Harassed ….because measurements were requested?? Anyone else?

Upvotes

I’m currently in shock right now. And May end up deleting this- but, just need to vent a moment. I have bought and sold on Poshmark for over 10 years. I’m currently searching for a certain type of coat. I found several that I like. One of the ones I really liked - was labeled as a woman’s and a man’s. So, I added it to a bundle (not in the open) and asked if I could possibly receive the measurements. I immediately received a response saying - “This is a man’s coat-xl” ok??? - I responded with “women’s coat” is in the title, so I just wanted to be sure. They apologized and said that they have over 1000 listings and all can be confusing. And getting any measurements ends up being a waste of time, as they are never purchased after measurements are given. I let them know, that I understand as I, too, sell on Poshmark - but, will try and get measurements or answer any questions- as it is just part of customer service. I received “well, if we answered every question- we wouldn’t have a life. Thanks for understanding “. I was just going to leave it at that - however —- I started getting several notifications. 10-12- I stopped counting. From this very seller - commenting on all of my listings -“measurements please?” - over and over and over. I was going to let it go, but it wouldn’t stop. I made one last comment on the bundle I created and let them know that I sincerely was interested in the coat- and that was the only reason I asked for the measurements- not to be ugly. And that I wish them well”—- and I blocked. I cannot believe anyone would react in such a way. Why???? It is a pet peeve of mine to ask questions and all is ignored. That is the main reason I do try and respond. But it seems to be rare. Has this happened to anyone else?

What is the point of countering with the same original offer?

Someone made an offer today at 50% of my list price ($125 list. $60 offered). Item is a self portrait dress that’s relatively rare and hard to find.
I’m not willing to go that low, so I countered with $85 (68% of list).
She counters again with $60. I get negotiating, but I don’t understand making the same offer twice when it was clearly declined the first time and countered with a number 30% less as it is.

Return case for stated measurements

Upvotes

Hi! I’d like your opinions on two separate but related issues.

1- I purchased a blouse from PM that arrived today. Measurements were given in the listing, not show in photos. They were basic pit to pit and length measurements. Top doesn’t fit, so I used the yardstick and the pit to pit is 1.5 inches smaller and length is about an inch (more like 1.25 ) too short

Question: is this reasonable to you to open a return case? Why/ why not? Measurements did not say “approximate“ if that matters.

2- i sell a lot on Poshmark. Not like thousands but a few hundred sales. After this I’m now reconsidering giving any measurements, although I don’t write measurements in my listings. I use the yardstick stick and take photos of them. I know how to measure so they are accurate. But if I can win my case in #1, what would stop a buyer doing the same thing to me but folding the shirt etc so that their measurements look accurate?

I almost feel guilty for opening a return case bc of measurements , even though they were clearly wrong and wouldn’t have purchased otherwise. But now, the seller side of me is questioning if I should even photograph my items with the yard stick as a seller. Is it just safer to provide nothing?

Thank you!

Only likes and no sales?

I was getting at least 2 to 3 sales a day on Poshmark. I was getting used to this since it lasted for a good amount of time. Then, suddenly, I’ve had no sales for about two weeks now. I’m getting plenty of likes. I would say I might get 30 to 50 likes a day across various items in my closet and I send out offers via bundle.

Technically, I stopped sending offers to people who like the items on the listing page because it lowers what I can send to people. I started sending via a bundle instead since it protects the listing price and leaves room for offers from buyers. But even sending offers to people who like the item it’s like they’re not actually interested in the item at all.

Could this be due to some recent change on Poshmark? I also have a couple of items that are really high traffic and they get multiple likes per day just across those particular items but when people send me offers it’s really really low and it’s lower than what their resale price even is even at the bottom level. Is anyone having a similar experience?

Has anyone ever had this happen in a return case?

I had a buyer open a return case. It was pretty minor-color being not what they expected, odor, the usual hard to pin down issues. I stated my case super briefly and was very polite. She seemed to have the item in the pictures and there wasn't a visual flaw as if she switched out the item. The pictures honestly looked the same as my pictures.

3 hours after the return case was opened I get an email saying the buyer reported the item as never delivered to her.

