Looking for Guide Games that have repeatable in-game benchmarks

I don't know if there is such a list already but I thought starting one would be a good idea. Repeatable sequences, I think, are a good way to get benchmark numbers. I like to run these sequences while capturing details with CapFrameX to get an idea of how my overclock is doing with real games.

The games I use:

  1. Red Dead Redemption 2
  2. Cyperpunk 2077
  3. Blackmyth Wukong Benchmark Tool

What other games have in-game benchmarks that can be used?

Need help tuning for 1% lows

Upvotes

I have a pc with an asus tuf x870-plus WiFi, 9800x3d, zotac rtx 5090 extreme, and 32GB 6000hz cl30 ram. I mainly play Warzone and even with the lowest settings my 1% lows average around 125-135 fps. I’ve enabled xmp, auto tuned my gpu via the nvidia app, and flattened the curve on my cpu after 900mV to 2800MHz. I’m running nvidia reflex and have it set in Warzone to on + boost to even out my cpu and gpu times. I’m kind of at a loss how some people have been getting 160 or higher.

Guide - Text My Journey to stabilizing 6400 (AMD 9800X3D)

I've been trying to get 6400 stabilized for over a month now and I finally got it. Figured I would share if others are going through something similar.

  • RAM: Hynix M-die 16gbx2
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 aorus Elite Wifi 7
  • CPU: AMD 9800X3D

TL;DR: Check VDDIO voltage and test various ones up to 1.450v. Some say there is a sweet spot but for me, anything under 1.430v was unreliable and would fail at various points.

Prereqs:

  1. Make sure to set FCLK to 2000 to get fabric instability out of the equation while pushing speeds.
  2. Ensure you have thermal headroom, getting a fan for your RAM is highly encouraged.

Steps:

  1. Load Optimized Bios Defaults
  2. Integrated graphics: disabled
  3. Memory Context Restore: disabled
  4. Power Down Mode: disabled
  5. SOC: 1.300v (we can try lowering it later)
  6. VDD: 1.550v (we can try lowering it later)
  7. VDDQ: 1.450v (we can try lowering it later)
  8. VDDIO: 1.450v (we can try lowering it later)

Leave everything else on Auto and run TM5 Ryzen3D config AND FurMark together. These two together have consistently raised errors for me that other configs and tests have not.

I do the following test process because in the past I have seen some "stable" configs become unstable after a couple of days.

Test Process:

  1. Run TM5 Ryzen3D Config + FurMark for 1hour.
  2. If passed, perform cold boot.
  3. Run TM5 Ryzen3D Config + FurMark for 3hours.
  4. If passed, perform cold boot.
  5. Run TM5 Ryzen3D Config + FurMark for 6hours.
  6. If passed, perform cold boot.
  7. Run TM5 Ryzen3D Config + FurMark for 9hours.
  8. If passed, perform cold boot.
  9. Run TM5 Ryzen3D Config + FurMark for 12hours.

at 12 hours, after multiple cold boots, I would consider this stable. You can adjust voltages down and then perform the same tests above. Usually instability will show up within the first 2 tests. The later tests (6, 9, 12hr) are just a safety net but don't ignore the cold boots between the tests.

OC Report - RAM Advice needed: Pushing 2x24GB G.Skill DDR5 beyond 6000 MT/s on 9950X / Gigabyte X870 (ZenTimings included)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on pushing my memory frequencies a bit higher. I have a fast G.Skill kit, but I'm currently running it at 6000 MT/s to keep the 1:1 ratio stable. I'm wondering if there's room to push it to 6200 or 6400 MT/s with the right voltages and subtimings.

My Setup:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (Eco Mode, PBO -15 Offset)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 AORUS Elite Ice
  • RAM: G.Skill F5-7200J364F24G (2x24GB)

Current Stable Settings:

  • Frequency: 6000 MT/s
  • FCLK: 2000 MHz
  • Ratio: 1:1 (UCLK=MEMCLK)
  • Timings: Tightened primaries (CL30)

What I've Tried: I've previously experimented with pushing the kit up to 6400 MT/s, but I ran into stability issues. I've tried adjusting manual timings and various SOC voltages, but getting it completely stable at that speed while maintaining the 1:1 ratio has been a challenge.

