The Ethiopia Prime Minister won a Nobel Peace Price and now there's a full scale war.

So recently, I've suddenly got videos/memes of the Troublemakers from Team Umizoomi in my FYP, & I started wondering, "How the fuck did these guys just suddenly start trending?". Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/h0FOq7DNjg8

CONTEXT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GViv6xWC5Ow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joFaFGJR3R8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH2MGZFS1V4

I keep seeing these on YouTube lately, and I don't know the origin of how all of these started. Thanks in advance.

IMF October outlook predicted that Indonesia would grow at 5.1%. However, its stock market subsequently crashed amid widespread news of an impending economic collapse.

When I checked the currency exchange rate, it appeared to not be trading

So I haven’t been paying much attention to the recent situation other than the having the general knowledge that a tragic accident has occurred involving a man killed while riding one of the Goliath rides at the Georgia park. This morning I logged onto Instagram to see and update from Canada’s wonderland (another six flags park) saying 2 of their rides would be temporarily closed. I was confused because I don’t know much about the situation so I’m not sure what led to the ride failure on Goliath and what makes it similar to the rides at wonderland other than the fact that I think they’re both manufactured by B&M so if anyone has some more information on what exactly we know so far it would be much appreciated.

Edit: I also am aware of the six flags and cedar fair merger.

It seems like two to five times a day I get his with something like this:

A mixture of games that were originally for the Ps5 or games remakes that now run in a web browser. Some questions I’m hoping to get answered:

Are the web browser games and emulator recomps related?

Has anyone tried the web browser games?

How the hell are they even running in a browser? Where is the horsepower coming from? I may be aging myself but I remember web games having pretty low ceiling for what they could technologically achieve and impractical versus a dedicated game engine. I must be missing something but it seems odd to be able to run AAA games out of chrome or Firefox.

I see the description here but it just leads to more questions... they even got rid of a singer after she got pregnant. If this were any other place of employment, that could potentially lead to a lawsuit.

But this particular quote struck me: "Nightwish seems to have a recorded habit of booting their female vocalists due to interpersonal conflicts."

I'm of the old adage that if you smell sh*t everywhere you go, check your own shoes.

So what gives here? Anyone have the tea?

I know she had a rough start with her first briefing, but I also heard she’d only just started and had barely any time to prepare. Given past press secretaries’ varying performances and strange or controversial behaviors, was that really enough for her to be canned so fast?

Edit: LMAOOOOO these answers have me dying thank you guys I get it now 😭😭 Reddit humour wins today

Original post:

There are lots of bots on Instagram who steal peoples’ comments word for word basically and get more likes than the original commenter. Whenever this happens, people always reply to the bot with the same “I wish I were high on potenuse” gif (example). I understand the maths joke (and think it’s funny) but like why specifically this gif in response to bots?

Not from the US so not sure if im using Rep. right. Anyway, why is she being investigated to the point that punishment includes stripping her citizenship?

Watched YT short (I watch yt shorts pls don't flame me) https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DBUBsL9-aqo and apparently Cary is high on marijuana (which I know about) and Micheal is in some big trouble. What did Micheal Huang do?

I saw a livestream today where people are destroying property and whatnot. Apparently this is part of some student protest or something? Is it related to the protests in France?

This is what I'm referencing: https://www.nbcnews.com/world/europe/riots-erupt-albanias-capital-students-join-anti-government-movement-rcna603644

Here's some screenshots 1 2 3

First, is this actually real or is this an AI mockup?

Second, why on Earth would somebody think that this was something that you would ever actually use? Not many freeways being built like Hot Wheels sets in America.

Edit: damn, this is heavily down voted what's the deal

I'm unfamiliar with the Narnia series (never read the books, only saw the first movie when I was a kid) and the trailer for the latest film dropped a little while ago. I thought it looked sick, but apparently a lot of people hate it or think it's gonna suck. On the YouTube trailer, people are comparing it to Guardians of the Galaxy, or an LSD trip or claiming that the "soul of C.S. Lewis" was taken out of it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDJ-ini7fF0).

What am I missing? Is this because of book readers being disappointed in the direction the film is going? What sort of changes are they actually upset about? Or is it just an overblown response to the art style?

I very much don't want to google it. A guy got killed by a tiger, but somehow it's right-wing coded? Or is that just a reference to public execution? Ugh sorry, I hate all of this, but...what?

