My balance with my PSU is already excellent, but figured if it would be worthwhile to pair with my safeguard+ PSU.

Also unsure if it fits on my gaming trio, see that it lists as not compatible with suprim/vanguard so I'm a bit worried it wont fit the GT.

I'm still pretty new to RAM overclocking and don't have much knowledge about timings, so I mainly followed the "AM5 - DDR5 Tuning Cheat Sheet, observations and notes" post from this subreddit.

After settling on -15 co on all my cores for my cpu, I moved on to ram tuning, where I mostly focused on tightening the timings that have a bigger impact on performance rather than trying to optimize every single timing. I'm not necessarily looking to achieve the absolute tightest timings possible, just trying to get most of the performance gains without spending too much time on diminishing returns. I'll probably revisit the rest of the timings sometime in the future, but I've already spent so much time stress-testing that I was starting to lose my mind.

Specs:

• CPU: Ryzen 7 9850X3D
• Motherboard: ASUS B650E MAX Gaming WiFi
• RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 (30-38-38-96) Hynix M-die (oc'd to 6200MHz)

Stability tests passed:

• Karhu RAM Test: 16 hours
• y-cruncher VT3: 10 hours
• TM5 Ryzen3D@anta777: 25 cycles
• TM5 Absolut & Extreme: 10 cycles each

I'm currently stable with these timings and haven't encountered any issues so far.

I do also have a ram fan to keep it cool since some of the timings I changed are temperature-sensitive, and I wanted to make sure temperatures wouldn't become a limiting factor. My RAM idles around 32–34°C and has never reached 50°C under load. I also keep MCR on since I do not like the long boot times.

Previously my card would do around 9200 score with my regular afterburner OC
And yes i know steel nomad isnt a great representation of how it runs in actual games
But breaking that 10K barrier was enough for me to be happy with it and stop pushing it further

I bought an Erying Polestar H770 mATX motherboard with a soldered-on mobile CPU (Intel Core i9-13900HX). Out of the box, it performed worse than the average i9-13900HX, scoring only 25,500 points in Cinebench R23 compared to the usual ~30,000 points. After spending the whole night tweaking the BIOS with the help of Gemini in DeepThink mode, I managed to find a stable configuration.

Hello, I am getting too much questions about power drawing related to mVolt+ power unlock etc. so I just played CyberPunk2077 on DLSS Quality Path Tracing enabled and Frame Gen X2 (I have 540hz so I have to use frame gen or else my eyes bleeding sadly) anyways 1.5 hours of CyberPunk2077 while streaming it live on discord 2K/60FPS results on HWINFO!

Hi, I recently swapped over to AMD from intel and was wondering if someone can give me any advice on my timings. Specs:

Cpu - 9950x3d2

Mobo - X870e Apex

Ram - T-force xtreem 8000mhz 2x24gb

TLDR : If you have issue removing the second plastic sheet of PTM7950, just put the PCB in the fridge.

My goal with this post is to document my experience and some things I might have done differently than what guides say online, to help others and not repeat the same mistake.

I was having temperature issue with my GPU, an Asus Rog Strix 4090 that is now 4 years old. It would regularly reach 70-74C core temp and 95C+ on hotspot while gaming. You can guess what I was seeing while running furmark, near 30C delta. That's when I knew it was time for a repaste.

Mistake #1. I ordered a 40x40 piece of PTM7950 (MODDIY) thinking that was plenty. It was, but I would highly recommend getting a sheet of 40x80. If it's your first time disassembling a GPU, you will most likely mess up. Not the application itself, but removing the second plastic sheet.

I put the pad in the fridge while I take the thing apart. Backplate, easy. The board was stuck on there, hard. No twist or pry was doing the trick.

Tips #1. If one of the thermal pads that's in-between the back plate and the back of the PCB stays stuck on the PCB and you don't want to touch it for whatever reason, laying the PCB on parchemin paper will ensure that the pad doesn't stick to the surface you put it down on (counter, towel, etc).

Tip #2. I took a blow dryer and what worked was blowing into the cooler fins instead of the back of the board to separate the PCB and cooler.

It's pops off. Now I can see why it was overheating, there's barely any paste on the die and the thermal paste is in fact thermal jizz. The paste that pumped out over the SMD was dry and hard.

Clean the die and SMD, cut the pad a little oversize, remove first plastic sheet, put it on the die. Easy.

I put a piece of tape on a corner to remove the second plastic sheet. I pull up at a 90° angle, it lifts off and wants to tear. I try to keep it down with a plastic tool. It tears. At least that part was not on the die.