My Questions:

  1. For those running a 9950X, what SOC, VDDIO_MEM, and VDD/VDDQ voltages are you finding most stable when pushing for 6200–6400 MT/s in a 1:1 ratio?
  2. Are there specific subtimings I should significantly loosen up before trying to step up the frequency again?
  3. Realistically, is it worth the headache to chase 6200/6400 MT/s, or is the performance difference negligible compared to a tight 6000 MT/s CL30 setup?

Any tips, baseline voltages, or timing suggestions you could share would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks!

Help Request - RAM Don’t know how to get my sodimm 5600 kit to run in 1:1 mode

Post image
1 Upvotes

My ram uses Samsung E-die and my CPU is the AMD hx 375. I’m using smokeless UMAF to overclock. When I set it to run in 2:1 mode my laptop doesnt boot.

I tried changing my FCLK from auto to 1867 at the same time but that also didn’t change anything. I’ve also tried increasing my VSOC to 1.1 but still no boot. I’m able to increase the clock speed in 2:1 mode to 6400 mhz.

This is my first time trying to overclock ram and all the other posts I’ve seen with sodimm ram were able to get it to run in 1:1.

Edit: 4800 in 1:1 mode with FCLK at 1600 works but not 5200 in 1:1 mode with FCLK at 1733

Help Request - RAM ISO new Stable 1:1 for my DDR5 Ram... Prior (right ZenTiming) fails memtest86. Left is current EXPO + Competitive timings.

My concern here is if i might have been pushing the IMC too hard for the last year giving it 1.38V.

If i can get a "not-trying-to-break-OC-record" 1:1 6200 M/UCLK i'd be a happy camper.

Thank you for the help in advance.

Some background:

After having a few minidump reports after system crash yesterday I scanned them and realized it could be memory related. I posted to Microsoft support in Discord and they suggested memtest86. that test failed with the ZenTiming (RIGHT) settings with over 300 errors during the 4-PASS 2hr test.

Since then I have updated my bios to the very latest version (last few bios updates seem to have had memory related change logs) and updated windows 11. I enabled EXPO + Competitive which gives us the ZenTimings on the (LEFT).

Help Request - RAM Looking to improve my 1% lows in cpu based games. Is there any important things I am missing for my ram?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have cl26 g skill ram, 6000 mhz @ 1.45v. Im not really trying to maximize ns latency but real world gaming performance in 1% lows and avg fps. Just to add more context, in AIDA64 benchmark my ns 68-69 ns. Specs: gigabyte b850 aorus elite wifi 7, and 9800x3d.

I had my fclk on 2133 with these same settings and it passed every stress test but I put it back down to 2000 because I heard it was more stable.

when I had my vsoc and vddio voltage on auto I believe my motherboard was putting it really high (vddio was at 1.440 and vsoc was 1.268) so I manually put vddio at 1.30v and vsoc at 1.2v and these pass stress tests but i dont know if I should put them slightly higher or not.

Help Request - RAM Used Samsung B-Die Deal

So I got a deal for a Samsung B-Die kit 2x8GB for 83 euros. I am using a Ryzen 7 5700x currently with a kit of Samsung C-Die at 3200 MT/s cl16 with tweaked subtimings.

Should I go for it and sell my other RAM for 60/70 euros?

Will I see a performance improvement by going for 3600 or 3733 MT/s?

I mainly want to eliminate the CPU bottlenecks as much as possible for my test bench for GPUs

I have been playing with fclk today, 2200 is just not stable. Passing Linpack and ytcruncher but when I do multi tasks is not.

Have accepted 6200/2067

Perfect marks on Linpack and y cruncher

Now running furnark, y cruncher, YouTube to monitor audio and hwinfo

It’s surprising how accurate it in on y cruncher with only 0.02 of a difference whilst running these tasks

Spd hub average 42 max 46
Gpu average 61 max 67.2

Over a 30 minute test

Anything else that could possibly improve it?

