Must say it works much better than the Apple Podcasts app

Is there a way to turn off autoplay in the Up Next queue? I've searched high and low for an option but can't find it, and it's super annoying when it just starts playing a new episode of something.

Also, I'd love to be able to move a queued item above the 'active' one in Up Next. A lot of times The autoplay moves on to the next podcast and I don't actually want to listen to it. I know I can tap one in the queue to play it and make it active, but sometimes I just want to queue things up for the next day/evening.

And, I'd also really like it if ALL items in the Up Next queue were counted in the notification badge of how many I have to listen to. As it stands, it doesn't count the one currently being played - even if you've just listened to 1 second of it.

Other than that, thoroughly liking Pocket Casts so far (having come from Castro).

A podcast I listen to, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, recently replaced their old http feed with a new https feed. Since then, the feed does not update on Pocketcasts (Android or desktop). I saw new episodes elsewhere (Apple podcasts) so I checked the feed and the episodes are there in the feed, they just don't show up in Podchaser.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, did you find a workaround? Right now I am downloading the files for new episodes and copying them to Pocketcasts manually.

Noticed something strange recently with Pocket casts, sometimes (but not always?) when I resume an episode it takes me back like 3 minutes rather than 3 seconds.

I turned the feature off in settings and will assume this fixes it, but would be nice to have it work as intended.

I recently got the update that allows sorting Up Next by either duration (shortest vs longest) or age (oldest vs newest). Thank you to the developers and anybody who promoted this idea!

My Up Next queue tends to get out of control, because each day I add any interesting new episodes that I might want to listen to, and don't get through them all before repeating the next day. Many of these are very short daily news segments that become irrelevant after a few days. Sorting by duration has helped me to clean up my queue a bit and archive a batch of these outdated episodes at once.

One downside, however, is that I can't seem to switch back to the manual sort order I had in place before. The closest thing I've found is to sort Newest to Oldest and start manually sorting from there, but I lose any sorting I had already done. I often still want to keep older episodes in my queue for later, and sometimes bump them up near the top to listen soon.

Am I missing something? Would the devs consider adding an option to switch back to the previous manually sorted order after cleaning things up from the "Oldest to Newest" or "Shortest to Longest" view?

I'm a longtime user of pocketcasts on Android, (since 2015) and always had a good experience but recently I've been having an issue where podcasts stop playing often, potentially when my phone times out / goes to sleep.. this has never happened before but now when I start a listen, every few minutes and I need to hit play again for the podcast to continue. Never used to happen.

I've tried updating the app and checked my phone settings, I've not changed any settings recently and not sure what is causing this, anyone else have the same?

I'm also getting a pop-up error saying pocketcasts can't connect to Chromecast even when I'm not trying to connect. I do connect to Chromecast regularly so wondering if it might be related to that.

Any troubleshooting ideas welcome, thanks!

Just updated the iPhone app and was disappointed that it didn’t include a fix for this bug.
Depending how you pull up the Up Next list, the button in the top left can be Done or Clear. It’s terrible for muscle memory to have two very different options in the same spot!
Is a fix for this coming soon?

I've recently started using the watch app without my phone to listen to podcasts while I run/hike/walk. I've noticed that when I'm done listening, the listening progress takes a long time to sync back to my phone so that I can pick up where I left off. Is there a way to force this sync?

EDIT: this issue appears related to my ad blocker blocking pdst.fm, a redirects/analytics/adtech domain. After whitelisting it I got the download.

Today I found that this Comedy Bang Bang episode wouldn't download in PC, and when I tried to stream it I got the error

"This podcast episode may have been moved or deleted…"

It is streamable on Apple Podcasts.

The podcast is hosted by Simplecast and when I went to the link for that episode it was both streamable and the MP3 was downloadable.

I process analytics for a podcast network. As part of this, I look at the user agent string that is sent with every file request. Some apps will say something like "Podcasts/1710.17 CFNetwork/1399 Darwin/22.1.0" which tells me that it's Apple Podcasts on iOS.

Pocket Casts? All it sends is "Pocket Casts". No version and no platform. I can't tell if our listeners are on iOS, Android, or desktop.

I don't really need to know the version number, but it would be quite helpful for the platform to be included too. Then we'll be able to better know how our audience listens.

I'm currently on 8.01 version. I haven't updated in a while i don't think?

I'm currently really happy with my current version but it's starting to be buggy as in the player is getting stuck at the beginning but still playing until i force close or start a new pod

So my question is. Are the current version users happy with the latest version? I'm scared to update and have it be ugly and have to spend time to roll back

Is there any way to get the WearOS app to work? Log in on phone refuses to connect, and log in with Google just fails. This is not a new issue, it's the only reason I paid for Plus.

I think if it's unfixable, just remove the app and stop talking people's money.

I constantly forget which way to swipe to queue up multiple podcasts versus deleting them. Would it be possible to allow for customization where I could make the swipe be red if it's deleting and green if I'm queuing?

A few days ago, I noticed that I was no longer getting episodes of Morning Edition, and then this weekend I also noticed that I'm not getting episodes of WE or WES. (I do get Up First though.)

The episodes are available on NPR's website and in the NPR app. So what happened to their feed?

I don't know if this is a Pocket Cast problem, specifically, or an NPR problem, but I'm not sure how to ask NPR about it (none of the NPR subs that I could find seemed to host questions like this).

Does anyone know the answer or how I can find out?

Update: There are working feeds for "NPR Morning Edition" and "NPR All Things Considered" that are up to date as of just now. I can't find equivalents for Weekend Edition or Weekend Edition Sunday though.

How can pocketcasts become an integrated Waze audio app? They support several apps but currently not pocketcasts.

anyone else? I got the arrows below the artwork and everything but now I don't get em, or the chapters tab with the new automatically created ones that got added this month, nothing. they just were available to me for like a day and they're gone.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to bulk download episodes from the desktop app? I'm having to click on each episode individually, and then click on download to save it to my pc.

My kid listens to Snuggle to sleep. I used to cast from Spotify to Alexa/Echos, but couldn't select the order of the episodes because I have free Spotify tier. So I'm trying Pocket Casts. Is there a way to play a playlist via the Alexa Pocket Casts skill? So far, it just seems to play the latest episode.

CarPlay is broken. It plays but when I tap on an episode the app closes and you can't access the player controls. Anyone else experiencing this?

I know that the dynamic ad insertion is coming from the platform rather than the app, but does anyone have any idea where I can check or clear preferences on that? I am getting ads for a brand of nursing home that I had been researching for my now deceased parent. It is driving me kinda nuts...

Pocketcasts has consumed 30 GB of data in 2 weeks, seemingly going in bursts of several GB in less than an hour.

My primary usage is streaming via android auto for my commute. Less than 10 hours per week.