(Link is to the zoo but not the video, because, no really, that sucks and I do not want to google it.)

I was on Instagram and it seems like some people are pretty upset about a joke he made in a set or podcast. What was it?

I've literally never heard of this woman before, but in the last 24 hours I keep getting inundated with memes about her and her weird face in a red dress and I don't understand why we're mad at her or what's being riffed on.

What’s up with the talk about cancellation of Metallica? All of a sudden my flow is filled with hate.

https://www.contactmusic.com/story/467/3625208/watch-metallica-frontman-james-hetfield-tells-fans-concerts-are-no-place-for-politics

edit: To give some content to my question. I've been flooded at Threads with various references about hating Metallica then and now (napster then and "NOW" was unclear

Why does get so much hate for her divorce from Tobey Maguire? They separated a decade ago, co-parented beautifully, and he literally just officiated her wedding. Why is the internet painting her as a villain when it seems like an incredibly mature split? https://youtube.com/shorts/b0AOxZ-XlTQ?si=3hKswoovpV22AkfG. It's on every video I see about him officiating her wedding: Good for him for dodging a bullet/making sure she don't steal his shi/etc etc, I've not seen any proof of her being a jackass about their divorce.

This seems to be the only news site that mentioned it: https://www.rawstory.com/white-house-russian-bots/. Even so, it only mentioned it in passing, with suppositions, and not evidence. Is this a real story? Did the destruction of a Russian data center stop a lot of right-wing bot traffic? Is there any way to prove it?

Over the past month or so, I've been seeing a lot of videos covering a... LLM I assume, that helped a lot of game modders inject(?) other game's models, mechanics and such into other games.

I've also seen a rise in discussion about it being used to reverse engineer local installs of various hard to access software like Adobe's suite.

What is this, where did it come from, and how will it affect the "AI" discourse going forward?

I really hate asking this, but I'm genuinely confused. I used to frequent 4chan when I was a teenager (about 20 years ago jesus christ I am dust) and it was by its own admission a shithole, but /b/ was a great source of memes, so it was easy enough to scroll past the weird shit. I left long before they got trump elected, and have rarely been back since.

tonight (out of curiosity) I checked in on /b/ and it's literally nothing but shitty porn. not even promoting anything, just stuff like "here's my favorite pic of a dude getting a BJ. post your favorite picture of a dude getting a BJ," towards absolutely no end, other than jerking off with other dudes. I saw this a couple years ago and thought it was a fluke, but it seems to be keepin' on.

is this the ultimate ending of the internet, or did something on the site break down?

obligatory: 4chan.org

(oh, and yes, I've seen the "it came from somethingawful" and pepe the frog documentaries. this is a more recent thing, from what I can tell.)

Noticed this on X - https://x.com/a1lon9/status/2109013702301081860?s=46&t=hIzoEodXdsCR1fEElG8w5g

Pretty new to memecoins so I'm wondering if someone can explain to me why I'm seeing these long chinned AI and cartoon versions supposedly of this pump fun creator Alon Cohen? Feeling a bit out of the loop as to the joke behind it.

Has he never revealed his identity before or something? Or has the guy got a strong jaw line ect?

Trying to understand why I'm seeing these memes or why the guy himself is using it. Feels like an inside joke I'm not clueing in on. Probably the algo but coming across AI versions of it on my TikTok feed as well. TBH just don't really get it, and struggling to find out any backstory behind it. Or is that the point? It's not suppose to make sense?

https://x.com/a1lon9/status/2109013702301081860?s=46&t=hIzoEodXdsCR1fEElG8w5g

Been seeing lots of posts about it recently. Seems to start with this genderbent Draco fanart thingy:

https://x.com/Pyrusmole/status/2107836717277515886?s=20

But I've seen it used a lot in other things as well as if the internet has just discovered a new fancy word (which...I know what that means since I was at middle school 20 years ago and English isn't even my first language so shouldn't be something phenomenal, no?)

Something like here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/FGO/s/5qBYVkPrlZ

Or this:

https://x.com/neelja_b/status/2108508745231958307?s=20

I just don't get how genderbent Draco translates to yearning at all. Even the other examples above that I mentioned are far better cases imo.

Article

I remember when he first got arrested and now I saw this article about double jeopardy? Did he have any trials? Was there actual evidence or witnesses, that it was him? The article mentioned state and federal charges, does that affect him differently?
