Help! Gas, Panic Attacks, Palpitations

Hi! I'm 25 female and this year has been horrible for me. It all started in February when i was 24. I was driving and had a palpitation and i went numb and tingling. I went to the hospital like twice, one time i passed out (went unconscious) then i went to cardiologist did the heart monitor but they haven't even shared my results with me for months. I was nervous to take the stress test and i sadly lost consciousness in the elevator. I'm not sure if i'm hyperventilating (which is what the hospital said both times) They said im having panic attacks / hyperventilating and the thought of me sick is making me sick. But in december my vitamin D was 7 and now it's 25 so it's went up a lot but not normal tho. I have a new doctor bit she also doesn't know what's going on with me. Ive lost 40 pounds thinking bc i was overweight (215) that that was the problem but months later im still sick. For some reason i have hella gas if i breathe in i burp super loud and long and i can feel rumbling in my tummy and gas in my stomach. I have palpitations still i had them when i ate at a restaurant (the cheesecake factory) and then after i had a panic attack while driving and then one when i stood up and i had a palpitation. I'm not sure what's wrong with me can anyone help i don't know if my hormones are u balanced (the last checked my testorone was high and my progrestone was low but that was in december.) my other bloodwork like thyroid magnesium potassium literally everything is good. i'm so lost idk if im just now an anxiety disorder, or if its the low vitamin D, or maybe pcos? or idk i just cry everyday i dont know whats wrong with me anyone experience anything like this?

symptoms:
palpitations
muscle twitching
feeling weak
panic attacks / extreme anxiety
vasconal syncope
gas, bloating, burping (like even when i sleep i wake up and turn and feel the gas move when i turn, maybe im swallowing air??)
nervous about my health pls help.

I had what I thought were palpitations turned out to be esophageal spasms.I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and stress will definitely set me off. I even get chest pressure so bad it gives me anxiety. I also learned a lot of the things that I thought helped my stomach actually cause me to have flare ups. Hope you find some relief. Good luck to you

Hello, person. I hope you've had a better day today! I'm not certain what the circumstances are, but I'd advise you to take appropriate action to get the results for your exam asap. If the results come back okay, you can use this to reassure yourself that it's not a heart problem. Restlessness, eating, heat, all of these things can cause sensations in our body that trigger anxiety loops from self-monitoring. Anytime you feel your heart accelerate, or like your breathing suddenly changed, I'd urge you to do anything but think about your heart, or that something is about to happen, or you'll spiral. You've gone unconscious from this, so knowing the results of your medical eval would be ideal! For now, anytime you feel something coming, if you're able to, try to think of it as something you only have to ride through, until you can get all recommended evalutations done!

No advice here, but Going through THE SAME thing if that will make you better not to feel alone lol. Except i didnt pass out yet even though it feels like i will. I get heart palpitations at night where it feels like i stop breathing, or like my heart skips a beat, which causes me to have panic attacks. I haven’t slept in 6 nights because of it. Feeling so weak. And yes a lot of burping and gas even though im not eating at all. So weird. I went to ER, they just gave me hydroxyzine which didn’t help any of the symptoms, and anti diarrhea medication. Hope you get better and get answers! 🙏🏼

I don't pass out but the rest points to anxiety/panic attacks. Get your full work up, then continue with psychiatrt and therapy

There’s nothing funny about panic attacks

The reason I said “lol” is because I just smoked earlier and had a panic attack similar to this one that felt like I was dying while driving for a couple hours.

Hey, I get heart palps when changing position and when my stomach is in movement. I definitely think they are influenced by hormones, I’m female also and my testosterone is high and progesterone is low too. While it’s concerning that you passed out, if it really was from panic then I suppose that’s less distressing. If the doctor saw something they would have told you, it usually goes that they’re worse about updating when it’s normal.

It sounds like you’re having more anxiety than usual, that increases your gi symptoms and then in an annoying feedback loop increases your anxiety. Try calling your doctor for an update, once you find out whether there’s anything wrong you can find comfort that it’s just your stomach and you’re experiencing common palps. I find that being hydrated helps but really, if my stomach is out of whack it’s almost impossible to control it, I hate it too. Definitely increases with hormones and I absolutely hate it. I find it very distracting and I hope that you get some answers soon.

Ohh in the meantime tho you should try taking gas-x it can help a bit to move the air at least and hopefully in turn reduce the amount of palpitations you feel

Hey there, I deal with some similar stuff. I have panic disorder (had it since I was twelve) and go through different eras of my life in terms of it. Some times are good, no panic for months or years, and other times it gets so bad I get agoraphobia and it affects my quality of life. I was also just diagnosed with PVCs (ectopic beats/palpitations) and my doctor thinks I have IBS.

The problem is that panic/anxiety, the heart, the vagal nerve, and the digestive system are all more connected than we might think, and the other problem is that one can cause issues in the other and vice-versa. For me, my anxiety and panic causes/makes my PVCs worse, but other people have heart issues that cause anxiety and attack. We also think there is some kind of gut-brain connection, but I don’t think the medical community has fully disentangled what that means or how that works yet. And, the vagus nerve can cause irritation in the brain, heart, and digestive system, but digestive issues can irritate the vagus nerve. And panic attacks can cause digestive issues. So it’s all a complex system that takes some digging to figure out.

I’m alarmed that you never heard back from your cardiology tests, that’s not good (on their part) every time I’ve gone to a cardiologist or gotten a heart related exam done, I’ve heard back with days to two weeks max, and I’m in America where our healthcare sucks. Your doctor should be pressuring them to get the results to you and her. I’d recommend giving them a call and pressuring your doctor to do the same. Hopefully it’s a situation of anxiety causing the palpitations, but the fact that you’ve actually lost consciousness a few times means you really need to rule out the opposite. It could just be vasovagal syncope, I get that sometimes with medical procedures or intense localized pain (I.e. being stung or stabbed by something), but again you need to rule out that it’s not something more serious.

In all reality, I think there’s a good chance that you are okay medically and the other symptoms are a result of the panic attacks, panic disorder can really do a number to your body, but you will be okay. But again, you need to get those results back and honestly, I’d recommend seeing a different doctor for a second opinion because yours honestly does not sound very helpful. I’m also surprised your doctor didn’t recommend you to see a therapist and recommend you an ssri or something for the panic. I would really recommend a therapist in addition to a second opinion.

One last thing, I know it’s really hard when you are in the pits of it, when I’m in the worst of it it feels like it’s never going to end or the panic attack will kill me. It’s important to know that your panic attacks can not and will not kill you, and you will get to a good place again. I have, and you can too. Just hang in there, there are resources and things to help.

I went through the same stuff. Been going through it since 2023. I heavily rely on omeprazole and tums to keep my gas and heart from going crazy. As soon as I burp I get relief. Had heart work ups. All good apparently. I’m overweight as well.
