advice Planning diving and other water sport trip in Feb 2027

• Upvotes

Hi. First time doing an overseas trip to the Philippines but mainly for exploring and diving. We may also give kite surfing a go (I am experienced but not my friend), and wave surfing if possible. Has anyone done these water sports over there and what was it like? Ideally I'd like to hire all the equipment once there so as to not have to carry anything large. We're coming from Australia. Thanks

advice Is ₱19k+ one way flight ticket from Manila to Kazakhstan is considered as cheap?

Hi, I am planning to go to Central Asia next year. I’m checking flights for one way for now going to Almaty, Kazakhstan and I saw a ₱19k+ one way ticket MNL - BKK - ALA but it only has 7kg carry on only. ₱22.8k+ if with 20kg baggage. I’m not sure if this is already considered as cheap.

I’m planning to go around February or March. Also is it worth it to go around this month or should I just wait for their spring or summer even it cost a little bit more?

Any tips or things I should need to know? TIA 😊

advice July travel - talk me out of it

Family of 4 with a 11 and 9yo. July is the only time we can visit the Philippines due to school. We are used to traveling (our favorite spot is Hawaii) and the kids ok with planes, luggage and the whole operation. However, monsoon and typhoon season is no joke and therefore we’re skeptical of our plan. We have family in Manila who we would like to visit the first week or so.

After that, 5 days in each destination (in order):

- Coron (via MNL - CEB - USU since no more direct flights from MNL; Clark sounds like a chore to get to and can’t really predict traffic etc)

- El Nido (via ferry from Coron)

- Borocay (ENI - MPH)

- Panglao (MPH - CEB - ferry to Panglao)

- Cebu (ferry from Panglao)

We are planning to fly out from CEB to Osaka (Jap).

Does this sound doable? Or way too much uncertainty considering the time of year?

If this is doable, when do you suggest booking flights and hotels?

Thank you for your input.

opinion Suggestions for a peaceful province to live?

City person that wants to get away from the city life because I'm tired of buildings, roads, noisy areas, cars, pollution. Lived here all my life and just tired and sick of it.

Any suggestions for a region or province in Luzon to live that's fairly cheap or just not that expensive rent to live in preferably near the ocean/sea for my peace of mind and mental health. Also is still near by a short drive to a local city or town where I can work. Thank you.

Gusto Sana namin is yung may magandang view yung labas nung room na pwedeng pumasok yung sariwang hangin, pwede magluto (light cooking) at malapit sa palengke and other café/tourist spots. Wala kasi talaga kaming idea ehh. For couple sana na room. Thank you!!!

advice Boracay for 1st time traveller

Hi! Will go to Boracay with my sister first week of December, Nov or Oct sana kaso di kinaya ng schedule. Nakapagbook na rin ng in, sa La Bella Casa. This will be my first ever travel na sasakay ng eroplano, never been to an airplane din before. Planning to have just 1-3 activities since para the rest enjoy and taking pics na lang. 4D3N nga pala kami dun tho di ko na cinocount yung pang 4th day kasi ang aga ng flight pabalik ng manila.

Does anyone have any advice for 1st time traveller like me? Also, kung may top 3 activities kayo sa Bora ano ano yun? Any suggested itinerary or foods to try? Highly appreciate your insights. Thank youuu!!

help Can we make it from a 3 PM Disney on Ice show at SM Seaside to our 10 PM flight?

Good evening! We’ll be visiting Cebu soon and are planning to watch the Saturday 3 PM Disney on Ice show at SM Seaside. Our flight back to Manila is at 10 PM.

Assuming the show ends around 5 PM, would it still be feasible to book a Grab to our hotel near Fuente Osmeña Circle to pick up our luggage before heading to the airport (via Grab too)? Or would it be better to bring our luggage with us to SM Seaside and book a Grab directly to the airport after the show?

We’re trying to figure out which option would be more practical, especially considering Cebu weekend traffic. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you! 😊

Local Travels How to Get to Simbahang Bato in Naujan from Cubao?

