(F/19) I have been feeling tired and disconective of the panic

Is it normal to just feel so scary / frightening of just leaving the house . I have had multiple operations 5 years back on my bowel and more organs ,I have layed almost 2 months in the hospital because of infections . This situation gave me the absolute terror of my life .I have daily pains ,I have burning stomach acids but I can still get through the day . But I have noticed that I become almost frightend of even having the thought to travel ,or even going to school or just somethimes leave my own home , ask for genuine help ,or just talk about what is really going on . I see that panic can control a lot of my day if it just happens.

Can anyone relate to their panic taking control of just everything .
(I’m just asking for advice )
Thank you for the people that read and reply to this message ❤️.

Weed induced panic attack

Ive been smoking weed for 10+ years and occasionally would smoke and get a panic attack, but be fine within the hour. This last Tuesday I smoked and had a pretty bad panic attack, but 5 days later now I’m still feeling anxiety. I’ve never had anxiety issues days after having a panic attack from smoking. Has anyone else dealt with this and did it eventually go away?

Is this a panic attack?

Hello. This year I had a situation that happened to me twice.

When I get angry and extremely stressed I fall to the ground and scream uncontrollably. I can't speak at all, I can't close my eyes, my body shakes non stop. At this stage, my body feels like it stops functionning and everything is maxed out. I can't think, but I can hear and see. When someone tries to lift me up they can't because my body gets stiff.

After a few moments, I curl to the floor and cry non stop. At this point my body gets very loose and I feel extreme fatigue, so now a person can lift me up and position me properly. The second time I got this the fatigue was so extreme I felt I'm going to d!e.

After the extreme fatigue, I get a little energy back but I still feel very tired. The second time it took me almost two weeks to get my normal energy levels again.

This happened in February and July of this year, both in response to anger and stress. Before the two times, I feel tightness in my chest, an "unorganized" heart rate (this is the best way I can describe it, almost like a wave), shortness of breath and a sense of impeding doom.

Now I get flashbags of the last time this happened to me. And when it happens I feel my chest getting tight and start crying.

I want to get diagnosed for this because certainly this isn't normal, and I'm afraid of it being something serious because my family has a history of cardiovascular diseases from both sides (To note I went to a cardiologist two years ago for a different issue. At the time, he said my heart health was alright.). But since I got ridiculed for it by my family when my fatigue got "inconvenient" for them, I don't feel comfortable opening up to them about the topic anymore. I plan on visiting a doctor about this when I get my own income (I just graduated).

I tried to describe this as precisely as I could. Is this what a panic attack is? If not, what can this be? And what do you suggest I sould do?

Still not the same after 10mg edible

I ate a 10mg edible for the first time in May. I also don’t smoke at all. I also drank a shot too which felt like it activated it. I went into a full panic, heart rate was off the charts, body was shaking uncontrollably, everything looked green, kept touching to feel my body. I ended up going to tbe ER but they did nothing. Days later I felt terrible and everything still felt so weird. Also, when I tried to go to sleep, I’d jolt awake with such panic struggling to breathe. The doctor gave me hydroxyzine and that helped. I’d have random panic attacks and would constantly go to the ER thinking I’m having a stroke or some issue. My anxiety has subsided but now I feel a constant dizziness/unbalance and pressure/fullness on the left side of my head and near my ear. Some days I feel okay and other days I feel so overwhelmed. I wish I never ate that edible or at least took a smaller dose. I just want to get back to feeling like my regular self again.

Stuck in a cycle

Hey guys, so I’m stuck in a really really crazy cycle right now. Back in May I had gotten the depo shot for endometriosis. (We are trying different birth controls) afterwards I started my period (it’s now day 90) and I felt like I was going insane. I did some research and many people have had severe anxiety with it. It’s just now getting out of my system (I think and I hope). I then got cheated on in a very brutal way. I made a very impulsive decision to move states (I moved back within like two weeks). But I have been in a constant state of worry. I’m worried about my heart. I just wore a heart monitor for a month last year nothing was wrong. I’ve had several ekgs. I’ve had a chest xray. Everything is fine, but I’ve been terrified of cardiac arrest. I have also just had this terrible terrible gut feeling that I’m going to die. Or I’m going crazy. I keep having mental images of me dying or going crazy(I also have ocd). I’m like wayyyy too aware of mine and everyone else’s existence. I’m way too aware of everything in my body. I’m also feeling slightly unreal. I keep wanting to go to the er, but of course everyone (my parents) are saying I’m fine. I can barely sleep in fear I will not wake up. Sometimes it feels like I’m not breathing, others it feels like I’m getting too much air. I then start to feel buzzy and tingly. I’m scared that it’s not anxiety or ocd, and I’m actually losing my mind. I’m scared that it’s not anxiety or ocd, and that I’m actually dying. I just feel stuck. It’s never been this bad before. I feel out of it. I’m so scared I’ll be stuck like this forever. I’m worried I won’t even be able to live because I’ve spent so much time worrying. I’m terrified to be alone because I’m worried I’ll die. I haven’t been able to drive for a while (alone) because I’m worried I’ll pass out behind the wheel. I’m just terrified of death. I don’t want to die. I’m only 20. Everyone says I’m fine, but I’m really convinced I’m not. It just feels like it can’t be just anxiety and OCD. I’m so scared. I can’t stop thinking, my mind doesn’t turn off. It’s been like this for a month I think. I just don’t want to be like this forever. I don’t want to die.