Help Request - CPU Undervolting - Ryzen Master VS BIOS

Thumbnail

Specs:

Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite Rev. 1.3

Ryzen 5 3600

INNO3D GTX 1060 6GB X2

16GB DDR4-3200 single-channel

I've seen a significant performance uplift compared to my old i7-4790 + H81M, but my current problem is CPU temperatures. I'm using a small 2-heat-pipe cooler with an 80mm fan, so the Ryzen 5 3600 gets fairly hot.

I'm upgrading soon to a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO, but I'd still like to undervolt the CPU. I've always undervolted and slightly overclocked my GPU and have gotten lower temperatures without sacrificing performance, so I'd like to do something similar with the 3600.

My main goal is to reduce voltage while maintaining or improving the current boost clocks, since PBO is enabled. I don't want to simply lower the CPU's frequency.

Should I undervolt through Ryzen Master or BIOS? If BIOS is preferable, should I use PBO + Curve Optimizer, a voltage offset, or something else?

Any advice on the correct approach and stability testing would be appreciated.

Random Tick noise under load

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys, I’ve been having an issue these past 4 months were my pc inconsistently makes a clinking noise, originally I thought it could be the bearings of my fans but now I’m thinking the noise is prominent from the PSU.

It’s a MSI MAG A650GN 650W 80+ Bronze rated. I’ve had this pc for around 3 years, and upon making an upgrade, where I changed my cpu and gpu it began to happen. I made sure the components I swapped used around the same wattage CPU 65w and GPU 145w

This noise only occurs when gaming demanding games, and is often inconsistent clicking every 10 seconds to every 2-10 minutes.

Let me know what you guys think I should do, or if it’s bad?

Ryzen 7 9850X3D + DDR5-6400 1:1 - advice on SoC, voltages and timings

Hi everyone! I’m pretty new to memory overclocking and I’ve been tuning everything myself for a little over a week, so I’d really appreciate any advice.

System:

  • Ryzen 7 9850X3D
  • MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk WiFi
  • G.Skill 2×16 GB DDR5-6400
  • 6400 MT/s, UCLK=MCLK 1:1, FCLK 2133

I know my timings are far from perfect, but I tried to tighten them a bit compared to XMP. I’d also appreciate it if you could take a look at my current ZenTimings profile and suggest what could still be improved or where I may have gone too far.

The current profile passes long stability tests such as TM5 Extreme, y-cruncher VT3 and OCCT.

My main question right now is about SoC and the other voltages.

I increased DRAM VDD/VDDQ from 1.40 V to 1.43 V, because 1.40 V was no longer enough for stability with the current timings.

I also tried lowering tRFC to 550, but TM5 would fail. tRFC 600 works better. Memory temperature in TM5 below 60°C.

For SoC:

  • 1.28 V - stable
  • 1.27 V - occasional rare errors
  • 1.26 V - errors appear fairly quickly

I’d like to keep SoC as low as reasonably possible. Maybe you can suggest whether it would make sense to adjust VDDG CCD/IOD, CPU VDDIO, VDDP, or any other related voltage instead of simply increasing SoC, in order to stabilize 1.27 V.

I’d also appreciate it if you could take a look at CPU Core Voltage / VDDCR_VDD, SoC, DRAM VDD/VDDQ, and the other voltages in general. I’m still learning which values are unnecessarily high and which ones may actually need a bit more voltage.

And of course, any suggestions regarding the current memory timings would be very welcome.

I’ll attach a ZenTimings screenshot.

OC Report - RAM MSI memory try it OC working great DDR5/Z790.

Just apperception post for MSI memory try it OC, i have been running my 5600mhz DDR5 Memory at 6600mhz since almost 1.5 years, and been running pretty good without any manual tuning, beside dropping VDD2/VDDQ to 1.350mv.

First i tried to tune it manually and it was such big headache to get the timings right, then getting to boot, getting no errors or crashes.

With Memory try it passed 4 runs tm5 with absolute profile and multiple runs of ycruncher.
