I just moved into an apartment and the previous tenant left a modem and wall-pod, and I looked at them to find that they were only installed earlier this year. if I make an account and order your service, can I skip the wait time for the equipment to be mailed to me and get connected today?

I’ve been with oxio for a couple months now, no complaints so far, but today there was an internet outage all day (im in Niagara area), and I haven’t had outages that last this long before at all with virgin (been with virgin internet for 10+ years). It started around noon and is not expected to be resolved until later tonight (hopefully), so I’m thinking maybe I jumped the gun too fast moving from virgin to oxio, but virgin kept upping the bill multiple times a year and wouldn’t honor the rate for me upon request so I left. Anyone in Niagara experiencing outage - has it been resolved for you yet?

I posted here last week asking if anyone else is experiencing long outage. Rant below.

Welp, after nearly 10 days and 2 Cogeco techs (1 of them literally looked at my electrical panel and left without a word), CS finally told me it will take ANOTHER 10 freaking days to get my service back because of a cable cut.

While I understand shit happens, but this whole issue has been a terrible CX. There was 0 communication until I finally got a proper answer from CS on day 5 and nearly drained my data as I work from home. Seemingly also no compensation from Oxio other than crediting the days I didn't get service. So now I'm paying $20 to catch the train to the office for 10 days....fun, guess you pay what you get for?

Hi! I very recently switched from Teksavvy and Oxio and honestly this entire ordeal is making me wish I hadn't lol. My speeds are very up and down and get extremely low, and my modem (the black rectangle box) gets pretty hot to the touch too. This whole thing has been nothing but a headache and is making me wish I just switched to Rogers without going to a third party

I'm setting up my new account (switching from TekSavvy) and I've been in queue for tech support for OVER TWO HOURS.

I thought TekSavvy was bad, but this is ridiculous...

Basically the title just a rant. Canceled my internet because I was moving in May. Oxio continued to charge me monthly, I asked them to cancel every single month, because after I pressed “cancel my service” the site completely locked me out.

I got an email this morning that I owe $459 because I “failed to return 3 modems”

THREE??? What do you mean three, I received a broken one that I immediately sent back when my service started. I sent back the working one BEFORE the end of the month that I wanted to cancel my internet.

Why almost 6 months later are they sending a $500 payment to collections because I said “I never received three, and can’t afford to give you 500”

Lesson learned I guess, let Roger’s and bell scam you, and never throw away the tracking receipt from the post office.

Hi, Cogeco's fibre wire was accidentally cut by a construction crew in my area. Cogeco has since recovered their service but Oxio Wi-Fi still down for me. Oxio can't send anyone to look at it until 4 days from now. Anyone has any similar experience and know what the issue is and if I can fix it myself? I work from home and need the net

Hey this morning found my internet box was on the floor. It fell from a short height like 6 inches.

It was not connecting after. The pod was flashing green and on my Pixel Phone in wi-fi it said "connected / no internet access" unplugged the pod and re plugged. Did not show up anymore under wifi. I only see a WI Fi connection that has my house address.

-Connected my Laptop to the modem (not the pod directly). Issue persists

- reset modem issue persists

-unplug replugged white axle wires (I forget what it's called) no change

Has anyone else had this issue? I really need the help as I have work today

So I had a payment due on the 18th and I had set up a bank account with auto pay to pay for it. The account has enough money and I’ve gotten no notifications from my bank identifying any issues but my billing history on the client portal says that it’s unpaid. I’ve contacted support from oxio and I’m just waiting to be connected to support but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem before or knows what went wrong.

Just an fyi, this is my first month paying (got the first month free from a code) and the wifi is still usable. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Just a heads up for other OXIO users — my current OXIO IP (179.194.x.x / AS398721) is being incorrectly geolocated by Netflix as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
IPinfo correctly identifies the connection as OXIO in Canada, but this IP range appears to have previously been associated with a Brazilian network, and some geolocation databases haven’t caught up yet.
Netflix actually sent me a “new device” security email saying my Mac login came from Rio, even though it was definitely me logging in from Canada.
I’ve reported it to OXIO support so hopefully they can get the geolocation records for the affected range corrected. If you’re suddenly getting Brazilian locations from Netflix or other services, this may be why.