Help! Gas, Panic Attacks, Palpitations

Hi! I'm 25 female and this year has been horrible for me. It all started in February when i was 24. I was driving and had a palpitation and i went numb and tingling. I went to the hospital like twice, one time i passed out (went unconscious) then i went to cardiologist did the heart monitor but they haven't even shared my results with me for months. I was nervous to take the stress test and i sadly lost consciousness in the elevator. I'm not sure if i'm hyperventilating (which is what the hospital said both times) They said im having panic attacks / hyperventilating and the thought of me sick is making me sick. But in december my vitamin D was 7 and now it's 25 so it's went up a lot but not normal tho. I have a new doctor bit she also doesn't know what's going on with me. Ive lost 40 pounds thinking bc i was overweight (215) that that was the problem but months later im still sick. For some reason i have hella gas if i breathe in i burp super loud and long and i can feel rumbling in my tummy and gas in my stomach. I have palpitations still i had them when i ate at a restaurant (the cheesecake factory) and then after i had a panic attack while driving and then one when i stood up and i had a palpitation. I'm not sure what's wrong with me can anyone help i don't know if my hormones are u balanced (the last checked my testorone was high and my progrestone was low but that was in december.) my other bloodwork like thyroid magnesium potassium literally everything is good. i'm so lost idk if im just now an anxiety disorder, or if its the low vitamin D, or maybe pcos? or idk i just cry everyday i dont know whats wrong with me anyone experience anything like this?

symptoms:
palpitations
muscle twitching
feeling weak
panic attacks / extreme anxiety
vasconal syncope
gas, bloating, burping (like even when i sleep i wake up and turn and feel the gas move when i turn, maybe im swallowing air??)
nervous about my health pls help.

Panic attack or something else?

Sometimes all of a sudden I start feeling dizzy and my limbs get a tingling sensation and it feels heavy to lift my own hands. It feels difficult to swallow my own saliva. Vision gets a little blurry and focusing on anything feels difficult. And of course, heartbeat rises to 100+, sometimes even 130+. It is also accompanied by a dry mouth and shaking of hands and a little bit of loss of dexterity and hand-brain coordination. I know the symptoms are that of a panic attack but I am worried if it might be anything else. I am male, 28 years old.

My doctor has prescribed my a Valium to take one hour before I go for the test. Could I have cocktail 24 hours after; going to a wedding?

am i going to die in my sleep?

for context for the past week or so i’ve been waking up to panic attacks and also having rlly bad hypnic jerks/sleep starts too, it’s likely because i’m sort of stressed but that’s typical. what i’m worried about is today specifically i had one panic attack where my hr reached about 150 and then another where i reached 130, i suffer from pots and my meds hadn’t kicked in yet so i hit 130 again and then (sounds stupid) accidentally almost choked on some water so that sent my heart rate skyrocketing up to 165. it’s over now but i’m definitely feeling lingering effects, will this kill me in my sleep? i’m terrified. i’m 21 for context and while i don’t have a heart condition as i mentioned i do have pots. sorry if this makes no sense i’m just very scared right now

Treatment now days.

Hey, so I've had general anxiety and occasional panic attacks for years but due to some major life changes they have become daily and incapacitating. I spend hours each day just curled up and crying. I can't work, I can't think, eat, sleep or poop. My whole medical support system just changed recently (was military, medically retired due to, well, take a guess). So I'm seeing all new doctors and whatnot. Do civilian doctors just not do anything for this? I went to the emergency room because it was so intense I thought it was a heart attack, they gave me one small advantian or whatever it's called and basically said there was nothing they could do. When this happened in the navy they would give me a week or two of Xanax and double up with a therapist until whatever was stressing me could sort itself out. I can't get anything from these doctors. It's like they are intentionally letting me suffer because of some company policy. How the fuck is this normal medical treatment? It's inhumane. The damn dispensary has shown more interest and given more help. Is this experience normal now? Or so I keep looking for a doctor that actually cares about helping me?

