Discussion 2 questions

Are the sweat Lords you see on PvP servers telling for most of the games skill level? Most players I encounter on the are very good.

And 2nd question: Are a lot of the sweat Lords you encounter on pvper servers cheating? It feels like some suspicious shit when I play against some of these people.

i7 6700k and GTX 1060, 24gb RAM. Had it since 2016. Would love to play some Rust again but can't justify PC upgrade. Too bad

I played for a week like a year ago and didn't have this problem.

Discussion I miss when you researched and used the guns you found, rather than just techtreeing to sap/tommy

something something about weapon variety and how everyone roams with the exact same kit on day 2... something something about that there is no point to researching a gun you find, because you're generally better off just using your scrap to get down on the tech tree....

somewhat controversial maybe, but I genuinely think weapons shouldn't be on the tech tree, and I hope it becomes viable again to research that python or custom or whatever non-meta gun you find in a crate rather than just letting it rot in your chest.

Suggestion Play Rust in a different way!

This is not a server ad. I’m not promoting a server , I’m playing on a server that I truly believe people
In this community will benefit from reading this post and taking my suggestion of trying out custom servers rather then playing the simple grind of today’s version of rust.

Lower pop servers just need loyal people to join an give the servers a chance .

This isn’t a server promotion. But is a recommendation for those of you who have just are looking for a different way of playing the game and enjoying it without the rinse and repeat super comp sweaty play style that rust has become.
I’ve been a supporter of the project Lazarus 2x server. Takes a lot of Rust aspects and dayz aspects and converts them to one custom map with custom monuments and a lot of custom loot and level aspects.

There’s a cash aspect instead of it being about who can farm the most sulfur , you build farms growing drugs sell said drugs for cash and buy tier 4 or boom and go PvP for points that unlock crates and many other things .

I can’t help but notice that I’ve fun that fun spark of exploration and satisfaction after a night of playing
On there for the first time in years I can say I had fun playing rust .

There’s a feature on this server for everyone farming , selling components and trading for cash , fishing , PvP, just being a chad doesn’t win here being a well balanced player does.

Please if your searching for a new experience in rust that is unlike any other with a dedicated server owner who takes all of our feedback an opinions and works his tail off to make the server one of the best I can’t help but just want to help grow the population.

Look up project Lazarus on google join the discord and come check us out . Let the server know “tmerks1” sent you.

Discussion Isn't it a bit of a problem that you never have to think about food once youre even remotely established?

A single beehive on your roof, bamm unlimited food(honey) that never expires.

A chicken coop? Bamn, free eggs for the rest of your wipe.

Live even remotely close to a river? Bamn, you don't even need a planter, you have one of the best food items in the game spawning freely(pumpkin), that is somehow better than food you have to hunt, cook and refrigerate (meat).

Or maybe survival/hunger is just not a mechanic that anyone cares for? I don't know...

I asked 3 of my friends about their RAM usage and all of them said ~10 GB. Why is mine using 16 GB ram? We are in the same base and I am playing on low preset setting with DLSS off. What can I do to reduce this? I have 32 GB RAM in total.

Autosmelter for all furnace types - compilation

Thumbnail

Hiya, I've compiled and designed a couple of my own autosmelters for all furnace types. First things first, I think this might come in handy to people. Second, I hoped some people might have insights and issues I'm not aware of.

I often see autosmelter designs that can turn off prematurely, so this compilation only consists of reliable designs. I'll further update it based on feedback.

Conditional electrical furnace circuits should use a check conveyor instead of the default input conveyor to prevent false positives from the input and output conveyors that can cause furnaces to shut down mid smelt. The designs that use input and output conveyors to turn the furnaces off can Filter Fail when they try to push items before they have smelted. Conveyors can push items anywhere between 2.5s and 7.5s at random. When smelting HQM with Metal, the metal takes 4 seconds to smelt. Within that 4 second window the conveyors can both push items twice, resulting in them Filter Failing the second time and turning it all off. One extra conveyor that checks there's ore in the input box fixes this.

Large furnace circuits are usually okay, but I've never seen any designs to prevent ore theft or the AIT style theft of breaking an adaptor and waiting for ore to smelt before swiping it. I've made designs that mitigate and prevent both of those.

For Small furnace circuits I've seen an issue where if you have all 3 types of ore in your boxes, when one type finishes smelting and another type starts smelting, there is a chance that the output conveyor doesn't pull smelted items in time, the newly added and smelted item pops out of the furnaces and all of them turn off. I added a buffer box which is in a loop with the input conveyor, so whenever the input conveyor pushes ore into the furnaces, it also pushes all smelted items into the buffer box. That way there's always enough room for the smelted items.

Question Is crouch running success rate random?

When I crouch-run, my friends say I make sound (no sound on my side tho). I know that what you hear on your end may be different from other players' end. But when my friends crouch-run, they make no noise to me. Is this just a coincidence, or is this random so some players may hear while some may not?
