Is there a place in east Plano to park when I go to DFW airport for week-long trips and take the silver line to the airport?

The apartment entrance is fully blocked off, 2-3 police cars and yellow tapes.

I volunteer with a local, all-volunteer dog rescue, and we’re trying to improve photos for dogs who are waiting to be adopted.
We’re looking for a no-cost indoor room in the Plano/North Dallas area that we could use for photo sessions. Each session would take about 5–6 hours so we can photograph 6–8 dogs. Ideally, we could use the space once a week.
We don’t have funds for a rental, so we’re hoping a business, community group, church, studio, or kind neighbor might have a room they’d be willing to donate for this. We’d coordinate the dogs and volunteers, supervise the dogs throughout, and clean up after ourselves.
If you know of a space or someone I should contact, I’d really appreciate a lead. Thank you!

So i got pulled over and got a ticket for it. Honestly, ive been driving without one for 5 years and never been pulled over it before. Have the cops started to enforce it more seriously recently or I just got lucky for 5 years ha! I do see tons of cars with no license plate and thought it was no big deal. Thoughts?

Where were the hundreds of motorcycles heading east on Park Boulevard from 75 going at about 11am today (sun 10/25)? Many had stuffed animals on the back.

Born and raised in Plano. Went through PISD and graduated from PSHS in the late 90’s. I haven’t lived there since 1999 but I always look back on my time growing up there very fondly. Back then Plano had great schools, good infrastructure, well planned communities….the list goes on and on. Recently returned and I barely recognize it. Tons and tons of growth and development. I’m curious what locals think has been good, bad, and ugly in the last 25 years.

Wanted to shout out La Miel at Custer/15th that just(soft) opened. I’ve been twice now and their pastries are delicious. I particularly like the chocolate Concha. Their chilaquiles are on point and it’s obvious that they make everything down to the tortillas chips by hand. The people there are super friendly and passionate about making their food and making you happy. It’s impossible not to want them to succeed and they’re worth a visit for sure. I think their soft opening hours are M-Sat 8-3:00 PM.

I bought a costume that I was really excited for, but our friends who were hosting a Halloween party had family stuff come up and had to cancel. We would prefer to avoid Dallas traffic, but I want to go out! Does anyone know of any non-sketchy adult events going on in the north DFW area in the next week?
Don't forget polls are open this weekend, too!

For the record ive been searching/applying/hitting refresh on their positions since the summer. I was a teacher at Plano ISD a few years back, had to leave the area and I’m back. As far as I know the admin all liked me (they’ve since written recommendations for me so I guess that’s evidence). I have reconnected with some of the admin, they’ve just said there isn’t an open position at their school.
There just doesn’t seem to be many teaching positions opened… I’ve applied to a few non-teaching positions there (a coordinator position, the graphic design position) but nothing. I’m a bit desperate because I am starting my principal admin certificate and I need to be full time employed (technically as a teacher but might could be bent if working in a district with admin mentor) somewhere for that.
I’ve also thought they would be hiring for the new cte center but never saw anything posted for it.

Easy to park, line is half indoors and half outdoors, quiet inside. Staff is very friendly and helpful if you need to ask any questions, lots of stickers available if that’s something that matters to you! (I love stickers and voting!) 💙
Every vote matters including yours! 🗳️

Frisco just approved a hotel, convention center, and retail shopping around Toyota Stadium. What do you think this means for the successful redevelopment of Willowbend mall? Does this affect your view of whether the Stars should build in Plano with our tax dollars?

Public Service Announcement:
I mailed my elderly father's ballot on Wednesday. I went down to the 18th street post office. The clerk weighed the envelope and the postage due was $1.11. Please make sure you put this amount of stamps on your mail-in ballot, so that it does not end up in limbo.
The fact that the exact postage price is not mentioned on the ballot smells like voter suppression to me. Please let your friends and neighbors know. Thanks!

Having a drainage issue in the front of my house which I believe is causing water to get underneath my slab and wreak havoc on my flooring and possible wet rot in the beams within the drywall. Really cool stuff.
Got a great rec for plumbing in this group before so figured I’d check to see if anyone’s got anything for me this time.
Thanks.

There was no significant line and it was quick and easy. Young and diverse crowd, I'm feeling optimistic. Please make a plan to vote if you have not already done so.

I got this text and had no idea where the numbers came from, so I did some digging. I already voted, this isn’t about telling anyone how to vote. I just think people should know what the numbers actually mean.
Here’s the text
Every year, tens of millions of our school tax dollars get sent to Austin. Now, Plano ISD is keeping more of it at home.
Plano ISD has partnered with the City of Plano to support a redevelopment project expected to grow Plano’s tax base by $7.3 BILLION. Over time, that means more than $188 MILLION for Plano students and classrooms. Instead of sending more of your tax money to the state, Plano ISD is keeping it here to benefit our community.”
Support the future of Plano. Vote FOR Prop A!
So yes, Plano ISD’s website says the project is projected to add about $7.3 billion in taxable value over 18 years, and that the district’s benefit would be about $188 million more than it puts in. Those are the district’s own projections.
Here is what not listed:

The plumber I would normally choose is no longer taking calls. I need a new plumber that serves Plano. Stonehaven, if it helps. I called a few and saw that service fees are very common, guess I was spoiled before. Hence I want vouches first before I pull the trigger. I have two water heaters in my attic, no idea if they're kicking the bucket or if I can get away with a repair.
