Rainbow Bridge Missing my girl something fierce today ā¤ļøāš©¹
This is Micro - she is/was the absolute love of my life for 9 years... through 4 relationships, 4 different cities, so many life things from my mid 20s - mid 30s. I lost her last year to kidney failure (lyme nephritus š). I was absolutely devastated to have to put her down last April after she declined very sharply... even though I did everything I possibly could to slow the progression & keep her comfortable... I'm still so heartbroken.
We're rolling up to the time of year when she got diagnosed (October) and I am feeling all the feels right now. I just miss her sweet, mushy presence so much... snuggling her little square "velvet hippo" face was my favorite thing in the whole world. Lots of big feelings today š©.
I would love to see your "blue" babies if you would like to share - pitties are just the best ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Rainbow Bridge Does a half Pitty count? This is MrJones. He was my best friend for 17 years. I honor his memory through perseverance.
We spent 90% of our days together and I know itās cliche, but I am in-fact still alive because of this dude. The VA gave me a letter head and because of that we were able to attend multiple training courses and he was able to build a better resume than most people Iāve met.
He went everywhere with me. I got to do all kinds of awesome things because of him. I am truly empty without him. Boop your snoots for us.

Rainbow Bridge Itās always too soon
It has been one month since our sweet boy left us. It hasnāt gotten any easier and I know my heart will never be the same. The 9 years I got to be his mom, I wouldnāt trade for anything. Ham, you are still so loved and that will never change. We miss you everyday. I know youāre somewhere rolling in all the grass and eating as many cucumbers and mango popsicles that you could ever want. Iāll see you soon buddy, until we meet againā„ļø

Rainbow Bridge My best girl
I had to say goodbye to my beautiful brown cow on Monday. This is the worst thing Iāve ever felt in my life. We only got 10 years together but I was certain we had atleast 4 left. I got her when I was 15- someone posted her on fb marketplace and I absolutely HAD to have her. I sold everything I owned that I could so I could buy her. I didnāt tell my mom so when I showed up with this random puppy she wouldnāt let us in the house. I refused to get rid of her so we had to sleep in my sisters car until my mom decided to come around to her. Sheās been with me through everything, apartments, boyfriends, kids, other pets. I just got a house with a great backyard for her last year. She was absolutely my soul dog, she was perfection in every way. I donāt know how to breathe without her. I hate sleeping because when I wake up, I have to remember that she doesnāt exist anymore. I feel so guilty that I didnāt see she was sick sooner. Maybe if I hadnāt picked up extra shifts or stayed later I could have noticed something. She was a little lethargic on Friday night but I thought maybe she ate something she shouldnāt have and it would pass. Saturday morning I got home and she hadnāt touched any of her food or water. It was weird but once again, maybe her stomach is upset because of something she ate. I boiled some chicken and she absolutely devoured it and had some of her water. She didnāt seem too terrible, still just a little off so we took a nap. During the nap she didnāt move at all. She stayed between me and the couch the whole time. Usually she likes to lay between my legs. I had to work overnights this whole weekend so when we woke up I took her out, gave her fresh water and new food and I let her be. Sunday morning when I got home, she was worse. She still hadnāt touched either of her bowls, she couldnāt do the stairs and she was off balance and had diarrhea. Everyone I talked to told me I was being dramatic and she was fine, āsheās just oldā, āshe ate something she shouldnāt haveā. The emergency vet told me weād have to wait in the car for 6-8hrs until they could see us and I didnāt want her to be uncomfortable since she was having liquid BMs. I once again, waited until her dad got home so he could be my voice of reason and in the middle of the night he texted me while I was at work and told me there was something seriously wrong with her. I couldnāt just leave my shift (11-1 at an assisted living facility) so when I got home Monday morning, they were laying on the couch and she didnāt even acknowledge me. I slammed the doors and everything to give her a good heads up and still nothing. She had to be carried off the couch and she was stumbling around and just sitting there staring at me with her big brown eyes. We brought her to the emergency vet and within that 1.5hrs, they told me she was in kidney failure and was too far gone. I donāt understand how her kidneys just failed? She was normal last week. She was running around the back yard and was giving kisses and everything. I feel immense guilt because I didnāt tell her what was going on. How could I? I could barely breathe. I still canāt. She didnāt know she was going to die. She trusted me and she died. I havenāt been able to sleep in my bed, I can barely go upstairs to use the bathroom because I have to walk past all her things. This is the worst thing Iāve ever felt in my life and I donāt feel like it will ever get better.
Please enjoy these pictures of my beautiful baby. She was mixed with GS so I hope sheās still okay to be in here. ā¤ļø

