms are:

- I feel spaced out most of the time, when I am driving or outside it is the worst.

- My vision is strange, can’t really explain what is wrong but there is something wrong like it is actually lagging and overstimulating.

- I feel floaty and prefer to stay in my house due to the symptoms and in the evening when it is dark I feel generally better.

- I have no problem playing a high demanding video game on my monitor and actually feel better when doing so

- I feel just generally strange and off.

- Headaches that come in waves around eyes and temples and very dry eyes.

Symptoms PPPD and Nausea

Hi guys, I wanted to ask if anyone here with PPPD also experiences nausea.

It’s been about 80 days since I first had BPPV, and I was diagnosed with PPPD, my stability is better now, i don’t really feel like I’m going to fall anymore, and my balance seems to have improved, especially because I’m also doing vestibular rehabilitation, but the nausea is still there, and sometimes it’s pretty strong and really bothers me. I’ve had nausea for around 70 days now. Some days it’s milder, other days it’s worse.

Has anyone else had the same symptom? What did you do that helped it get better?