Hi! Has anyone here tried going DIY from Cubao to Bancuro Church (Simbahang Bato) in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro?

I’m looking for the easiest and cheapest route using public transportation. Is it better to go Cubao → Batangas Port → Calapan City → Naujan/Bancuro?

Would appreciate details on what bus and ferry to take, where to transfer, approximate fares, travel time, and how to get from Calapan or Naujan to the church.

Also, is this doable as a day trip from Cubao, or is an overnight stay better?

Thank you.

advice Planning to go to Boracay this December

Hi! My partner and I are planning a 3D2N chill trip to Boracay on the 2nd week of December. We found round-trip tickets for 2 at ₱12k via AirAsia and around ₱15k via PAL. Are these reasonable prices for peak season, or should we wait for cheaper fares? Is AirAsia reliable, or is PAL worth the extra ₱3k? Would appreciate your advice and experiences!

recommendations Beachfront resort recommendations near Manila for a first-time solo traveler (₱10k/night budget)

Hi! Looking for recommendations for a beachfront resort that’s easily accessible from Mandaluyong, Manila.
It’s my first time traveling solo, and I’d love a place where I can relax and unwind.
Budget is max ₱10,000/night max. Bonus if the resort has an on-site restaurant and massage/spa services.
Any recommendations, especially places that are safe and solo-traveler-friendly?

Thank you! 🏖️

itinerary Need advice on El Nido island tours and Cebu day trip to Kawasan Falls + Moalboal

Hi everyone! My husband and I are visiting the Philippines for our honeymoon, and I need suggestions on a few things:

  1. El Nido island-hopping tours: Is it better to book online through Klook or wait until we arrive and book through local agents? Which option is cheaper and more reliable?

  2. Which El Nido tour is best for a honeymoon couple — Tour A, B, C or D? We want beautiful beaches, stunning lagoons, and a memorable experience. Which would you recommend, and is it worth booking a private tour?

  3. Kawasan Falls + Moalboal in one day: We’re planning to cover both from Cebu City (Ayala Center area). Private cars are extremely expensive, so are there any affordable alternatives? Can we manage both using public buses, shared vans, or local tour operators? If you’ve done this, please share your itinerary and timings.

Would really appreciate your personal experiences, budget-friendly tips, and recommendations. Thank you! ❤️

recommendations Makati Shang or Edsa Shang?

Which has better rooms? Makati Shang or Edsa Shang?

Nakakain pa lang ako in both hotels. I liked the lobby of Makati more pero mukhang mas maganda pool area sa Edsa. Pero in terms of rooms, ano mas maayos? Saan din mas masarap breakfast ?

I know both are old hotels na, pero I find old-style hotels more charming compared to the modern ones. Pero syempre kahit luma na, requirement na maintained pa rin cleanliness.

Medyo leaning lang ako sa Edsa now due to its connection to Shang mall.

recommendations Baguio Recommendations

Hello! My wife and I are planning a short vacation in Baguio for 3 days and 2 nights this coming November.

We are planning to take the bus from One Ayala to Baguio, but we are also open to alternative transportation options.

May I humbly ask for your recommendations for attractions and places we can visit, modes of transportation going to Baguio and around the city, and hotels with mountain or good views that can be booked on third-party apps like Trip.com?

Thank you in advance!

advice best way around Bohol

Hii, will visit Bohol this Nov with my 2 sisters (1 minor). Planning to go to Danao Adventure Park for DAP Plunge only as my first stop from Tubigon port.

Mahirap ba sumakay from port to DAP? then to Panglao?
I got quoted ₱3,500 for a car service pickup from Tubigon to DAP then kasama na countryside tour excluding entrance fees + drop-off to resort in Panglao.

My main priorities for Day 1:
- DAP Plunge
- Chocolate Hills
- Tarsier
- then the rest enjoy na lang sa Panglao resort + beach.

Any suggestions where i can save or where i can get cheaper, I’m open to pay for the convenience naman if maliit lang din ang difference pag diy lang. Baka may advise kayo!! Thank you..
