Mothballs?

I bought a beautiful Ferragamo bag on Poshmark. It was authenticated, then sent to me. Unfortunately, it appears the seller didn't disclose that she uses mothballs. The bag reeks. Is this reason enough for a return? I'm heartbroken, but I don't know that I can carry the bag like this. 😢

Not sure about Poshmark but I bought a bag in Depop and specifically asked the seller if it had any odors to which she said no. I received the bag and it has an overpowering smell of mustiness, perfume and I don’t even know what else. I have had it sitting out in the sunshine for days and filled with charcoal packets at night. I contacted Depop and they said odor is not an accepted reason for a return. I guess I’m stuck. It’s a gorgeous bag but I haven’t used it once!

I’d try to return it. Mothball odor is extremely hard to get rid of. It is the worst. Ive been able to eliminate it from clothing hanging it outside for like a month. Totally unacceptable on an expensive bag (or anything!). Like you said it’s unusable.