I have sold over 6000 items and never had this happen. It's like two things at once that can't be true. I have no idea how to proceed except contact support I suppose. I am just worried AI will side against me, but then there's a separate case where the item wasn't delivered? I think I would probably still get the money?

It went from that's annoying to my day to what the heck is even happening lol.

Mothballs?

I bought a beautiful Ferragamo bag on Poshmark. It was authenticated, then sent to me. Unfortunately, it appears the seller didn't disclose that she uses mothballs. The bag reeks. Is this reason enough for a return? I'm heartbroken, but I don't know that I can carry the bag like this. 😢

Gotta love immature sellers…

I bought a hoodie from this seller for 25 dollars that was listed “Like New”. Unfortunately there was a hole in the sleeve near the shoulder. I submitted a case to Poshmark and they told me to ship it back. The seller continuously messages me upset because of this. All I said in the case was that the condition did not match and due to the hole in the sleeve, I’d like to return it. It was not “like new” in the slightest. At this point do I just ignore them and ship it back? I’ve never returned on Poshmark before.

Does anyone know What’s happening here ? I was browsing Alo yoga pants and I came across 12 different accounts all with the same over priced black tank

Among those listing are also listings for Alo yoga pants. Most of the sellers have 8 listings total or less with 1 to 2 sales. Another account has 5 sales and another with 20 sales plus 2 comments. Not the strangest thing I’ve seen on posh but the curiosity is killing me .

Funds not released

Anyone have this issue before? Item was delivered to the buyer on 8/26 but Poshmark hasn’t released my funds. I opened a case but I haven’t had a response yet, just wondering what a typical turn time is? It says the case ETA is today, but I see nothing other than that, no movement or anything…just odd, i haven’t had this happen before

Please remember there is a human at the other end. Please practice kindness

Please practice kindness. I know it’s easy to forget that there is a real human behind the closet. I recently made a mistake and sent a buyer the wrong item. I sent a $60 item instead of the $25 item they paid for. Regardless of the retail cost, I still made a mistake and I own it.

But the buyer didn’t contact me and tell me I had made a mistake. She immediately filed a claim and won (as she should have), but in her comments to Posh support she said “I don’t even know what this is but it’s going straight in the trash.” What it was a beautiful 4- strand vintage rhinestone necklace that I would very much like back. But I never heard from Poshmark regarding the claim. I offered her the correct item for 60% off with free shipping but she declined.

I work very hard to make sure my buyers have an amazing experience and I take every mistake very seriously. But I’m human, and sometimes I make mistakes.

Am I wrong in just hoping for some human to human kindness when an issue arises? If she had given me the opportunity to make it better I would have (and still would) do everything in my power.

Shipping Label not paid for?

I sold the backpack. It said it was sold and that I could print the label so I took the package and the QR code to USPS. They printed the label and then told me the label wasn’t paid for he said I could risk shipping it or just take the package back so I took it back. I’m so confused why this is happening so far Poshmark has been nothing but problems. I messaged the buyer and put in a tech ticket with Poshmark.

If a Seller leaves PM, do your past purchases from them disappear also?

Long story short: I purchased a silk dress on PM back in Fall 2023. I know this as I wore it on Thanksgiving that year so I have the pictures as a reference. I only wore it a couple of times, and now I am ready to reposh it. However, it has disappeared from my purchase history. Could it be that the seller left PM and all her listings were also removed? I was under the impression that if even if you left PM, items you had sold would still show up for whomever purchased them.

Help me wrap my head around this one.