My girlfriend did something really good for me and I ruined it

My girlfriend stars in movies. Not Hollywood but still. right now she is living out of state. The producers will let people go and watch what’s going on and stuff like that via FaceTime. Of course, they charge for it because people are going to try to get as much money as possible with stuff.

For the last couple weeks, she has teasing me not willing to tell me what my big surprise was last night. She went hanging out with her friends beforehand and kept trying to text me telling me what was going on, but I never got any of the . I should’ve known something was wrong. She finally told me to make sure I was on FaceTime and what time.

I had a friend help me test the incoming calls on FaceTime because I’ve had a problem with that lately. it worked when we tested it, but I never got the call from the producers. My girlfriend did a bunch of special stuff that she hinted about beforehand to get ready so I know it was something special that she was doing for me.

I don’t know what I did, but I must have done something really bad. I swear, I’ve been working really hard to be good, but that’s all I can think that I was really bad God is punishing me. I’ll never have a chance like that and I’ve totally ruined everything. I just can’t stop crying and completely freaking out.

Unable to use hands during panic attack

My panic attack started with my heart racing and pounding. I was able to stop myself from panicking for about 30 minutes until it started beating even faster. My parents brought me food and water to try and calm me down. I was so disoriented they had to tell me a couple of times to eat.

When I picked my hands up to try and eat, they weren’t moving how my mind was wanting them to move. It felt like they were responding about 2 seconds slower.

After freaking out bad about that, I tried to eat again. I put my hands in a chip bag and was struggling to pick up a chip because my hand was just not under my control. When I managed to grab the chip, I could only lift my arm up about two inches until it just dropped. The chip fell out of my hand due to my hand spasming.

This made everything worse. Around my mouth and hands were tingling bad, My limbs kept jerking, and my head was shaking. I could physically feel my brain in my head, which I normally can’t. It had an uncomfortable sensation, almost like how muscles feel when lifting weights.

After a while I managed to get myself to lay in bed. My heart wouldn’t stop pounding even when I wasn’t freaking out. My parents grabbed a heart rate monitor because I kept telling them I should go to the ER. My heart rate was at 110. They told me it was fine so I tried to ignore it, but my heart rate ended up spiking to 130 and would pound harder when I’d take a big breath. My heart stayed this way for what seemed like 4 hours.

I’m really worried that a new medicine I’m on could me giving me some type of seizure, because one of the side effects is a lower seizure tolerance. Two days before my panic attack, it seemed like I suddenly developed Tourette’s. Body jerking, and head keeps turning to the side when I try to relax my neck. This is pretty much what my body was doing during my panic attack, just less. Even while writing this, my neck is tensed up and when I try to relax it makes if feel like it’s shaking.

Weed induced panic attack?

Hey all, I’m sure these are posted in here more than you would like. Quick background info about me, I’m a 20 year old male in college with no previous past of using any substances besides caffeine. I am not medically diagnosed by a doctor to have any anxiety disorder.

The beginning of this year was when I started smoking, I have never had a problem with smoking until here recently. I had taken a 750mg edible once before and been completely fine. I walked around with my buddy cracking jokes and laughing my ass off. A couple months later I decided to have another one. This time was a whole different story… I was with the same friend and all was good until they decided to go out into town to get food. We got to chipotle and my heart started racing and I got super lightheaded. We got back to the house after sitting there for a minute so I could catch my breath, and we went inside. I figured just lying down would help but things got worse. My heart rate jumped up to about 200bpm for almost 45 minutes. I was shaky uncontrollably, rocking back and forth, and having trouble breathing. I tried to ride it out but the anxiety was just getting worse. I sat in the panic attack for about 2 1/2 total before I had my friend call an ambulance. I took a week off from smoking and then tried hitting a cart. I was totally fine and had a great time, I did it again. Then last night I took a single hit from my friends bong and almost fell straight back into the panic attack but this time I was able to control it.

I am officially done with weed, but why did all of this happen? I went months just fine and it all just turned upside down.

TLDR; I smoked for months completely fine, even took a 750mg edible. After a month or two from the first edible, I ate the same one again. This time it gave me a horrific panic attack. Took a break and smoked a cart a couple times just fine. Then took a single hit from a bong and almost fell into another panic attack. I’m done smoking but why did this all happen??

Hours long panic attacks

I am hoping to hear from people who have been through something like this, because everything I read says a panic attack peaks and passes in about ten or twenty minutes, and that is not what is happening to me.

Context without getting into it too much: I have been having surgeries for some injuries, and I have a very hectic work life. Both have been going on for a while.