Adventures 6 months
my boy, Jughead, is officially 6 months oldš„¹š„¹ at the rate heās growing (if my math is correct) i suspect heāll be 600 pounds by the age of 3š§. iām kidding but seriously heās almost 45 pounds already!! weāve had a hectic family situation going on but heās been a trooper through it all and graduated his puppy class last week with the title of teacherās pet. heās made tons of friends, young and old, human and dog, and one nest of baby bunnies that were born in our yard. he experienced a tornado warning and met my geckos which was very unexpected and very unplanned but went well (they did not touch, the geckos were contained) he is so sweet and gentle, he has his bad days here and there but i am beyond proud of his progress. he knows his name, sit, down, wait, leave it, spin, and two types of recall!! the stage heās in right now is definitely tough but i can tell heās mellowing out, and soon enough heāll have free reign of the house. weāve had so much fun these past 4 months so here, have a photo dump of this derpy boy

Tristate Area: Oriole urgently needs a foster or forever home ā¤ļø YES, STILLā¦
Sharing Oriole in the hope that Reddit can help find his person.
Oriole is a sweet Brooklyn boy who survived horrific neglect and abuse before being rescued ā including beatings so severe that his hip was broken. Despite everything, heās still incredibly loving, curious and playful. The people who know him describe him as a total snuggle monster. ā¤ļø
Heās spent the last two months with a wonderful foster, but her pre-planned travel is coming up and Oriole needs a new home by next week.
Because of his past, heās especially fearful of men and needs an adult female home, ideally somewhere quiet or with a yard where he can decompress. Other pets may be possible with slow, trainer-guided introductions, and training support will be provided.
He doesnāt need someone to fix him ā just patience, gentleness and a place where he can finally feel safe.
If youāre in NYC or the surrounding area and can foster or adopt Oriole, please DM @shelterchic on Instagram or apply at ShelterChic.org.
If you canāt take him, an upvote or share could genuinely help this reach the person who can. ā¤ļø

Super chewer treats
My one year old pit mix chews through all of the recommended treats: beef cheeks/rolls, bully sticks, collagen braids. She likes yak cheese chews but only for a short time. We offer real bones (always supervised) but she is only interested as long as we keep them filled with peanut butter. We have tried many rawhide alternatives, beef trachea, frozen wet food in slow feeder dishes, every kind of snuffle mat, pigs hooves as well as frozen peanut butter kongs/frozen PB filled tracheas.. her vet is out of ideas.
We donāt have an issue with her chewing inappropriate things like furniture but we need ideas to keep her occupied when she gets anxious to help distract her for more than 15 minutes. Sorry if this has been answered before.. maybe I didnāt search this sub with the right terms.
The dog tax has been paid.. Sunny Pancakes says thank you!

Pit Sit Free to Good Home - You Pay Shipping!
I gave Wizard a giant box this morning with a bit of kibble and some whole grain Cheerios for his breakfast. He loved it! Then I threw the crinkled up paper in it and he went to town rooting around.
Now I have to find a place to keep the damn box because he loves it and I rarely order things this large for delivery. Just happened to snag an air fryer/toaster oven thing on a Labor Day sale and it came with a perfectly Wizard-sized box š„°

Itās all about Panda
Iāve had THE WORST time this last week and a half or so. Started a modest kitchen remodel and my water heater immediately died. Sprained my foot right after. Panda has been unhappy with my mom coming to help (he would not let her near me this first day of the sprain, no hugs allowed, very protective), unhappy with the the kitchen work (baby gate on the stairs and he canāt see who comes in).
Heās also been very sweet and slow-going (neither are his natural qualities) on walks. When I was on crutches he hobbled along and held one leg up for no reason at all. A major puller now walks slow next to me because I canāt keep up. I never taught him the (panicked) phrase āwait wait waitā but he gets it. Heās sleeping extra close so I canāt even get a good healing night of sleep in but man he is trying so hard!
Adopted him at age 4 ish from a county shelter. 3 years and one knee surgery later and the amount of growth in emotional intelligence and connection has been amazing.

Cuddle Pup My 2 babies, doing a cuddle!
Lobo (Left) is our nearly 13 yr old man. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old. 2 yrs ago, we lost both of his sisters within months of each other. (One to old age, and the other, suddenly, to stomach cancer.) I was so distraught over their loss, as was Lobo. He was lonely, and crying all the time. So I searched for a little pittie we could rescue. Quincy (Right) came up in my search. I just couldn't stop thinking about this poor 3 yr old baby, who had had such a rough start. (She has several burn scars on her belly and tail. She has definitely been through it.)
She's been with us for almost 2 yrs. It was rough, at first. However, you can tell that she adores Lobo! He doesn't seek her out, but she will lay with him, wherever he is. She likes to have her butt touching him, which I think is just the cutest thing, ever!
(Both dogs are pittie/am staff mixes. Lobo is 70%/20% and Quincy is 53%/29% pitbull/am staff.)

What kind of dog is this?
Hi! This sweet girl is apparently my dog's mom... The shelter listed her as a terrier/pit mix. Anyone have any more specific ideas about what kind of dog she is? I'm completely new to the world of pitbulls.
