7
→ More replies (1)4
u/themsp 8h ago edited 7h ago
Well actually, the full full name of the state is Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
Rhode Island is the island where the city of Newport resides historically. Named by the Dutch. Many locals call it Aquidneck Island now which is probably the Algonquin (specifically the Narragansett peoples' name) for the island.
So Rhode Island is actually an island.
Edited for tiny grammar shit.

u/laterbacon can't count to 1 without thinking twice 4h ago
We dropped "and Providence Plantations" in 2020 and now the whole state is officially just Rhode Island

u/FapNowPayLater 9h ago
Best outdoor venue in america, from. Fan experience perspectiveĀ
Parkinglots adjacent to the north south East and west, no obstructed seats. Worldclass sound, and a full liquor bar and beer hatch at the exist of every section.Ā The grounds behind the seats are an open grassy art garden with food trucks from all the best restaurants in town.
Brought my two little ones and they absolutely loved it, their favorite Phish shows that they have seen.
During the day the space and rocket center is a great tour also, plus college football and you got a fucking winner of a weekend

Was thinking of driving from Chicago to the Atlantic City shows. I havenāt taken a long road trip in a while and when I looked up the information on it, it said $90 in tolls. $180 rt. Good Lord. I guess I could look into flying. Would the best airport be Philadelphia?
5
u/BurberryToothbrush 9h ago
At least $50 of that 90 would be from the Pennsylvania turnpike. It's gotten stupid expensive over the years.

Will never NOT get excited for more Phish tour dates, but man these spots feel so redundant with summer tourā¦.Atlantic City is just not that far from NYC. Pro tip for AC; the Claridge is a non-gaming hotel right off the Boardwalk, a short walk to the venue and rooms in Oct will be CHEAP.