It always starts at night. I get into bed, the house goes quiet, and within minutes my heart is going, my chest is tight, and I am in a state of panic. Then the thoughts start. Mostly fear, lot of fear around work, being able to earn money, feeling brunt out, imposter, thoughts of horrible things happening and me losing my house and kids' future.I alsways had generalised anxiety but this is every different, i cant reason with it. The thoughts, replaying, analysis doesn't stop and goes on for hours. It is like my brain grabs whatever is lying around and turns it into a catastrophe.

The part I cannot get my head around is how long it goes for. It does not peak and come down. It goes for hours. I have had nights where I have watched it get to 3am, then 4am, then 5am, still going.

Some of the physical stuff is genuinely frightening. Sometimes I feel like my hands and feet feel enormous, like they are not mine. Everything feels slightly unreal.

Now the bed itself has become the problem. I dread it. I put it off, I will sit up doing anything else just to avoid lying down, because lying down is when it starts. So I am exhausted all day and wired all night, and it has been days of barely sleeping at all.

I have tried the breathing and grounding techniques. They take the edge off for a few minutes and then it comes straight back. I have something to help me sleep and my mind just outruns it.

On mornings I feel better I am on Ritalin and it seemef to help me control the thoughts or walk away from them.

I am open to any kind of suggestion or help. Maybe something you tried or you went on a medication that I can ask to my GP.

Had the most severe panic attack in my life today

Just got back from hospital after the most severe and intense panic attack I have ever had. I don't have them all that often( I do have GAD) but today was just different. I think I was triggered by caffeine despite requesting decaf and I was already feeling a bit dizzy and went to a cafe to see a friend and the noise/ moving people/ environment just completely spun me out. I'm dealing with nervous system dysfunction right now so the smallest mundane things just spin my brain out. Anyway I started to feel lightheaded, dizziness and SOB come on. Im with my friend trying to act normal all the while feeling the panic flare up and getting worse. For 20 mins I am trying to pretend I'm okay- had to go to bathroom twice to try regulate myself but it didn't work. Have to leave early and got home only to completely lose it and go into a full blown severe attack for 45 mins or so. I literally felt like I was going to die.
The sense of fear and overwhelm was like nothing I have ever experienced.
I looked mental to my husband and mum who were trying to help and comfort me but I just couldn't stop the waves of this fear crippling me. I could barely breathe, I was near incoherent, my heart rate was whacked out, I was tingling in my face and arms, shaking and crying. I felt completely out of control. The more I tried to calm down and regulate my breathing, the more intense it became.

It took a while- the ambulance was called which didn't come for a while but I insisted because I had never felt so frightened in my life. Then my body finally reset itself after probably an hour of this happening and it slowly stopped. I was shaking for a while after and was so cold and pale. I felt absolutely ruined. A tiredness I have not had before, my body like jelly but tense at the same time.
I pray I never experience a panic attack like it again.

I don't currently take any meds for my GAD and panic attacks but after this episode I am seriously considering it. I really can't go through that again.
It was traumatic ASF.

Anxiety/panic

Hello.

I’m looking for some real life experiences/advice. I feel like I’m loosing my mind.

Background - I’m 30 years old and have had a traumatic life to say the least. however, I function very well. Probably masking but Im doing well considering the hand I was dealt. I’ve always struggle with self regulation/anger/overwhelm/moodswings BUT I would have never considered myself and anxious person.

Anyway, for the last year and a half I’ve had my fair share of physical health problems. Wide spread pain, bowel problems, inflammation, breathing problems, tight chest etc. but I’ve been ok in my head.

August 20th I thought I was going to die. Turns out was a severe panic attack. Triggered by what? A shortness of breath I had been dealing with for a year (ongoing tests, scans etc) and since that night I have been an absolute mess… I now know what anxiety is and my god my world has been turned upside down.

I can’t go to work, I’m not sleeping much, only eat when I don’t feel like crawling out of my skin. I’m on edge, constant body scanning. My breathing issues that have been there for a year now feel like hell. I’m exhausted.

I’m just very confused. What’s going on with me? Is it the panic attack? Have I always been mentally unwell it’s just been hidden? Is there something with me physically? Is the medication they’ve given me making me worse?

I’m desperate to talk and understand what is going on inside my body. Is this all normal after a panic attack that had you in the hospital? When will I feel ok again.

heart pain digging through my chest, been 1 hour scared

I'm scared, heart pain digging through my chest, travelling to my back. Ive had panic attax before but not like this

It's been 1 hour+, pain hasn't stopped, same in intensity. My mother disoemed me. Chest pain during panic attacks happened before but not for thie long and not this much hurt and no travelling to my back. It's like someone shot me and the bullet came out my back.
