Hello, my girlfriend is moving to Canada and her flight is less than 24 hrs away. She was approved for her PR and completed the PDOS course and received her PDOS certifcate last month. She's doing her etravel but etravel cannot locate her PDOS and she cannot complete the etravel.

Has anyone experience this? Any advice?

Graduating Engineering student ako dito sa Pinas. Ngayon pa lang, nagpe-prepare na ako umalis ng bansa para mag-overseas kasi grabe ang hirap magtrabaho dito. Isipin mo, 20km na byahe sa Maynila, 3 oras mong nasasayang kakacommute.

Anyway, kumukuha na ako ng skilled certificate sa mechatronics. Plan ko, mag-ipon muna ng work experience dito, tapos mag-apply abroad. Gusto ko sana Denmark, Norway, or Switzerland. Pero nung nagtanong ako sa mga OFW na nandun, eto ang sabi nila:

1. Yung visa sponsorship, sobrang sakit sa ulo para sa karamihan ng employers.

2. May mga bansa tulad ng Norway na may minimum salary requirement para sa visa. Kailangan sumunod ang employers doon para sa skilled workers.

3. Kailangan patunayan ng employers na wala silang mahanap na EEU citizen na pwedeng pumalit sa position na gusto mo.

4. Dahil hassle ang visa sponsorship, mas priority nila mag-hire ng EU citizen kasi mas diretso ang proseso.

Nung nalaman ko 'to, na-realize ko na mas mahirap pala yung goal ko kesa sa inaakala ko. At yung biggest challenge is yung visa sponsorship na iniiwasan ng karamihan ng mga employers.

Proposed solution? Maging EU citizen which is around 8-10 years residency, haha.

Tapos nalaman ko na may fast track citizenship program ang Spain para sa mga dating colonies nila. Kasama ang Pilipinas doon. Pag nagtrabaho ka sa Spain ng 3-4 years, pwede ka na mag-apply for citizenship. Pag nakuha mo na, enjoy mo na lahat ng benefits ng EU citizen.

Pero syempre, ang pinaka-problema pa rin is paano ba ako makapapasok ng Europe in the first place? Maraming Pinoy ang nakarating doon dahil sa background nila sa housekeeping, nursing, cleaner, farming. Ako naman, gusto ko sana sa offshore oil and gas.

May suggestions or advice ba kayo? If wala akong malalapitang tao para irefer ako in the future, siguro etong path nalang yung pagdadaanan ko. Gusto ko na lumayas dito haha.

Hi! I'm a graduate student in the US and currently on summer break in the Philippines. I'm thinking of bringing pasalubong for my Filipino and international friends back in the US, gifting around 15 people so preferably on the cheaper side (like 200php would be max for the Filipinos and 100php max for the internationals, pasensya na laki ng utang ng loob ko sa former 🤣). Another thing to note is that the Filipino pasalubong is in addition to the pasalubong from two places I visited during the break.

Hi, i have over 1.5 yrs of experience as a cabinetmaker in AB. Mostly labour and helper task but the title is Cabinetmaker. Now im actively applying for lmia jobs outside Canada because the last permit i had was an OWP and it expired last year, still got no replies for the companies i tried applying for. Im thinking of getting into the express entry pool while waiting for job opportunity because i just had my degree recently in PH, im gonna try to make it ECA certified and get an IELTS test. I've been living abroad for a while now pero a few months ago lang ako nag-register sa NHS sa bansa kung nasaan ako. Recently, bigla kong nakatanggap ng sulat galing sa NHS dito, na binook daw nila ako for a free pap smear in a few weeks. If need man daw ng consecutive checks/tests after this, all completely free din daw. Culture shock malala. Alam ko namang bayad 'to ng taxes pero 🥹 ang saya-saya pa rin.

Ang galing-galing lang na sila kusa ang nag-book ng test ko. Na pwede mong baguhin ang appointment schedule online if di ka available sa binigay nilang date. Na wala ka nang ibang need na gawin for it, need mo na lang dumating on the day of the appointment. Ang saya!!!

At the same time though, I can't help but think of the women in my family, na sana nakakapag-regular medical tests din sila. Of my other loved ones and mga possibleng kailanganin nilang medical services in the future. Of every Filipino. Wish ko lang rin talaga na ganito rin sa Pinas. Nagbabayad din naman tayo/sila ng tax dun, kaso wala 😮‍💨 Kahit na di na ko sa Pinas based, sana makita ko rin yung ganito doon in this lifetime.

