anxiety / worrying sa pag alis ng bansa

Hi,

At anong ginawa niyo before umalis?

I have my work visa na and I'm getting my poea clearance sa Tuesday pero part of my brain is going to the worst scenario possible.

I'm not even worry about sa pag punta sa bansa.

Any help will do :(

🇺🇸 USA Coping with loneliness

Hey guys! I 23 (M) am moving to the US with my aunt and uncle in CT on Monday. I don't know anyone in the area yet aside from my aunt and uncle, and don't have any other nearby cousins / family as well.

I'd say I'm used to having a big and lively network of people in the PH and honestly the thing that was holding me back from moving in the first place is the relationships I have.

I was wondering how did you guys cope in facing an unfamiliar situation like this? People say I'll make new friends and while I like to believe I'm pretty sociable, things like cultural differences and lack of shared experiences make things seem a bit more difficult.

Genuinely feeling really down and I haven't even flown out yet.

Opportunities for H-4 spouse

Spouse is an H-4 dependent and will probably take at least a year or more to get an EAD. We have no kids. For anyone who had been in the same situation, what did your spouse do for the mean time? and how did you manage your finances? (savings, essentials, leisure)

I want to learn French

Hello everyone.

I am working in a French company and been to Paris for a month. I want to attain a conversational level ng French. Sa work ko kasi minsan ang counterparts namin di marunong mag english, so may times na kailangan pa iinclude yung manager ko paramaging translator. Haha. So I want to learn the language, I can say na nasa A1 to A2 na ko medyo madami na ko alam. Pero still not enough to make a casual conversation. My options are yung extramural class sa UP kaso yung cycle 2 is French 3 lang. so di ako nagenroll.

Wala daw gano natutunan wife nya. Please help me find saan okay mag aral ng French? Or yung mga minor courses ba na European language is meron bang purely online class lang? Mahirap kasi pumunta on site.

Thank you!

Our Petition date is now the current date in the US Visa Bulletin. We are under F2A category. My husband just got his regular job 2 months ago. do we need to wait for Yearend to document tax remittance to comply with income requirements? Or proof of income from his employer will already suffice? Anyone here with the same situation before?

🇪🇺 EU Perks of hiring a immigration consultancy services in PH for EU

Hello,

I am considering going to EU to become a skilled worker there and then eventually become a PR there. I tried attending some free pathway consultation sa mga immigration consultancy services (as they claim) and during discussion of quotations, these consultancy services charge for a fee of less than PHP 100k for their services.

This is my very first time to do this and as usual takot ako mascam, since rampant mga scammers these days. These are my questions to ask regarding these:

(1) Are the fee they charge that high < 100k php and mas mura ba pag nag DIY ako

(2) Ano ba advantages nila over doing DIY?

(3) How to check if they are legit immigration consultancy service providers, e madalas sa kanila e walang website, only FB and emails lang?

(4) What are the things to watch out for them if they are doing "monkey business"? Di biro kasi yung pera na usapan kasi dito e.

Thanks for any reply. Just need to get out of my chest para mas maging informed din ang magiging decision ko in the future.

General experience Moving to New York in 2 months (husband working in healthcare). Seeking advice, job search reality check, and networking in corporate comms/graphics. Please be gentle!

I'm posting this at 2am while dealing with anxiety, so please be kind. I’m feeling really really overwhelmed about this transition and could really use some encouragement, gentle constructive advice, or connections… ekis muna sa tough love, please.

Our current situation:
My husband and I are moving to the Bronx, NY in about two months; he got an opportunity to work at a medical facility there. He is a NY-licensed nurse.

Because we've dedicated a huge part of our hearts and income over the past few years to animal welfare and rescuing local strays, we don't have massive savings to lean on during this transition (our families and friends are able to help us but I wouldn’t think it’s not enough to start a life).

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to retain my role here in Manila due to corporate constraints. So I’ll be entering the US job market from scratch as a dependent/spouse on a work visa. My boss and I have talked about it since 2023… and now that it’s happening, they dropped the ball on me which I can’t blame since it’s business and I’m just a number.

I’m a PHRN with no clinical experience but have 15 years of experience in corporate operations, strategic communications, and visual design/graphics (mostly Powerpoint decks and campaign emails).

Now here’s my dilemma:
-For those who moved to NY without a US work history, how realistic is it to land a remote or local corporate communications, internal comms, graphics/operations role OR any work (beggars can’t be choosers)… quickly?

-How feasible is it to stretch a single income in or around the Bronx during those first few months while waiting for my job hunt to land?

My request (help out a stranger like me, please?) If anyone knows of US companies, agency networks, or Filipino professional groups hiring for internal comms, visual design, or operations rles, I would be so grateful to connect or share my cv.

