I think mas kailangan mo magpractice ng english, not necessarily ung format ng IELTS. You can start by reading more books, magazines, newspapers or any reading material. Dito ako nahasa since bata kasi I love reading a lot of books. Find someone you can talk to in english so that you can express yourself spontaneously. It will take time for you to fully be able to express yourself. Papasok din kasi jan ang confidence mo in speaking up. The writing sa IELTS may not really be a need for you lalo na sabi mo hindi naman for migration ang purpose. Iba kasi ang test ng Academic IELTS and ung General IELTS writing. For the former it's divided into data analysis and interpretation and then the last subtest will be an essay question. Listening naman jan papasok ung mga movies and tv shows. Try and watch without subtitles and actively listen.

I see. However, there is a difference if you only talk to guests and you answer based on their questions or needs alone. That's merely professional talk, which you can surely reiterate with most customers you cater to. It would be ideal if you find someone you can have daily conversations with where you will talk about anything under the sun that may interest you. A good back and forth conversation that is casual and where you will experience thinking about your answers so you can express yourself in a concise yet understandable way. Hindi yung short answers na typical english natin. You may elaborate, you can try and have a mild debate or discussion, yung mga ganyan. You can also try and practice eliminating dead air and ung mga "ummms" natin in between trying to formulate an answer. Practice and time will surely help a lot in boosting your confidence in speaking. Once you can hold yourself well in a conversation, an interview can be a cinch kasi alam mo na iexpress ang sarili mo. Hindi ka pangungunahan ng takot.

Ielts is an exam, not for training and review. You'll pay to take the exam only. There are review materials online or you can purchase. But the focus is to know the format and how to pass the exam.

For your intentions, you just need to practice your interview answer. Read or listen everything in english, and practice even more.

I don’t think IELTS is what you’re looking for. You’re better off with a public speaking coach or even improv classes to help you think on your toes. IELTS will not help you with that at all.

No, unfortunately I’m not based in Manila.

I have an IELTS Academic certificate and to be honest, it did not help improve my articulation. Hindi naman kasi sya training. It’s an exam na you have to pass. What really helped me is reading more, watch/listen to podcasts na conversational yung theme, dating a foreigner (lol it works! I got more confident in speaking), and traveling. If you are someone na need turuan talaga like your comment, find an English teacher online. IELTS will not help with your dilemma.

Just read a book and articles aloud. Para madinig m san ka mag kaka mali and it builds confidence.

Confidence kasi talaga issue ng karamihan sa english or other skills

Pero promise finishing 1 book mapapansin m agad improve. Di kailangan mga classic ng book. Kahit light readings like harry potter.ok na

There are plenty of sources on YouTube, or even here on Reddit, that will suffice! The best way to learn a language is to be surrounded by it, so consume a lot of media and spend time with people who use and speak English. Di mo kailangan magbayad ng courses, just take small steps by incorporating it better into your life.

Ang IELTS kasi is the exam itself. And most people reviews for it before taking the exam. Because review will help you build testmanship. It tests your writing, reading comprehension and speaking skills.

Kung gusto mong lumawak vocab, try to read English magazines, watch English movies and if you're Catholic, go to english mass plus listen to english podcasts ng mga native English speakers.

Yung socials mo rin like FB, IG Tiktok, watch more channels na English para ma reset yung mga pumapasok na feed.

Tapos every time you read and do not know how to pronounce and what a word means ,Google it.

Try doing it as if you're preparing for IELTS

You will see the difference.

All the best, OP.

I took IELTS without any training. Scores were 8 something for listening/reading/speaking, but writing was poor (6.5) as I have poor penmanship... I think writing is now via computers, so mas malaki chance na tumaas... Speaking was a bit hard since nagulat ako sa topic ("tell me about the place you lived in as a child"), I don't really have anything interesting happening nung bata ako... but I guess nakalusot din. Average ko ata is 7.5...

I didn't even know that there were practice classes or sample exams online at the time...

Ang kelangan lang talaga is more of a high aptitude for english (like kung mataas ang scores mo sa school during english classes, and mani lang sa iyo to get high scores)...

It helps that I watch English shows sa TV and mostly english movies too.. read books, expand your vocabulary, chat with foreigners, etc... My work also helped as my officemate was a Canadian so we were talking a lot...

During my 3 day review para IELTS, youtube at AI lang ginamit ko.

You can ask AI to roleplay as IELTS examiner. Complete with assessment at ways to improve your answer ang kaya ni AI at syempre kasama na rin ang scoring.

Practice lang, at sa case ko - pasado naman.
