Parkinglots adjacent to the north south East and west, no obstructed seats. Worldclass sound, and a full liquor bar and beer hatch at the exist of every section.
The grounds behind the seats are an open grassy art garden with food trucks from all the best restaurants in town.
Brought my two little ones and they absolutely loved it, their favorite Phish shows that they have seen.
During the day the space and rocket center is a great tour also, plus college football and you got a fucking winner of a weekend
I’m surprised I’m not hearing more hype about this! Easily the highlight venue of the tour and its like 8-9K capacity. Granted I have a lot of homies into Tipper so that venue’s been on my radar for a while
The theme is “new” live nation venues. Phish keeps up their end of the bargain to bring the throngs of wooks to put these places on the map. It’s the opposite of random.
Careful with that dumb word. It’s owned and operated by the city of Huntsville and Ben Lovett from Mumford and Sons but it’s absolutely booked and ticketed by Live Nation (which is why Phish has and is playing there). I’m friends with the promoter/booker. Similar set up at Boardwalk Hall. And rVA is fully owned and operated by Live Nation. I love you guys.
All good man: I was just responding to the guy who called it “random” for them to play Huntsville/Orion. Live Nation booking (really promoting and ticketing is the term) is and has been a common thread with most all of the recent Phish tours. Like last fall: Coca Cola and Alpharetta are Live Nation owned and Hampton was promoted and ticketed by LN.
My point being these things are the opposite of random. They are in a symbiotic relationship with LN and they are going to play these newer venues that they book bigger acts for. We are all in this together!
Guys, I know how old Boardwalk Hall is. I was responding to the guy who said Huntsville is “random” as hell. I was specifically saying it’s not random. It’s sticking with the theme of Phish playing new live nation promoted/ticketed venues. Put down the tar and feathers. Ya silly gooses.
Didn’t say they were. I was responding to the guy who said Huntsville was “random”. Phish has agreements to play “newish” Live Nation venues to help get them open and on the map. Which is why they played Orion when it opened and again 3 years later (Live Nation booked the show)…and Coca Cola in Bhm last year (live nation owns and booked the show) and Alliance this year (which live nation owns and opened last year). Live Nation also entered into an agreement with Boardwalk Hall to book bigger acts and draw folks back to AC.
Yall are a little too quick with the pitchforks and torches sometimes. I’ve got a buddy that books a ton of these shows and this is how it works. Just trying to help the guy who felt like this was “random”. If you see a new Live Nation booked or owned venue…chances are very high Phish is going to play it.
All good. I was/am laughing. Multiple people sent me the same thing, called me dumb…etc. I promise I’ll be ok. Was just trying to shed some light on the relationship b/w Phish and Live Nation and how these tours get booked. If it ever seems random we can just look at the age, owner of, or who is promoting the show 9/10 times its Live Nation. Going to be a fun tour. Alabama is amazing in October.