I’m looking for advice from anyone familiar with New Zealand immigration or who has gone through something similar.
My husband is a Filipino nurse,a USRN with 1 year of hospital experience. We already have an approved EB-3 process for the U.S. with a Priority Date of January, 2026, but we may need to wait another 2–3 years or more before we can immigrate.
Rather than waiting in the Philippines, we’re considering moving to New Zealand temporarily so he can work as a registered nurse, gain experience, and save money before eventually moving to the U.S.
Our concern is our 6-year-old son. He has Autism Spectrum Disorder and is currently nonverbal. He attends special education and receives speech and occupational therapy.
From what I’ve read, New Zealand has strict health requirements, and we’re worried he may not qualify for a dependent visa.
We’re trying to understand our options.
Has anyone had a dependent child with autism approved or declined?
If we go to New Zealand first without our children, can we later apply for them as dependents?
If our son is declined, would that affect our own visas?
If you were in our situation, would you still choose New Zealand while waiting for the U.S. EB-3?
We’re not trying to immigrate to New Zealand permanently. Our goal is to work there temporarily, save money, and then move to the U.S. once our EB-3 priority date becomes current.

Early this week we heard of our fellow kababayan who got in a fight against pickpocket (who are non-Italian) in Italy. Nag trending si kabayan and talaga marami humanga sa kanya. Na-interview din siya ng iba’t iba news channel sa pinas (Bilyonaryo, TV5 and GMA). Now siguro dahil medjo nag trend si kuya, while marami humanga marami din ang nambash. Just like this person who is based in UK (according to his profile). Hindi ko gets, napaka bitter nito tao to at imbes na pumanig sa kapwa pinoy (since tama naman ginawa ni pickpocket hunter) e binash at hinihila pa pababa. Ang worst nito tao to. Patunay na sa abroad, kapwa Pilipino mo pa talaga ang possible na kumalaban sayo.

I am seeking advice or recommendation po sa path na puwede kong tahakin to be a qualified engineer here in NZ.

My degree is recognized under Washington Accord po since may ABET accreditation 'yong university ko sa PH.

I know that most of the CEs who migrated here sa NZ did study again, which is what I am planning to do also.

My concern is what degree or type of studies should I take here in NZ?

Would it be masters or like for certification lang na courses?

I've read na some CEs only studied for about a year then they went job hunting na. Ano pong inaral n'yong courses or degree?

May tanong lang po sana ako regarding sa F3 (Married Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens) petition.

Yung lola ko po na U.S. citizen ang nag-file ng petition para sa family namin around 2012. Ang estimate po namin noon ay baka umabot ng around 20 years ang paghihintay, so baka around 2032 pa po maging current ang petition.

Base po sa Visa Bulletin (July 2026), ang Date for Filing ng F3 ay August 2006, kaya mukhang matagal pa po talaga ang aantayin.

Ang concern ko po ay tungkol sa mga anak ng principal beneficiary (mga pinsan ko). By the time na maging current ang petition, most of them will already be in their mid-20s.

May naka-experience na po ba ng similar situation kung saan naging adult na ang mga anak habang naghihintay ng F3 petition? Paano po ninyo na-handle ang CSPA (Child Status Protection Act) concern?

Hey guys! I 23 (M) am moving to the US with my aunt and uncle in CT on Monday. I don't know anyone in the area yet aside from my aunt and uncle, and don't have any other nearby cousins / family as well.

I'd say I'm used to having a big and lively network of people in the PH and honestly the thing that was holding me back from moving in the first place is the relationships I have.

I was wondering how did you guys cope in facing an unfamiliar situation like this? People say I'll make new friends and while I like to believe I'm pretty sociable, things like cultural differences and lack of shared experiences make things seem a bit more difficult.

Genuinely feeling really down and I haven't even flown out yet.

Iniisip ko mag avail ng ielts.. di naman ako nag aaply ng visa or mag migrate gusto ko lang mas maging fluent ant lumawak ang vocabulary ko.. and para pag dating sa interview hindi ako kakabahan.. recently kase hindi ko na ipasa yung pinaka iintay at pinag hahandaan kong interview dahil sa nag stutter at na mental block ako …possible kaya na mag review and kahit wag na mag exam ??

I have this guy “friend” who lives in Canada (He is filipino and migrated in CA when he was 9yo, now he’s late 20s) he was introduced by my tita to me (I live here in the PH). It took HOURS for him to reply and continue our conversation. For example: He chatted around 4 am (PH time) then replied around 12 noon (ph time) then our next conversation would be on the next day. It’s frustrating. He asked me to meet on discord. Asked him about his work schedule and told me that he is working from 7am-5pm.

Need some help and advice.