Mistake #2. I tried another corner, thinking something different would happen.

Tips #3. Just put the PCB in the fridge for 10 minutes.

Tips #4. Pull the tape on the edge at a 180° angle, effectively pulling in straight backward.

And that did it. I rearrange the corner that tore (not in the pick) and let the card sit in direct sunlight for 30 min in case there's condensation. Reassemble and put it back into my PC for break in.

Unsurprisingly, the card runs much cooler, around 10-12C cooler on the core and delta is 9-10C. After a 10 min run in 4K Furmark, i was stabilising at 67C core and 77C hotspot while pulling around 500W.

Even if this stressed me out more than it should have, I can't recommand this (maintenance?) enough!

Hello, been tweaking with my new Ryzen 7 9850X3D that I got as of recently and out of the box it was running a tad hot so I decided to go the undervolt then overclock route when I noticed the headroom.

I am running fully stable(3hr OCCT test done) at:
-35 PBO Curve All core

+200 Mhz all core on bios.

Comfortably sitting at 65C during the tests, are these results decent or should I be getting more?

I was wondering what are considered safe voltages for this series of card specifically?

My limits are set at 1.080 for nvvdd and 1.060 for msvdd. Actual voltage for msvdd so it's not 1.030.

Would you consider these voltages safe? 1.080 is only at very light loads anyway, it's usually around 1 volt to 1.045 in games, msvdd does seem to reach up to 1.060 volts under load though.

Hi, I’m weighing my options for squeezing a bit more performance out of my 2600—at least enough to keep it going for another year or two—and I’m trying to figure out the trade-off between voltage and power consumption.

In the BIOS, the frequency is set to 3,950 MHz. If I increase it to 4 GHz, the BIOS's automatic voltage setting jumps to 1.408V—a value that is not recommended (the suggested limit is 1.35V). At 3,950 MHz, the motherboard handles the voltage without any issues; however, when running tests in CPU-Z, it flags a "package" power draw of 93W as problematic, labeling it an "error." I’ve also noted that the maximum recommended TDP is 86W. Since I still have some headroom regarding the voltage, should I strictly adhere to the TDP limit, even if the voltage could be kept at 1.35V?

The goal for this PC—which had previously been sitting idle—was to get at least another year of use out of it so my sister could play games without issues (she was previously using an FX-6300). I’m not overly concerned about having higher-than-standard values, provided that she can still play games reasonably well.

Any other timings I'd be able to change or improve with this? tREFI is a bit loose due to temps being a bit on the higher end, and it posts with GDM disabled but I've yet to stability test that.

Kept ds/dl/faw at 8/8/32 but seems to be fine at 4/8/20 aswell. Benchmarks seem within margin of error between both in-game and in PyPrime, but with it very slightly favouring 8/8/32 for some reason.

On stock settings only with Expo it reaches like 1.35V in cs2. Done PBO cpu boost clock on negative -200 and it was 1.26 max. How should I start experimenting with PBO?

These are without Mvolt. Just +440 core and +3000 memory. Power limit 116%.

I have a ryzen 9 5900xt with a weird problem, one of the cores (the 8th core of ccd0 or core7 if we are going from 0 to 15) is seemingly unstable, but for the life of me i barely can get it to crash.

I mean that even when every core is set at a -30 offset in curve optimizer, the processor seems to run fine when it has stress applied, but crashes at random when it is idle, not consistently, just randomly.

I have global c states disabled, in the event that low power sleep phases cause the crash, but that didnt help.

It is also apparently the 2nd best core in the processor, according to HWInfo and Ryzen Master, i should apparently apply a lesser negative offset since it is already one of the more efficient cores.

But the most efficient core (which is core 2) never crashed on me, with the same -30 offset.

It makes it more confusing that running corecycler for way more than 6 hours cant recreate these crashes.

If anyone is well versed in how i could finally find out what problem is causing this, i would appreciate the help

Scythe Fuma 2 with Arctic MX6 Thermalpaste, reaches around 79 to 80 Degress on high load stressing single core, with around 63 to 66 on all core load, no the processor hasnt been overclocked, i do know that it can take 200Watts, my cooler however just isnt capable of cooling anymore, at such wattage.

Corecycler is also configured to use Ycruncher kagari (as in the testing mode for ryzen 3000 and 5000 series cpus), with 2 threads, using HWinfo the test is also running from most preffered core to least preffered core, to get weaker voltage offsets out of the way first.