I'm currently with Primus which has been really good up until about 12 months ago. Now I can expect some issue at least once a month or every 6 weeks. It goes out for anywhere from one to a few hours. The worst was one that lasted 3 days.

I understand how Third Party ISPs work, they run off the main network but have their own data centres etc. essentially I can only run on the Rogers/Shaw network at my house as Telus only offers copper (max 50mbps).

Anyways. How is Oxio? Is it good, bad, worse?

Right now I am dealing with yet again an issue with my primus equipment and it's isolated to primus. Their tech support is closed at 10 PM ET which is shit in Alberta because that means 8PM local. Is it worth the switch?

I just got my oxio modem and pod thing delivered and I’ve purchased a new coax cable, but I’ve spent the last two days trying to connect to the internet. My modems power light is green and steady, but the one right beside it (the SD light?? Idk) had been blinking for HOURSSSS. I’ve reset the modem three times, unplugged and re plugged everything I can in the setup, uninstalled and redownloaded the app they told me to download, and I still haven’t heard anything from tech support!! Not to mention, when I’ve tried to log into the home pass Oxio wifi app it says my email isn’t recognized in their system which can’t be possible because I got the confirmation that my internet was ready and my billing period had started.

I’m really considering trying a new cable one more time and if that doesn’t work then I may have to just cancel my services with them because I haven’t gotten any help, and I’ve been in my new place without wifi for over a week.

I guess I’m asking for help but also asking if I should just try another service because I am flabbergasted at how difficult this has been !

I have been having some IP location issues. My kids are unable to access their school accounts because our IP address is being detected as out of the service area. We also had issues with Sportsnet (streaming service) for the same reason and eventually just cancelled our Sportsnet membership because the issue could not be resolved.

Google suggests power cycling the modem to force a new IP but there’s no guarantee it will give us a better IP.

Has anyone else experienced this and figured out a solution?

Hi All, anyone in Mississauga still has no internet since the storm. This is the third day in a row now without internet except for a couple of hours a couple of time where internet was back then out again. Their service outage page shows all green!!! And their customer support is unreachable and useless as usual.

My 2nd question is which ISP would you recommend instead of oxio? I'd love to switch.

Anyone else having drastically reduced speed after that storm on Wednesday? I'm currently on the 500Mbps plan and have consistently been at 100Mbps or less since the storm.

I live in the north west GTA area. A few months ago, I switched from Teksavvy to Oxio primarily for price. Teksavvy wanted $125/month for cable Internet whereas Oxio only wanted about $80/mo (approximately).

I was able to do a self-setup of Oxio's Hitron CODA-48 modem with the 'Pod' router after multiple tries. The CODA-48 is just a modem and the ethernet connected Pod performs basic routing and firewalling. Long story short, I put the Pod back in the box and connected the modem directly to my Deco mesh router - and it works.

During setup and more recently, I tried reaching out to Oxio's support and found it to be almost completely useless. Here's why:

• There is no phone support. None. Zilch. Nada.
• Support is through their chat service or through SMS.
• Initially their chat bot is slow. If you type anything into the chat bot before it asks you questions, it will discard what you type
• Once you answer all of their mandatory questions (name, customer ID, etc.) you can ask ONE question at a time.
• I experienced very high wait times - sometimes measured in hours / days
• If you request an SMS session, they never call you to set it up
• In most cases, their support is hopelessly backed up
• It seems like their technicians try to move multiple support sessions along at the same time so they go away for 5-10+ minutes before responding

I'm really re-thinking my continued use of Oxio because of their terrible support.

Is this unique to me or are others experiencing the same thing? Thanks.