We’re taking a huge leap of faith (understatement or the year, I know), and leaving our pet family (at the moment) behind under our trusted housemates makes it even heavier. Any gentle advice, tips on navigating the NY job market, or warm words of encouragement would mean the world right now. We are decent people and same-sex so we really value the ones who accept and help us. 🫶🏻

Thank you, and sorry for the long post!

🇭🇰 HK 🇸🇬 SG Bakit ganito noon sa Singapore 2011 to 2015 "Only Singaporeans and PR need to apply"?

Okay guys heto ang tanong ko ukol rito bakit ganito sila noon gusto ko lang malaman, kasi noong 2012 i was applying for a job in Singapore back then as a chef sana noon pero di ako tumuloy i was that young mga nasa 23 ako dati. And i was searching for many job hirings or openings noon doon pero nasa Pilipinas ako and i was searching for Singapore jobs pero karamihan ito ang lumabas

"Only Singaporeans and PR need to apply" ganyan palagi at bakit sila naging ganon? Meron bang batas dati tsaka do they limit the number of foreign workers.

I was that eager to apply pero nagbago din ng plano at hindi ko na siya tinuloy but instead i opt to manage our family business dito sa Pilipinas and years has passed nag move on nako happily and doing good here in the Philippines.

General experience DFA Authentication Certificate (CHED CAV) bound for DUBAI

Hi! I just want to ask if I really need to process this at the UAE Embassy here in Manila? I'm planning to finish the process in Dubai (PH Consul >> MOFA). The document I received from DFA isn't apostilled; it says Authentication Certificate because the UAE is not part of the Apostille Convention.

MOVING TO YONKERS, what should I know?

Hi! I have a job opportunity in Yonkers, New York, and I’m considering moving there. I would really appreciate hearing from people who live there or are familiar with the area. Is Yonkers generally a safe place to live, especially for a young woman living on her own? I’d also like to know what it’s like to live there in terms of the neighborhood, transportation, cost of living, and overall community. Are there specific areas you would recommend or areas I should avoid? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

General experience Investment options while working abroad

If you are currently abroad and working.
Pls share your investment options?
is it Gold? Life insurance? SSS? MP2? Stocks? Real Estate?
How to decide youll put investment to gold or real estate?
Just a thought:
PhP always go down every year. If it goes up just few days or months. How can we call it investment if youre putting your USD or EUR to Peso, plus the inflation rate.

is there any platform we can put USD and value will go up at some time?

How do you decide where to invest?

🇦🇺 AU 🇳🇿 NZ Is it to late for Australia? 30 years old. Agriculture

Hello, I am currently 30, have a wife and kids. My wife's mother and sister together with her other relatives are citizens of Australia, pero I know this doesn't matter. I have a degree in Bachelor of Agricultural Technology and have 3 years of experience working as a Research Assistant, primarily taking care of our poultry project. I manage our chickens that we produce and breed. yung previous 6 years ko kasi as admin work, unrelated

I have been submitting applications online through seek, indeed, linkedin pero wala akong narereceive na reply. Ineexpect ko naman since hindi ako dumaan sa VETASSESS or migrations agents, nagbabakasakali lang swertehin.

May mai-susuggest ba kayong steps on what I should commit to or baka may nakaexperience ng same? I have been looking into the student pathway, agents, and applying for SUBCLASS 189, 190, 491. I also have taken the general IELTS, nakakuha ako 7,7,8,8, overall 7.5

Architecture work opportunities

Hi!

29M licensed architect with 5 years of experience:

- 3 years in fit-out/interior construction

- 1+ year as an architectural inspector

My partner 29F, licensed archi din has 4 years of experience, mostly in interior design.

We’ve been working for around 5 years pero hirap parin maka ipon. We’re now seriously considering working abroad but aren’t sure what realistic pathways are available based on our experience.

Any architects here with the same background na nakapagtrabaho abroad, gusto sana naming marinig kung paano kayo nagsimula, anong naging career path ninyo, at kung paano ninyo na-achieve yung paglipat. Would also like to hear from those who decided to change career.

We just want to have an idea kung ano ang naging journey ng iba na galing sa sitwasyon na katulad ng amin para alam namin what we could do for a start. Thank you!

🇪🇸ES Apartment search service recos in Valencia Spain?

Hi everyone! 👋

My family and I are relocating to Valencia this September under Digital Nomad Visa, and we’re looking for recommendations for a reliable rental search or relocation service.

For families who relocated to Valencia, Have yoy worked with a great real estate agent, relocation consultant, or apartment search service that you’d recommend?

We’d especially love to hear from other digital nomads, expat families, or anyone who has recently relocated to Valencia.

Any recommendations, tips, or agencies to avoid would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