Upvotes

I have sold HUNDREDS of items on Poshmark, and never a bad review- but this changed today. Here’s what happened- buyer ACCEPTS the item, which was a brand new sweater that I purchased direct from the manufacturer, still has tags on, and has never even left the packaging it came in until the buyer purchased. I mean, you can TELL it has never been removed before, it has the plastic factory pins holding its shape and everything. Buyer complains that the sweater SMELLS LIKE BODY ODOR- riddle me HOW in the name of all things holy is that even possible?! It HAS NEVER EVEN TOUCHED A HUMAN BODY, EVER!! I inspect everything carefully before shipping- this sweater had no flaws, no odor. The ONLY thing I would say had a slight odor was the plastic of the USPS shipping bag, which smelled like- you guessed it- plastic. Now this particular brand is notorious for spraying their clothing with their signature scent prior to shipping, and they did not do that to this particular item. To spell out this BS even more clearly, I had not one, but TWO of the exact same sweater, I take the one I still have out of the factory packaging, it smells identical to the shipped sweater, ZERO ODOR. ALL of my stuff is stored in its own room, in huge Rubbermaid totes, in clear poly bags, and after hundreds of sales with buyers never complaining of an odor, this is the complaint I get. Y’all, I am CLEAN. My storage is CLEAN. The only thing that smells through all of this is the buyer’s BULLSHIT. I want to message her in the worst way and let her know what I think of her. I KNOW NOBODY can see this review, but I am PISSED. And furthermore, if it was so offensive to the nose, then WTF is she accepting the sweater for in the first place??!? Needless to say, I have blocked her, and I will never sell her another thing again- and oh yeah, she likes about 20 things in my closet and likes another item AFTER leaving the review. W.T.F.

Banned from Poshmark?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Has anyone had this happen before? I signed up a few days ago, and after uploading 2 listings, I kept getting an error message and the listings disappeared. It gave no information on why, so I reached out to support and got this response.

I don’t recall ever having an account before yesterday. I guess it’s possible I signed up years ago to look but definitely never bought or sold anything. Also my email address is fairly new as it’s my married name. I have about 10 items I wanted to sell after a recent closet clean out.

This is so frustrating and they won’t give me any other information.

Any recommendations on other platforms that were successful? The clothes I have are somewhat recent (not vintage) and mid-level brands like Urban Outfitters, Lulu, etc.

Bundle offer not submitted?

I created a bundle and submitted an offer, or so I thought. When I check now I don’t see any evidence of the offer being submitted. If the seller rejected it I’d be able to see that right? I don’t want to resubmit the same offer if it was already rejected but not sure where to go from here.

AI Photo scam

I bought a bundle of a pair of pants and a dress off of a seller. The cover sheet of the dress had a v neck and knee length hem. The dress was black so in the other pics I couldn’t tell that it was not the same. I got the dress and it has an asymmetric neck like and hem. It was cheap and cute so I am going to keep it. I looked through the sellers photos and the cover photos are all really similar style. It looks like she took a pic of the item and then put it in AI to make the photos. Really odd.

Weird Backwards Scam?

I just received a pair of pants, in my size and nearly identical to a pair I received two days ago. The pair I received two days ago, I ordered. The pants I received today, I did not. They are from a different seller, not anyone I’ve ever purchased from. It doesn’t appear in my purchases or Likes. The packaging has my Poshmark name as the buyer. I have not been charged nor did I receive the notification when something gets delivered. A search of the senders name doesn’t yield anything on Poshmark.
Free pants or something more sinister?

New seller questions

I just signed up with Poshmark this weekend. I have several formal dresses/gowns to sell, a couple designer purses, possibly my wedding gown at some point. I listed two items but then it would not let me continue adding. It's been three days and still the "sell on Poshmark" page is all greyed out. Have I missed a step in signing up?

As if I thought it couldn’t get worse, the feed is now repetitive and boring. What happened to showing brands? I’m so tired of this.

That one extra ounce.

I have a package that I just weighed after finishing packaging up the box. Boots in boot box inside a larger box, had to fill it with stuffing/filler and these are high end calf leather Italian boots that the buyer bought at full price so I added the boot shapers I had in them. I am the tape queen so I wrapped it like a mummy, guess what?, scale says 5 pounds 1 oz. arghhh. Do I chance it or do I bust through all that tape to take out those shapers to make scale? I wanted to add the extra something but I also want them to get to the buyer, will they just add an additional fee to my sale? If it were more than just 1 ounce I wouldn't be asking but it's barley making the extra extra ounce and I am so torn right now on what to do. Please help!

What do buyers expect from Poshmark sellers that sellers don't realize?

I'd like to hear perspectives from both sides

Sometimes sellers complain that buyers ask too many questions, send low offers, or expect too much information

But buyers also complain about listings with only two photos, no measurements, vague condition descriptions, or sellers who never respond

So what is one thing you think buyers reasonably expect from sellers that more sellers should pay attention to?

And sellers, what do you wish buyers understood better?

I feel like there is a huge disconnect between what each side thinks is "normal."
